I've forgotten, Did your others start naturally tanny and were they on time?

longestlurkerever · 25/02/2015 13:41

That's annoying tanny! Hope they return with a vengeance soon. xx

Flower29 · 25/02/2015 14:48

march I don't have a date yet for Coventry but going by my cycle app I'm guessing it will be around 13th apr.

freckle sorry work is very hard at the moment. I 2nd having more time off if you need it. It's not fair on yourself and if you're struggling to focus at work the kids might not be getting as much from you as normal, iyswim. You need to put yourself first. Take care x

Awwh tanny, I suppose baby will come out when they're good n ready and in the meantime it's snug in the loveliest of places. Smile

Flower29 · 25/02/2015 14:50

buthesea good luck for your scan this afternoon.
Good luck to you too ourday for tomorrow.

Marchgirl · 25/02/2015 15:15

Aha! I might see you there flower, as that is the approximate date i think I'll be there. But obviously depends on what happens with my cycle before then

Brummiegirl15 · 25/02/2015 15:25

Looking at my cycles I reckon I will be at Coventry 13th or 16th March.

Desperately want AF to come now - now we've established I'm not duffed up - so I can ovulate and then get my appointment!

Freckle so sorry you are struggling. When I went back I did 2 weeks of half days and I think Jady is currently doing the same and it really helped. It just eased the pressure. I'm now on my 2nd week of full days.

Ah Tanny we thought this was it! Aah well, we will be waiting for imminent good news

Baking how is Faith getting on?

Lovemylittlebear · 25/02/2015 15:39

Hi guys, is anyone else really struggling with it all? I'm just trying to remind myself that it got easier the first two times and that this time will too but it bloody feels so shit doesn't it? Just been hit by the unlucky catchphrase again by the Gp lol and I hit him with a barrage of info I found off the internet. It's times like this I wish I had a different job where I could sit in the back ground rather than being the one that everyone has to look at all day and talk about stuff lol it's really odd pretending to smile...I never really noticed where your mouth goes when you smile before but when you forcing it. It's like a mini work out lol. X

bythesea82 · 25/02/2015 16:14

Ah Tanny sorry you're a bit fed up but I am sure it won't be long now...

freckle I think that there are a lot of us who have mentioned how MC seems to really knock confidence and self belief. I think you have to give yourself time for it to slowly rebuild. In a job like yours, that's a tough ask.

Sounds like Coventry is going be packed in the next few months. Looking forward to hearing how people find it.

littlebear Sorry you're struggling, it will get easier in time but that doesn't help a whole lot for right now - big hugs.

Well the scan was ok although I came away feeling strangely more on edge than when I went in. Thought I was about 7+6 and they said about 7. That's ok, never track when I ovulate so could easily be a few days out. Heartbeat seen, no real reassurance for me there, seen in all previous 3. I guess perhaps it's starting to sink in and seem more real? Anyhow, ok for now, scan again next wednesday. 9 -10 week is my danger zone so probably have another week or so before I am really scared!

sebsmummy1 · 25/02/2015 16:49

Can I check it's those that have had surgical options how long you bled for? I'm surprised how light my bleeding is as I only have my natural MCs as reference and the bleeding went on and on and on. I think the nurse said I lost quite a lot of blood during the op so that might explain why it's quite light now.

Mum has just gone home and is coming up again tomorrow then I have Friday on my own. Hate that I'm scared of my own company, I need to find some peace again somehow Sad

Sunandrainbow · 25/02/2015 16:49

sea - really pleased that your scan went well. I think with our histories, it is very very natural to still worry even when you have had what most ("normal" - sigh) pregnant people would consider a really reassuring scan. Great that you only have to wait a week for the next one. And don't feel guilty about getting a scan - there is a lot of evidence that women who have reassurance scans have a lower mc rate.

freckle - completely with you on the confidence thing. For a long time I felt completely broken confidence wise. I do feel that I am recovering it now, but has been a slow process and I had to do some really conscience things - exercising, reading the paper on the way to work, getting one nice thing planned in the diary in advance each week - as otherwise I just obsessed over pg, mc, mn etc and couldn't focus on anything else. I even wrote down all the little 'achievements' at the end of each day, which for me definitely helped get back on track.

ourday - very best of luck for the scan tomorrow. Have everything crossed for you.

x

Sunandrainbow · 25/02/2015 16:55

Hey seb. I've had three erpcs. Had quite heavy bleeding for a week with the first one and then lighter bleeding for the second week. Second one was similar but only lasted a week. This last one was very little bleeding at all. I had none for the first three days and then a little for a couple of days (barely enough to bother with a pad) and that was it. Have now had two afs after the last mc and they have been completely back to normal. X

Brummiegirl15 · 25/02/2015 16:59

Sebs my bleeding was really light after ERPC no 1 (2nd mc) and lasted about a day

