Pop, I had a heart shaped uterus, although I was always told it was not a cause of RMC (?). They took the septum out, anyway, at st Mary's. The main issue it caused me was I kept having problems with retained products after erpcs. The recovery from having the septum removed was one month; they put 2 coils in and gave me hrt. It seems to have healed well (although maybe connected to my current issues with placenta praevia?). Good luck with the op etc.
Happy weeing, Flen!

sebsmummy1 · 13/03/2015 07:59

I used to use the opks from Poundland and although I think the dye isn't massively strong I always got a positive but only right at the last minute! I liked doing it that way instead of buying a massive bag from eBay as me and piss sticks living together in the same house is dangerous lol

I also credit weekly acupuncture to getting me pregnant this last time. My cycle had gone down to 23 days at it's shortest (due to age) and she managed to get it back to 27/28 days in four months and I fell pregnant. My body was really doing the pregnancy well too, ie lots of progesterone, but whatever happened happened, I really don't think the acupuncture could have fine anymore so for whoever said up thread they worried that discontinuing it lead to their MC - it didn't, I'm sure.

QueenAngst · 13/03/2015 08:00

Morning all. I'm just popping my head it to say hello. Unfortunately, I think I belong here. Sad
I just had a second trimester loss. Before that I had a MMC at 9 weeks. I've possibly also had two chemical pregnancies.
I'm just waiting for our post-mortem and placenta tests, as well as the results from the hospital blood tests they took immediately after my loss. I'm also battling with my GP who's sitting on a rrefferal for the specialist blood tests (clotting disorders etc). I think these are important as the loss was probably due to a bleed inside the placenta.
Not had any alcohol since before x-mas; half of me wants a large Wine , the other half feels guilty like I'm being a traitor to my little baby.

sebsmummy1 · 13/03/2015 08:06

Oh Queen I am so sorry Sad. Absolutely heart breaking and not helped by having few answers either.

This thread is bloody amazing. No one wants to be here but the information and support is out if this works fabulous. Massive hand hold from me xxx

sebsmummy1 · 13/03/2015 08:07

*out of this world fabulous.

Stupid phone.

bootles · 13/03/2015 08:34

brummie good plan to get you through the weekend

counting thanks. They tested me for the thyroid anti bodies at St Marys (RMC), I was negative so not eligible for TABLET. It sounds like such a plausible theory...let's hope the trial gets some useful results, and it helps you.

sebs as March says, the results take about 5 weeks. They encourage you TTC straight away. I got my results on CD 27, and a bfp on CD 28 (late for me but the scratch seemed to make me O late) so then had a panicked rush to get prednisolone. It failed anyway, but at least I now know I have high NK cells (though only just). Tanny got a bfp before results were back, so they advised pred anyway.. Her results were neg for NK cells.

barking it sounds like you are doing all you can, and doing a very good job at remaining sane!

freckle I know what you mean..if I'd started earlier I would at least have more time to play with. At 41 time is sadly lacking.

Sorry pop I haven't any experience with Ashermans, but its something else for them to check I guess.

Hope your appointment goes well march.

flen I always use ic opk kits, and test in the afternoon/evening, which as march says is when you are supposed to get the biggest lh surge. I haven't ever read about leaving wee to cool on the brand I use. I usually get a faint line (which doesn't count) for a day or two, followed a strong line. It always co-incides with the distinct O pain I now get. Good luck with them.

The RMC after a boy theory: there was a discussion on here about it a while back, I think it was march who posted a useful link. I haven"t had time to look into it, still don't but found myself reading about it at 1am (Must stop doing that). Basically the suggestion is that your body becomes immune to pregnancy, after having an immune response to a part of Y chromosomes, which results in any pg being treated as a foreign invader. It was late and I haven"t described it well, I'm going to make time to investigate further. I find it very worrying.

bootles · 13/03/2015 08:35

Apologies for long post

bootles · 13/03/2015 08:38

Hi queen, sorry cross post. Welcome, and I am so sorry for your losses. I hope you find us helpful here.

QueenAngst · 13/03/2015 08:58

Thanks for the welcome. I'll try to keep up with the thread. It moves fast! I have a question if that's ok. Does anyone know what they test for in the bloods taken immediately after a loss? I had a heap of blood taken in the hospital. I'm guessing it's for infection rather than clotting disorders etc.

bythesea82 · 13/03/2015 09:05

Hi, happy Friday everyone.

counting please your GP is being supportive, I still have my fingers really crossed that it was just a little early for you to have the scan, sending positive vibes your way.
freckle despite the name confusion, I could give you a little ‘woop woop’, it’s Friday after all! Smile
brummie hope you’re ok, hoping that Coventry is not too far in the future and your body sorts itself out.
barking hope your follicles are coming along nicely. Wink Next scan next Thursday, should be about 11 weeks – further that I would have ever got before, would be exciting. Only a million years to wait to find out. Hmm
pop glad Liverpool are checking everything so thoroughly. No experience to help you with I am afraid but I hope you get some answers in a few weeks.
march hope the appointment this afternoon is helpful.
flen enjoy your pots of urine! Ahhh, the things we find to do on a Friday afternoon!
queen I am so sorry to hear about your losses, all of them but especially this recent one. I am afraid I don’t know about the blood taken in hospital, I have never had this. Flowers

bakingtins · 13/03/2015 09:18

queen welcome, glad you decided to join us. I had blood and swabs taken after my second loss for infection, I would think this is what you've had. For most of the clotting tests etc they like to wait about 6 weeks to let your body settle down.

sebsmummy1 · 13/03/2015 09:19

I had two vials of blood taken at my pre-op consultation. No idea what that was for. The senior EPAU lady said that they would get me in around 6 weeks post surgery and take bloods from my partner and I to test for genetic stuff and then me on my own later to test for clotting etc.

bakingtins · 13/03/2015 09:20

bythesea I think I missd saying congrats on another positive scan and holding you in my thoughts for this next week.

