7 WEEKS ON FROM MY M/C AND NEED HELP/ADVICE

Hi ladies- I'm pretty new round here but I we share each others pain after m/c. Hope I'm welcome here as i have been TTC for 3 yrs and had a m/c on the 1 June.
BUT something odd has happened..I had what I thought was my 1st period after my m/c on the 5th july- it lasted for 3 days and i thought it short but put it down to the m/c etc.. Then on the 12th july i had smudging when i wiped myself- sorry if tmi- and this lasted for 2 or 3 days- that would have been cd7-9. I am now on what i believed to be cd17 and this morning the 10 -yes 10 - pg tests i ordered off ebay arrived. Could I resist doing one..? Could I hell and it came up faintly pos!!!! How come, could it be residual hormone left from the m/c...7-8 weeks ago? If my period was 5 July how could I show pg on day 17? Confused? Yup. Can't get hopes up as firstly I'm scared of hoping, scared of being pg after nightmare pg and m/c of twins at 12 weeks- they stopped dev at 6-7 weeks and just plain worried.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks alot.

If they really thought it was ectopic I don't think they would've let you go with out checking so try not to worry. take care of yourself xx

Rachee · 03/08/2006 07:59

Thinking of you Andi.......xXx but i agree with debs, they would have found eptopic on scan. they won't leave a suspected eptopic.....it's all a head game..... but we understand ! Post as soon as you know.

( First day of first period following m/c of twins. D & C was two and a half weeks ago). Nurse did say on the last scan, before d&c, she could see folicles on left ovarie.....

I had forgotton what a normal period was like, as was on clomid before getting pg. So i can now take another huge step forward xXx

andi0411 · 04/08/2006 23:49

Hi ladies- thanks for your kind words. Well I went for my second blood test yesterday and the lovely nurse called me in the afternoon to say it had dropped from 11 (on Tues) to 3 on Thurs. I wasn't at all suprised as on Wed morning I woke to severe m/c like pains and bleeding/ clots -sorry tmi- everything. Pain lasted a day then today it's light. I asked her if it could be normal period and she said yes or another m/c- one that a non ttc woman would not have noticed. we'll never know. At least hcg down to good level. Wonder if I was pg again......Anyway onto ttc again. thanks ladies xxx

had my consultaion today, and free to try again.... xXx

cd5 ( so almost finished for this month ) ( TMI)

andi0411 · 08/08/2006 14:11

hi Rachee- as you're on cd5 and I'm on cd8 we can support one another this month if you'd like to?
I know you m/c twins- like me- it's so hard isn't it?
Is this definately no more clomid for you now..that would be fab. Do you check temps /cervical mucous etc...I haven't really bothered- we just decided to bd as often as we could from cd 8 to cd 20- perhaps I should have as it took us years to conceive and then i m/c. i was just about to go to our local fertility clinic when i fell pg...so now I'm going to let things go for another 3-6 months and then get back onto them. this is my 2nd m/c all told and i don't want to wait 2 and a half yrs for it to end like this again. xxx

debz6108 - sorry I didn't reply to your question earlier, I didn't see it before now. one consulatant I saw said that physically there was no reason not to try for a baby immediately, then another one told me I should wait at least three months to give my body time to recover (bear in mind my m/c was 2nd trimester, not 1st). My GP also advised that I should wait to psychologically get over the grief. Me and DH didn't 'try' for a new baby but when I found myself pg again having conceived 2 wks after the m/c it was very hard emotionally and I definitely wasn't ready. Also physically the pregnancy was very painful almost all the time for the first 5/6 months - I don't think my body had had time to recover either.

Having now had time to look back and reflect - I'd say make the decision based on how you feel personally. Just be aware that pg after m/c can throw up some conflicting feelings, but MN is a great place for people to help you through that. And when the baby does arrive, well, nothing like it in the world

Rachee · 09/08/2006 23:09

Andi, yes, here for you ! xXx good luck. Keep me informed every day ish..... it is good to know we are not alone.

( cd7 )

andi0411 · 10/08/2006 01:34

Hi rachee- sorry i didn't respond earlier- not feeling too good today. Shivers/ high temp etc but as you can see up late due to sleeping all day and work to do on the pc!!
Nice to go thru this month together..thanks for that.
Today- thurs- cd 10 for me and cd 8 for you- started my strict bd'ing regime tonight, much to dp's delight. told him we have to bd at least once a day or every other day until cd20. he was dismayed....not.
Is it no more clomid for you now then?

