Hi All, I am following on from my thread below when I asked about MMC how long to wait. My baby was confirmed dead on 28th Dec @ 12 wks but I was told baby had died at 8 wks. Was in a state of shock to begin with & didn't really realise what a missed miscarriage meant. Took about two weeks for that part to sink in. I decided to let nature take it's course but when nothing happened I decided to go the medical management route.

I had two rounds of medical management which didn't work. I've had no bleeding at all. Anyway decided to give medical management one final shot & this time used tablets vaginally instead of orally as I had done with first four lots. I inserted first lot on Fri afternoon. Some time during the middle of the night fri night I had a slight bleed, one small clot shot out & one really large clot, about the size of a peach (sorry if tmi). Bleeding stopped. I inserted second round of tablets today but nothing else happened.

Am now wondering if it is possible that what I passed on fri night was a complete miscarriage? Anyone have any ideas. Would love to think it was all over for me now but am having doubts based on all the stories I have read on here about huge blood loss & large amount of clots etc. Not sure if this is relevant but I haven't really had a period in about 8 years due to having babies close together, breast feeding each for a year & then mirena coil. Was wondering could that be why I had no blood loss.

Hi, I had a natural mc and passed everything in one go which was about a mug full of jelly like tissue. I did then bleed for a week like a normal period.
You may have passed the sac and your body could have absorbed the rest. But definitely call your EPU for a scan to check everything has gone to be sure.

Sorry you are having a crap time, I 've found the Laura Ashley Skirt thread over in conception really helpful since my mc in Dec. do come over if you feel like it.

I agree that a scan is a good plan to be on the safe side. Is it possible that the peach-sized clot was the pregnancy sac? I ask as when I passed that (with a same-stage mc) the bleeding really tailed off.

Hi Chocolate & Iggis, thanks for your responses. Went to EPU today as I really could not bare going through the week without knowing. Anyway, unfortunately that was not the miscarriage & sac is still in place. I'm booked for surgery now on wed morn & hopefully that will go straight forward. If I had known it would be this drawn out or that MM could fail I would have gone this route to begin with, but easy to think in hindsight I guess!!

Thanks for the link Choc, I will check it out. X

Sorry for your loss. I had a mms - i was recently in your shoes and definitely can appreciate how difficult this must have been for you.

I tried the medical route and this exact thing happened to me. I went in for the surgery and it was much easier emotionally and physically than the medical route so try not to worry as much as you can, it won't drag on forever. The physical healing is much much easier I've found with the surgery so hopefully that will help you to recover more quickly.

I'm sorry you are going through this, but rest assured it does get easier.

I second everything grotzbags has said. Will be thinking of you on Wednesday.
