Information, support, hand holding, tea, sympathy and a hell of a lot of combined knowledge - all welcome as we try to make sense of the RMC roller coaster of tests, NHS admin, heart ache and (hopefully) happy endings!
Please start with a recap of your stats :)

Thank you all - now waiting!

tiny yes she probably will, during mc1 I had a heavily pregnant nurse discussing maternity jeans with the others whilst I was sat sobbing. She then did my bloods twice (to make sure hcg was falling) during that time. I know they have to work but surely they can be moved around?

Hand holding Ourday. xx

ourday - really hoping scan is going well x

Boozle80 · 28/01/2015 09:16

There was a pregnant nurse / doctor / sonographer (not sure what her job was) who was visibly pregnant at my epu and she was about in the background but wasn't anywhere near the patients or the waiting room as soon as you could see she was pregnant. You just see her walking around with files at the end of the corridor so I think she must be on admin duties - my epu is quite tuned into stuff like that though so I think they must be the exception rather than the rule...
Thinking of you lots Ourday

Sunandrainbow · 28/01/2015 09:17

tiny - my sonographer at the epu looked around 6 months pregnant.

Flen · 28/01/2015 09:29

Hope it' going ok ourday

cloudjumper · 28/01/2015 09:30

ourday Crossing everything for you

tiny I've had a very visibly pg consultant examining me when they found my first mc and were worried about an infection. I nearly commented when she walked in, but then just ranted away inside my head.
But I agree that in an ideal world, there should be no pg people looking after mc patients, it's really rubbing it in, isn't it! Last thing you want to see at that point.

Got my consultant appointment this evening, feeling a bit apprehensive... And cross with DH (again) who very obviously has no interest in this whatsoever and doesn't really understand what we will be doing there. Guess who will be doing all the talking Angry

ourdaywillcome1983 · 28/01/2015 09:34

Everything is fine, can't stop crying, measuring 2 days ahead. Thank you all for your hand holding and being here.

Good luck with your consultant appointment cloud

Sunandrainbow · 28/01/2015 09:36

ourday - yay!!!!!! Brilliant news! Smile x

TinyTear · 28/01/2015 09:38

Hope you are being seen ourday

So it seems a mixed bag, some places put pregnant women in the background, others continue with their duties... I guess if there is a staff shortage, they can't just take them out...

I think how I'd handle it would depend, at first 3mcs i would really really really have hated it and probably asked for someone else... the last 2 peobably been a bit more philosophical...

cloud hope all goes well this evening... and kick your DH in the bottom! he needs to show an interest as well

Justonemoretime · 28/01/2015 09:38

So pleased Ourday, enjoy a day of relaxation and feeling relief!

Good luck for tonight cloud. Hope you get some clarity and that your oh tries a bit harder

Evahopeful39 · 28/01/2015 10:01

Just had email from Coventry. I can't get over how simple this looks. I am bloody angry that I've had to find out about this through this forum rather than my GP or consultant, can't help feeling they've let me down.
All of you ladies who've advised me this week I owe you big time Smile

ourdaywillcome1983 · 28/01/2015 10:04

Thank you all, you're all so lovely. Im 8 weeks today on my dates tiny but measuring 8+2 - see how long I can allow myself to relax.

TinyTear · 28/01/2015 10:14

ourday knowing me you can relax about 4 days then start stressing again!
Grin

When are they seeing you again? my EPU sent me home after the 8w scan to wait for the 12w, and that was why I booked Harmony for 10w...

TinyTear · 28/01/2015 10:15

Eva good luck with Coventry! We have a few pompom holders for them here... me included... rah rah rah!

Brummiegirl15 · 28/01/2015 10:16

our day woo hoo congrats!!!! Sooo pleased for you. I've never had a good follow up scan either so I feel your pain. Great news.

Good luck Cloud be interesting to see what your consultant says.

Eva great news about response from Coventry. People say great things about it.

I'm going to give my consultant a chance first and see what happens but Coventry is my back up plan

ourdaywillcome1983 · 28/01/2015 10:45

Thanks brummie that's what I did and tried the consultant first, so far so good, touch wood and all that. I'm sure given the reputation yours has at Worcester you will feel in good hands.

Yes tiny I'll go back to default scared soon! I see them again at 10 week but me and dh said we would book a private one in for 10 weeks if they discharged me til 12. How does the harmony work?

longestlurkerever · 28/01/2015 10:51

Woohoo ourday! 8 weeks and healthy is a huge milestone! Delighted!

Good luck today cloud! I hope you get some clarity and reassurance.

eva really pleased you got a swift response. I am another who decided on one last roll of the dice before visiting but I emailed kerri a couple of times and found her really helpful.

Crazy day today. Have to go into work twice with a nursery run in tge middle but currently having coffee byy myself while dd tries preschool gymnastics. Fx she likes it as I could get used to this! X

TinyTear · 28/01/2015 10:58

Harmony was a scan + blood test and then 2 weeks later another detailed scan and the results tell you the risk for several trisomys - 21, 18 and 13 - and if you want you can find the sex as well...

I did mine here: www.fetalmedicine.com/harmony-test

also because I am 41 so at higher risk naturally

Flower29 · 28/01/2015 11:38

Wonderful news ourday! Grin
Hope the appointment goes ok tonight cloud