Hi Rachee- lovely to hear from you. Feeling much better today thanks, still a bit achey but up and about. I'm sorry to hear you may have to go back on clomid if not successful this month- god lets keep our fingers crossed that you are. I don't know alot about clomid/fert drugs b'cause i was just about to start fert treatment when I fell pg this last time- then had m/c in June. I do know it can have side effects though and i hope you do it au naturel in order to avoid all of that!!
Well cd 10 for you and 12 for me- hows the bd'ing going- sings "like a virgin" lol!! As I don't actually know when i ov- I have not charted etc- I am on the every night/every other night regime.(prob for the rest of my life- just kidding!!) I spent 30 mins last night with my legs up the bedroom wall- sorry if tmi- read 3 chapters in my book-hee hee! I want it to be this month and the hosp told me you are more fert aft a pg of any kind...keeping them crossed for us !! Will e mail you later as I'm rambling and have 2000 things to do today xxx

Thanks for that link- that's a good site and I think that if this month is not my month then i will try them next time. Nothing to lose except a few quid and as you say it does help to not do it at the wrong time!!
Feeling very pre- menstual today, I wonder if this is a sign of ov for me..dulll lower ab pain, twinges and a bit sickly- what do you think? Any smptoms for you at the mo- what are the sticks saying?

Rachee · 16/08/2006 07:43

andi0411 · 16/08/2006 09:44

Morning Rachee- cd 16- glad you're back , missed my cycle bud!!
I'm doing ok, have bd so far cd9/ 11/ 12/ 14 and ... 16- today!!! LOL. Isn't it funny what we reveal about ourselves here in cyber space - I wouldn't dream of telling my colleagues/friends about my sex life- ah well the joys of ttc!!
Glad you're ov..if you're not knackered now, you will be ...get bd'ing! how's your other half about the mechanical side of ov/ bd'ing etc.. my dp's not bothered- he seems happy enough!! But seriously, I know some people can get stressy about it. I also know what you mean about almost fearing becoming pg again..the anxiety, stress, pain and loss- not something we want to ever contemplate can happen to us again. I keep myself going with the thought that I want a child more than I'm scared of the loss- that's not to say I can do this forever. 3m/c for me now..so time will tell. xx Ps-sorry so long- must have missed our chats.

OP posts:
Rachee · 16/08/2006 11:05

LOL, know what you mean about the ' tell all ' on our private lives..... there is something 'safe' in it, in knowing that you aren't going to walk down the street and pass me.... or i wouldn't know if you had. But it always feels better to 'share' the info. Especially as you know others are doing it too!

Yes, i really need to bk tonight, as didn't mon or tues, so it's now or never, tonight then friday i think for us will give us best chances of baby this month.

Getting over the scared thing as the day carries on, must be a pmt moment ! LOL...

Have fun xXx speak very soon.

andi0411 · 16/08/2006 19:22

Good luck tonight rachee- legs up and all that girl!!! Read a book or watch tv..passes 30 mins so quickly doesn't it?
Well have felt exceedingly bloated today and achey in the womb area..I really don't know my ovulating body that well but I'm learning. How're you feeling, anymore symptoms- does you stick still say yes to ov? Only 12 days till my period is due...I really want it to be this month- for us both.Keeping it all- bar the legs- well and truely crossed!! xx

I'm so sorry to hear of your sad loss.

I also suffered a missed M/C at 10 weeks. I had a D&C and a follow up check at my doctors nine weeks later. The doctor asked if I had a cycle since the op which I replied NO. He then asked me to take a pregnancy test as the procedure is carried out blind and there was a small chance they had missed the baby. The test was positive and I had to return to the hospital for a scan to see how much was left.
I was distraut at the thought of another procedure. After 9 weeks I was just starting to come to terms with it all and then had to go through it again.
I just remember the m/w asking how I felt about being pregnant as she examined me through a scan. I told her I was so happy. She then asked if I would like to try again to which I replied yes.

With that she showed me a little 7 and a half week old heartbeat and I now have my beautiful 3 yr old DD.

The procedure in itself had made me extremely fertile. just like you are after giving birth.

So there is hope and although you may not be ready to try again just yet I hope my story can inspire you to see a brighter future. I'll never forgot the little one I lost.

horseshoe · 17/08/2006 08:47

Sorry......copied and pasted story from another thread ......FINGERS CROSSED FOR YOU. XXXXXXX

andi0411 · 17/08/2006 20:45

Hi Horseshoe- thanks so much for this story- it's truely inspirational to me because i had tried so long to get pg and then the mc was so very painful- physically as much as mentally. I am so glad that this all turned out ok for you. What a lovely story of something wonderful coming from something so tragic. xxx

LOL.... know what you mean. I am still in the ovulating pain time. So moody with that. very very bloated this month.

Normal cycle used to be 18 days, before clomid and m/c. but 28 days has been right for the last 6 months or so. what about you? i will be testing 30th august ( as away for two days then, and want to know before i start throwing myself around with my godchildren! )....

xXx fingers and toes crossed