ERPC number 2 (3rd mc) there was nothing, no blood at all. But then a few days later (the Wednesday after a Saturday night op) I had 24 hours of quite heavy bleeding but then it stopped quite quickly. I say heavy though, it was heavy for me (as I have v light AF's) but it certainly wasn't gushing

littlebear sometimes it still doesn't feel real to me. Can't quite believe I've lost 3

bythesea so glad your scan was good. My danger period was 8-9 weeks so I understand how you must be feeling. Fingers crossed for next week Flowers

Flen · 25/02/2015 17:26

sebs my bleeding was light to begin with, then maybe 36 hours later it went through a heavy patch. I think it can vary...

sebsmummy1 · 25/02/2015 18:27

Gosh that's quite amazing really, what the hell happens to the thick uterine lining then? Does it tend to fall out during the op? I'm so used to 2 weeks of constant bleeding with my miscarriages, this is like heaven by comparison.

So what happens after the bleeding stops? Is that just a case of HCG going down and then a period arriving?

Brummiegirl15 · 25/02/2015 18:32

Yes exactly that. They get rid of everything during op so literally nothing left. It's why I prefer it. Quick and clean. Wake up all over.

I know some people prefer the cathartic feeling of passing everything. Not me. The thought of passing the sac really frightened me and I was scared I wouldn't cope.

So first ERPC took me 2 weeks to get a negative test and AF arrived exactly 2 weeks later (so 28 days after ERPC)

2nd ERPC it took me 3 weeks 1 day to get a negative and then AF appeared about a week later so all in all my AF's took 4 weeks to appear after ERPC but for me that is late as I have short cycles.

Both AF's were really light and short too

Flen · 25/02/2015 18:34

sebs for me it took longer than brummie to get a negative test the second time, but the first time, AF arrived bang on 4 weeks later.

Flower29 · 25/02/2015 18:34

Sorry you're struggling littlebear Flowers I hope the dark clouds lift a little soon.

brummie and march I'll let you know what date I end up getting, would be good to see each other there and put a face (and real name) to the name. Smile

Brummiegirl15 · 25/02/2015 18:37

That would be lovely ladies! A bit of a Coventry get together!!!

sebsmummy1 · 25/02/2015 18:40

That feels quite positive for me as again I am used to it taking ages and ages to get a BFN and of course that then impacts on my fertility for ages. This really does feel so brilliant by comparison. I guess I will just try to go by what my body is doing but I have never ovulated in my WTF cycle. Always bleed for two weeks, then nothing or a bit of spotting for a week and a half, then AF then a short cycle, etc etc.

sebsmummy1 · 25/02/2015 18:41

I do have another question. Are those who are referring to Coventry doing so because they got no answers from NHS testing? Say they come back to me and say that the baby had a chromosome issue and that's why it didn't progress. Would you still go to Coventry or would you just try again?

bakingtins · 25/02/2015 18:47

I think, unless you are in the situation where you can only face one final roll of the dice and want to throw absolutely everything at it, if you get an answer from standard tests or genetics on the baby I would probably try again on whatever protocol is recommended. It is quite common to be left with no answers though. The posters saying we are not one homogenous mass are quite right, an individual approach is needed.

sebsmummy1 · 25/02/2015 18:51

Thanks baking. It just felt that this time my body did everything right and the baby couldn't make it for whatever reason. In the past it always felt like my body let the pregnancy down if that makes sense.

Lovemylittlebear · 25/02/2015 19:10

What's an ERPC? I haven't been offered any medical intervention just told I will misscarry over the next few weeks and they will check my bloods. One good thing about this stupid miscarriage is the fact I am losing some weight lol and doing a spot of painting...we Re getting married next year so might even indulge in a spot of wedding dress shopping which haven't done yet. Anyone else managing to do anything nice for themselves? I'm treating my toes to a manicure tomo and my moustache to a well deserved wax haha x

Justonemoretime · 25/02/2015 19:23

Littlebear, its the rather unpleasantly named evacuation and removal of the products of conception. It's strange how they offer different things in different areas. I've had an ERPC every time (first two had retained products due to a undiagnosed uterine septum. When I had it done with ultrasound guidance I got a -ive hpt after 2 weeks and then af exactly 28 days later.

Sebs, I had a variety of bleeding after erpcs, as long as its not gushing or soaking a pad in less than an hour, you can consider it normal. Look after yourself.

RE Coventry, I honestly wish I'd been after mc#1, since it seems to have been what sorted me out in the end. OK, so mc#3 was a random genetic issue, but it seems to be the heparin and progesterone that's done the job. If I had known about it and been I reckon baby #2 could have been saved. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but that's my opinion.

sebsmummy1 · 25/02/2015 19:30

Is there a link to the Coventry tests or do you just ring and book? I think I have to wait two cycles and then book for after ovulation, is that right?
