IUI after miscarriage

Hi,

Just after abit of advice and support I suppose. We had a miscarriage at the start of October after our first iui attempt.
I think my period will be arriving over the next couple of weeks and am keen to start ttc as soon as possible. The clinic says we can start our second round of iui as soon as my first period arrives.

Has anyone done this? I am really worried about miscarrying again. Is there an increased risk of miscarriage with iui treatment?

I guess I'm just looking for other peoples experiences, before I start my journey again.

Thank you :)

You may get more answers/experiences if you ask on the infertility board
I would think that unless whatever issues give you difficulties getting pregnant also affect early pregnancy, then the miscarriage rate after IUI is likely to be similar to the background rate of about 15%. If the issue is dodgy sperm or eggs maybe you are more likely to get chromosone problems than the general population? Something to ask your centre.
It's always an anxious time trying again after a miscarriage, and it must be a real kick in the teeth to lose a pregnancy that was so hard-won in the first place. Very nice supportive TTC after MC thread here if you need some company on the journey.

Hello- sorry to hear about your miscarriage. We had 2 pregnancies that ended in miscarriage then an iui pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. My second iui cycle (done on the first cycle after miscarriage) worked again and we ended up with my baby daughter. I was on a cocktail of drugs the second iui pregnancy to prevent miscarriage. I am not aware of any increased risk of miscarriage with iui. I really hope your second cycle works for you. Best of luck
