Wow Barking that's come up quickly. Good luck with it, will be thinking of you x

Jady77 · 22/02/2015 20:32

Hope it goes well tomorrow Barking, best of luck

You're nearly there Tanny, hold on there. Hand holding all the way and beyond

twilightstruggle · 22/02/2015 20:45

Massive luck for tomorrow Barking!

Justonemoretime · 22/02/2015 20:49

Good luck, Barking. Everything crossed for you. x

barkingtreefrog · 22/02/2015 21:04

Aw, thanks everyone, you've got me all emotional! Tomorrow we find out timescales and treatment plan, I'm assuming long protocol but have lots of questions about how long I'll be downregging, how many eggs they are aiming for, whether they will adjust the dose if I seem to be over or under-responding, whether the luteal support will be the same as the iui (200mg cyclogest) or whether it will be 400mg, and the star question - when do I start the aspirin and dalteparin (for the iui it was from bfp if successful, but I know others who have had it earlier in ivf), and is there a hope in hell I could get prednisolone on a just in case basis....
Also questions about having a scratch and embryo glue....
Need to make a list....

twilightstruggle · 22/02/2015 21:08

Sounds like a pretty big day all in all! Really hoping you get the answers from them you're hoping for. Is it with the same people you did the iui with?

Flower29 · 22/02/2015 21:15

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow barking! A list might be a good idea! Shock

Welcome to the board littlebear and I'm very sorry for your losses.

I also found box sets were a god send and decorating helped to occupy me but I didn't have to concentrate too much. I also found steering clear of depressing music and playing more upbeat positive stuff helped.

sebs whenever you get those thoughts please post on here and know you're not alone. I also agree that being on your own for long periods of time may not be a good idea. Perhaps you could arrange for a close friend or family member to visit (who you know would be helpful).

barkingtreefrog · 22/02/2015 21:20

Yes twilight, and it's the same consultant that we saw in the infertility clinic, and who agreed to refer us to the rmc after only 2 mc's as they were both following fertility treatment. And he's overseen both cycles of iui. So I'm really hoping he can use everything he knows about us and come up with the magic answer!

tannyLoo · 22/02/2015 21:24

Yes, and the type of box set was important. Nothing too emotional, gruesome or taxing suited me. Star Trek Voyager was nerdy but perfect. hangs head in shame

twilightstruggle · 22/02/2015 21:32

That sounds positive Barking - I'm them knowing you well will be a good thing.

Thanks for the advice re. box sets today. We went with wildlife documentaries in the end. Something quite calming and not too taxing.

Waves at newbies and sorry you find yourselves here.

bakingtins · 22/02/2015 22:06

Good luck for tomorrow barking

lovely news about resipsa Smile

HUGS for those of you finding it especially tough at the moment. There is always hope.

Barking , my very good friend has her IVF appointment tomorrow too and she's doing scratch and glue too. Fingers crossed for you!!

I'm spotting and a bit crampy - hopefully AF will soon be here then I'll ovulate then get my Cov appt.

Feel disappointed I'm not seeing consultant tomorrow after being so emotionally invested in that date but reminding myself it's fate so I can go to Coventry

Hugs to everyone feeling low this weekend

ourdaywillcome1983 · 22/02/2015 22:43

barking good luck for tomorrow!!! My friend has her 1.5yo DS as a result of IVF at that very clinic.

I also watched a lot of tv following my mcs, Big Bang theory was my choice. My mum also picked me up and babysat me when dh had to go back to work after the first couple of days.

CharlieCooke · 23/02/2015 05:28

Hi Everybody can I join you?

My stats:

DD1 born after a blissfully naive easy pregnancy in 2013
Natural mc 5 weeks in May 2014
Mmc at 9 weeks in August 2014 - baby measured 6 weeks
Mmc at 7 weeks in Jan 2015 - baby hadnt developed past a yolk sac.

I had an ERPC after mc 3 and got the results yesterday. Baby had no genetic problems at all. All my initial blood results came back negative too.

Im not in the UK so not working on the NHS route but after going through the results with my Dr he has suggested a few things so would love some advice from your collective wisdom.