QueenAngst · 13/03/2015 09:20

Thanks everyone. I'm so impatient! I want to know everything now. Better take a chill pill and settle in for the ride x

Marchgirl · 13/03/2015 09:29

Sorry to hear of your losses queen. Is not nice that you have to be here, but it's been a huge support to me. Hope it will be to you too.

It was someone else that first mentioned the boy immune thing bootles (maybe biscuits?), i'd never heard about it but did some research which i found really enlightening. Found a pdf about it that i thought was interesting. I'll try and find it again and post if i can

Jady77 · 13/03/2015 09:37

Welcome Queen, hope you find it useful here. I only had bloods taken for blood clotting a few weeks after mc.

Flen good luck with OPKs, I've not had any success with them so far, had faint and slightly darker lines, but no positives. Think I was doing them too late in the day though. Will aim for mid afternoon when I start in about a weeks time, reminders set up on phone.

Happy Friday all.

Marchgirl · 13/03/2015 10:19

I'm actually not sure whether to post this, as it's a bit of a mindbender and probably not actually relevant to many of you but i will anyway, as people have been discussing it and it's only a Google search away. Please feel free to just ignore.
It's hugely complicated and scientific and i don't understand most of it, but it discusses immune responses in secondary rmc and secondary infertility compared to primary rmc and controls. Although the boy thing was v interesting the thing that struck me was the differences between primary and secondary rmc for some of the testing. It links straight to a download of a pdf by the way.

Minnie74 · 13/03/2015 10:35

Morning everyone!

Welcome queen so sorry you have to be here but the ladies on here are lovely and so knowledgeable too. No ideas for the bloods as we have to go back in six weeks for ours too.

flen good luck with the sticks and getting to Coventry.

bythesea sticky thoughts during your wait till the next scan. The weeks are so long when you're waiting.

freckle and bootles I'm another one wishing I'd met Dh sooner. 40 and counting here too. This last MC due date would have just squeaked in before I hit 41. I hate that age automatically gives doctors (the uninterested ones anyway) an out.

pop thanks for explaining. I understand the bollox! A diagnosis means things to try though I guess, doesn't it. I know you're at the Leeds rmc too. Was going to Liverpool the way you found this out? Just wondering whether it's worth looking at other clinics once we've been to the Leeds one. Although I am massively ahead of myself there as no idea what they will find!

Once you have your bloods done after six weeks, how long does it take for those results to come back? And is that the start of a plan? I'm desperate to moving on finding things out and then ttc again.

sebsmummy1 · 13/03/2015 10:40

Minnie I too would have come in just before I was 41 if this pregnancy had worked out. Somehow that helped at the time, of course now I just hit myself with my age stick constantly.

When I got pregnant as 37 I honestly thought I had plenty of time to squeeze two out. Of course the reality was 9 months gestation then one year breast feeding and suddenly I was 39 and infertile. Didn't see it coming at all stupidly.

Minnie74 · 13/03/2015 10:51

Thanks for the link march very interesting (and complicated!) about secondary rmc after a boy and the immune reactions too. It's such a complicated area in general. I ordered the Alan Beer book Is your body baby friendly? Immune and clotting issues seem to feature largely there too. Too tricky to understand for a non scientist like me but I got the gist. I liked the positive success stories at the end though!

bythesea82 · 13/03/2015 10:53

minnie think results vary but mine were about 4 weeks.

OP posts:
Minnie74 · 13/03/2015 10:55

Cross post sebs we are so similar in the timings of everything. In hindsight I wish we'd started trying again almost instantly! It took a year to sort my cycles out once we did start trying- that was more wasted time. Time time time! I just don't think I have enough now!

sebsmummy1 · 13/03/2015 10:57

Although there was an article in the Mail earlier this week where the woman was 52 and had fallen pregnant naturally and had a healthy baby. I have to say that cheered me right up Grin happily ignoring the face it's a 1 in 1000000 type of story

Brummiegirl15 · 13/03/2015 11:42

Hi Queen glad you've found us, these ladies are ace and the thread is a huge support. Whether to ask questions, have a rant ( usually after a stupid comment) or have a hand hold.

Well AF has pretty much finished now, so I will start testing on the opk's from day 7 again and if my cycle is back to normal then I should ovulate on day 9 or 10. Only thing is, if it decides to be 37 days again...

My acupuncturist was dead excited it was 37 days , he reckons it means the acupuncture has worked... Er I'd rather not stay at 37 days thanks!

I admit I do really like the cb dual hormone opk's. I'm naughty and test twice a day from about day 9 Grin so I don't miss it. They are expensive but because I've always ovulated quite early I have shedloads of sticks left over so I can pee happily to my hearts content.

Counting I'm still keeping everything crossed for you..

Freckle and Bootles I hear ya ladies, really wish I'd met DP earlier. I'm 39 this year and he's 46 - I can't help it, it does really bother me. But DP refuses to get upset and says we can't change it so why get upset...

Come on little eggies - start thinking about ovulation so I can rebook Coventry!!!

sebsmummy1 · 13/03/2015 11:59

Brummie I also think it's a good thing if your cycles get longer so can totally understand your acupuncturists excitement. It's more difficult to get pregnant and stay pregnant with short cycles simply because the eggs aren't as mature as they should be and the lack of oestrogen in the first part of the cycle impacts that quality of the lining re. implantation.

If my acu lady can get my cycles longer post MC I will be buying her flowers Smile
