Welcome everyone - pull up a chair! A thread for anyone who has suffered multiple miscarriages and is in need of information, moral support, tea or sympathy. Newbies very welcome.

Can we start the thread with a recap of where we are all up to again, please?

Butterfly it's lovely to hear from you again. I'm so pleased for you! Enjoy your baby girl xxx

Hello everyone. Just found out why my pelvic scan appt hadn't come through a month on - it was because they had forgotton to put me on the waiting list. They also took the wrong tests for sticky blood at the GP and had to re-do (despit asking them to make sure it was the right one). They are now back as a negative... and I think they panicked when I called about the scan as they are seeing me as soon as I'm back from hols in couple of weeks. I'm quite narked as just want to get on with things- and instead of even getting to do a 2ww I got a period on day 17. So at least I can eat brie and drink wine in France now Wink Anyway- think my point is, if you don't hear back, do call them in case you've slipped through the net. Its hard not to feel the pressure of every passing month. Wishing you all good things and glad to hear of the wonderful news of the arrival butterfly's baby- gives me hope! x x x

swlondonnanny · 24/06/2014 16:15

You are so right Betty took 14 months to get results of the karyotype test me and my DH had done!!!
Congratulations Butterfly

Fall, it must be so hard abroad. I've only just started on the mc tests journey so have limited advice on what you should ask for. I know the ladies on here will guide you though.

Butterfly, massive congrats on your baby girl. Hope to be joining you in the world of motherhood very soon.

XxX

cocomom25 · 24/06/2014 17:40

Hi ladies hope today is better than yesterday....

Butterfly congrats that's a good weight!!! what protocol did you use, if you don't mind.

Fall, I hope your body gets on board with you. hugs

Cat, thanks for the well wishes but I'm not pregnant honey I'm soon to be 26 years old. It looks like my children will be 8-9 yrs apart.

I'm taking aspirin this cycle in hopes to get past my 4th week of pregnancy.

To top my pain my younger sister is pregnant with her 4th (she just told me)! The last one she threw away! The one before that she hid and didn't get prenatal care until her 8th month! Life is crazy I had my son at 19 for my high school sweetheart. My son has a fatal disease SMA1 but is lovely and normal in personality. I recently married and now realize that I hadn't been avoiding pregnancy. It is pregnancy that's been avoiding me. This is all very humbling.

Justonemoretime · 24/06/2014 17:50

Congratulations Butterfly, so pleased that you got your happy ending! X
Waves to everyone! Phew it's hot!

bakingtins · 24/06/2014 18:05

welcome pig but sorry you find yourself needing to join us. it's not silly to grieve for a lost LO no matter how early, all your hopes and dreams for them are formed as soon as you see a line on a test. To have that promise ripped away over and over is soul destroying. Being finally taken seriously and having access to tests can be helpful in itself, hopefully it will bring you some answers and hope for the future.

coco I think you meant you are about to be 26 yrs old unimaginable youth ? Don't worry about age gaps, big ones can work just as well as small ones. make sure your chemical pregnancies are all documented in your medical notes, they "count" towards eligibility for testing just like any other first trimester mc.

catlover good luck for your appointment. there is mixed press for baby aspirin. it's definitely useful if you have a diagnosed clotting disorder, it's often recommended as a " just in case" treatment, but there is some evidence it can interfere with implantation. One to quiz your consultant about.

fall if you want to know more about NK cells check out a thread on conception called "TTC or pregnant on pred". There are several doctors based in London who use blood tests, or the Coventry profs who several of us have seen who use a uterine biopsy. if you have high levels you are treated with prednisolone ( Coventry) or pred plus other immune modulating treatments in London ( IVIG, intralipids, humira etc) It's not approved by NICE and is controversial, but a lot of women (me included) attribute successful pregnancies to this treatment.

cocomom I was on progesterone pessaries until 12 weeks, aside from that we had a 6 month break before trying again as I'd had 4 miscarriages in 11 months and I had Accupuncture before and throughout my pregnancy we will never know if any of those things made a difference but I would have done anything.

cocomom25 · 24/06/2014 19:19

Baking, congrats on your little one! Youth is in the eye of the beholder! Just kidding but most people think I'm a decade older. Judging my fertility right now, my body may think so as well! Thanks for the laugh, it did cheer me up.

Butterfly, sorry about your previous loss. That is wonderful everything seemed to work out. I have heard so many great things about acupuncture. I may look into it once my insurance clears. It is $80 a visit here and I'm not prepared to shell out of pocket until I get some testing done. So happy for you hun!

Catlover2014 · 24/06/2014 19:55

Coco, soooo sorry I misread :( What I wouldn't give to be 26 hehe. Seriously though know it must be very hard but stay positive if you can and focus on your DC while your waiting for the next. He or she will soon be here!

Bakingtins, tests results all back clear so not sure if we should take aspirin or not. Will see what my FC says.

I'm disappointed we don't have an easy to fix answer for what's happening. We did have chromosome blood tests taken but the hospital in Birmingham won't test on nhs unless we pay as we've only had two mc. I wish we'd been told that before they took all that blood!!

Feel sure I will mc again but guess we just have to go through with it to get more detailed results / support.

Just for you guys. I woke myself up with a really loud snore at the acupuncturists and could hear her giggling on the other side of the curtain! Blush Grin Blush Grin Blush

Justonemoretime · 24/06/2014 20:20

Lol, Tanny. Extra tiredness: check ;)

cocomom25 · 24/06/2014 20:24

Tanny, that's so funny! I'm sure you two got a good laugh! How are you doing during this 2ww?

Cat, my 26 and yours will be very different (too many tv dinners/ sugary drinks in my child hood) ;) I'm sorry you didn't get answers through the testing you've done so far. The good thing is that its very likely the next will stick around! When are you planning to try again? I will be in the race again in 10 days.

Catlover2014 · 24/06/2014 22:08

Haha Tanny that's hilarious!!! Sounds like you really needed the relaxation though so good for you!! Sorry if I've missed on the thread but are you waiting to see if you're BFP? I'll keep everything crossed for you!

Coco, yes we'll be starting to try next cycle so we can maybe buddy up if you fancy sending me a PM etc? When I was 26 I was still going clubbing and was very immature. Wish I'd settled my head down sooner and got married earlier but then everything is easy with heignsight!

I know what you say is true about the results and looking at it 'glass half full' it is good things are all clear. Really hoping it goes better next time, so ready to become a mummy now :)