He has suggested a hysteroscopy to check for scarring from my C section. I can have this done this week but just wondered how long it can take to recover from this to be able to TTC again?

He has also said my Dh and I can go for a chromosome blood test to check for translocations. My question is that if this is the problem surely this would have shown up in the last mc tissue results and it couldnt have been normal?

Iv read quite a bit on here about the Nk cell tests you can get in Coventry. My dr here has suggested that next time I get pregnant that he would just try steroids anyway without any Nk tests as he said although it is still quite controversial it cant hurt the baby anyway if we try it along with injectable anti coagulants and progesterone. What are your thoughts on this?

Sorry for the really long post - my head is a bit all over the place at the moment and thanks in advance for any answers.

Lovemylittlebear · 23/02/2015 06:06

Hi guys

Thanks so much for the lovely messages :) sorry that you are all on the same shit train...lol it's a bit like th east coast network down here...shite journey and expensive lol. I will call my gp and ask for another referral (when I called the gynae department they said...sorry our cancer patients take priority and they made me feel awful....but surely they should have a different set up for rmc and cancer patients?). I will also book myself in for Coventry protocol - does anyone have a contact number for this I can call please? I need a HSG doing coz of the ectopic and when I had my little girl the placenta got stuck and Dr had to stick his hand up there and pull it out so I want rule out the possibility of it not being a bit damaged lol. We defo can't afford private as partner was out of work for a while and only been back in work since May so still working our way out of that situation...I'm self employed so I can't stay at home and hide under the duvet unfortunately...wish I could though :(

Thanks for your advice...feel better having a starting point to get on with today. Funnily enough when I had the ectopic I was working in london and I went to Saint marys...they are so much better than the (centre of excellence in Cardiff) and the staff were better trained in how to deal with an emotional wreck lol.... Xxx

sebsmummy1 · 23/02/2015 06:14

4am wake up as is normal right now. DP downloaded four seasons of Game of Thrones for me and I've just watched my third. Very good! Lots of sex and gore although of course one of the Queens has just got pregnant and I'm jealous of her youth but that's my everyday thought right now regardless if whether I see it on the screen or the street.

At the hospital today, just need tomorrow over with so I can get these hormones gone and start bleeding.

Marchgirl · 23/02/2015 07:11

Welcome newbies and really sorry you find yourselves here Having been through such an awful time.reading through all the stats makes me realise what a lot of us have had a completely normal pregnancy first. There must be something in that.
brummie, sorry you're missing out on the appointment but I think you're right, it's meant to be so that you can do Coventry. So wish i had done that rather than being so impatient.
Charlie, welcome. What Country Are you In? Sorry, i don't know about the hysteroscopy recovery time. From what i gather though, it's just a camera up there,so unless you need treatment I'm not sure there would be a recovery time as such. However i bow to anyone else's superior knowledge on this
I guess the karyotyping for you and dh (for translocations) must be in case two things are going on at once, so any tranlocation wasn't passed on to this one but could have been to the previous ones. I think it's probably very unlikely and the nhs (in Scotland at least) recently changed their protocol to not test the parents unless the foetus indicated it. You would need to be very unlucky to have a quite rare genetic thing and another issue as well.
I know one of our posters boozle, was prescribed prednisolone on a just in case basis as she wasn't able to get testing before falling pregnant. Several others on the board past and present have taken it. There is also another board that discusses it i gather, pregnant on pred. Also someone else will be along here to speak about it. Good luck.
Littlebear, sorry the gynae were unhelpful and made you feel guilty. Sounds like a referral somewhere else would be good. People on here may be able to recommend somewhere close to you that you could suggest. June is surely too long, it'd send you nuts waiting till then.

sebs, sorry you are having night waking. I was having that last week and my acupuncturist put a couple of extra needles in for it. Might help for you too ? I also watched a lot of box sets and played a lot of crappy phone games to take my mind off things. Think I've now got a bit addicted as I can't seem to stop now!

Flen · 23/02/2015 07:12

sebs I'm a 4am waker too, you have my sympathy! Game of Thrones is great, but is very gory! We watched The Good Wife, Orange is the New Black, Ru Paul's Drag Race (!!!) and Angel (SO nerdy!). Hang on in there.

Hope it goes well today barking

Hi Charlie sounds like you have been very thorough! There are a few of us on here who have had chromosomally normal babies and normal tests too. My understanding is that a translocation isn't likely if you have had chromosomally normal results. There are women on here too who have taken the steroids, I'm sure they will be along shortly to tell you about it!

Justonemoretime · 23/02/2015 07:34

Morning Ladies, welcome newbies. I'm sorry to see so many new sad stories, but hopefully we can offer some support.
Charlie, with a hysteroscopy recovery depends on what they find and what they do. If its just a look, I should think a few days for any bleeding to settle would be fine. If they do anything (I had a septum removed) it will be a coil and hrt for a month to aid healing and prevent the sides adhering. Good luck.
Sebs, game of thrones is excellent but (avoiding spoilers) find out which episode has the 'red wedding' in it and don't watch it alone. Even for GOTs, its grim.
Sending you fertility vibes for today, Brummie.

Justonemoretime · 23/02/2015 07:38

oops, I mean Barking (although obvs to Brummie and everyone who needs them, too. And healing ones to those who need them.)

bootles · 23/02/2015 07:49

Welcome newbies, sorry you find yourselves here.

littlebear google prof brosens and prof quenby's implantation clinic - its the university hospital of warwick, in coventry. Kerri is the contact person and she's very helpful. Sorry cant work out how to get number off phone on to here at the mo.

charlie the medication protocol you describe is what coventry use if high uNK cells are found. I was on it last time but unfortunately it still ended badly. Many others have had success on it though.

I agree that a translocation sounds unlikely, but its something else to put a line through. St Mary's rmc didn't accept the chromosomally normal result i got with my 4th, saying that not all the chromosomes were looked at (it will say which ones on the documentation). However a genetic counsellor I have stayed in touch with said they looked at the chromosomes where problems are normally found, and it is v likely it was indeed chromosomally normal. Its very frustrating. She said its always possible there was a tiny change which wouldn't be picked up on the test, and could still be the cause, but its really very unlikely. Chromosomally, things are in your favour if you have a child, as you know your combination of genes can work If you get the karyotyping for yourself and your dh, then its another thing you can rule out.

Many people on here have a child, and about 1 in 3 who attend the clinic in coventry do too, according to prof brosen. One theory is that pg somehow changes your body and sparks an immune response - which high uNK are an indicator of.

Sorry that was a bit rushed and garbled..on phone on bus to work..

bootles · 23/02/2015 07:55

barking great the clinic are seeing you so soon, hope it goes well today and your questions get answered.

sebs try and remember that it really will get a little easier to bear than it is at the moment, keep talking to us, and most definitely to people in RL too.

twilight, yes its sad that your dh said that, that you are in a situation where that entered his head. I hope you are doing ok.

Boozle80 · 23/02/2015 08:05

Morning all, sorry, super quick post as running late this morning after being a complete insomniac who kept dreaming that her waters had broken at 20 weeks throughout the night!
Littlebear just to echo what *March said. I had normal foetus testing and then fell pregnant within three weeks of my ERPC so they weren't able to test me so to speak. They put me on heparin, prednisolone and progesterone. I think I was incredibly lucky with my consultant being sympathetic to RMC though and not worrying too much about her budget. Something worked as I'm now 21 weeks pregnant. Just be aware the progrsterone can have side effects both for you and baby although I didn't find it so bad and the scans show the baby is absoloutly fine so far.

mrsdiddlydoo · 23/02/2015 08:11

Sorry to see some more new faces on here but you've come to the right place.

I feel more confused than ever. Dh thinks we should give Coventry a shot even without other tests because it would help me feel like we're doing something and not just waiting for mc3. I am appreciating more and more each day that mc2 has really taken its toil on me. There's this big part of me that just wants to believe nothing is wrong with me and everything will be fine but I can't figure anything out. So even though he's said that I still don't know what to do. A month off TTC would be good for me but its so difficult agreeing. If anyone feels like kicking me into shape please do. I don't seem to be able to help myself. Not helped by ov being imminent.

Grrr Monday again. Hope peoples appointments go to plan this week
