I had my 7th mcs about 9 weeks ago (i think, i didnt write any dates down, have little memory of about 2 weeks during the time, due to the drugs i was pumped with)
In short, i dont know when it occurred.

Ive sought councelling because i have never talked about my mcs ever, to any one.(well, only to you lot Smile)
Additionally, i am coming up 42, and thught that that was IT the end, no more, even went and got the pill.

Patiently waiting for my period so that i could start taking the damned thing.
No af as yet.
Feeling much better in myself, councelling really really helping, im on a healthy eating mission (thanks to myfitnesspal) doing really well.

Accepting everything, although the grief has been overwhelming at times Sad.

So af still not here, so bought a cheepy test, thought that all pregnancy hrmones will now be gone...this far after mc....almost immediately a pink line came up.

We dtd only a couple of times..it normally took me up to 22 months to concieve so this has floored me...completely and totally. Do not know what the jeff i should do?????????
All calming words of wisdom very much appreciated....i know i know, theres no fool like an old fool.. Sad

Just read whole thread with heart in mouth and so so pleased for you, congratulations!

Can I help with any of the acronyms etc? I'm a 3rd year student midwife.

Cynner · 03/09/2012 20:09

I have a girl feeling about your little bean...but then I have 3 girls :)...i so loved doing the maternity clothes thing..it was like announcing to the world OH YES I AM! You are in my thoughts..

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 03/09/2012 21:13

So happy for you!

I predict boy :) xxx

Nananaps (or Nana Apps as autocorrect calls you) this is all great news!

You shd def be getting better care though. I had utterly rubbish midwife care despite having a high risk pg and in fact I never saw anyone more senior than a healthcare assistant. One day I got so angry at the fact that I had never seen the same person twice and only saw the midwife once at booking in that I bailed at 30 weeks and went private. I found with my history I just wanted someone to be 'in charge' of me and my care. Good job I did because my waters broke at 34 wks so ended up needing more than just casual care.

Anyway I don't know what your options are but if it were me I'd be demanding extra. A letter to your healthcare trust ? Or can your GP intervene?

WheresMyCow · 04/09/2012 09:37

Yay for normal amnio results, maternity jeans and 20 week scans GrinGrinGrin

It's exciting!!!!! Grin

Adamsapple · 05/09/2012 16:20

Hi Nana, been following from the start, held my breath as I read each of your posts. Your last post is the best of all "LOVING being pregnant, properly pregnant!" Grin
It's good to read that you are enjoying your pregnancy, after I had miscarriages and an ectopic, I had turn to IVF and incredibly it worked first time Grin
After desperately wanting to be pregnant, I was too scared, I couldn't relax and enjoy it.

It's lovely to read the excitement in your posts.

Looking forward to your live birth thread Wink

nananaps · 08/09/2012 21:17

Saw midwife, my opening greeting was "im not a loon, but i am neurotic, just bear with me..."! She didnt look amused hehehehee!

ahhhh loving being the size of a hippo Smile

5madthings · 08/09/2012 21:28

yay! hope the midwife was nice, i am sure she will be understanding, if not ask for another one!

and i bet you arent the size of a hippo yet!

can we see a bump pic?! Grin

no more babies for me so i can vicariously enjoy your preg :)

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 08/09/2012 22:22

I bet you and your mw will come to have a great, honest relationship. She may have just been a little stunned at your initial introduction!!

Glad to hear things are still going swimmingly.

Imnotaslimjim · 08/09/2012 23:45

I've just read this thread right through with tears of joy!! What a story, Congratulations nananaps. I do understand your anxiety, I suffered 3 MC and 3 chemical pgs before being blessed with my 2 darlings. Can't wait to see a photo of your new baby!

TheOneWithTheHair · 09/09/2012 07:38

Love your opening line nana!

I bet she had a giggle at your openness later. Yeah for your bump. :)

nananaps · 10/09/2012 15:06

Total losser melt down this morning. Sad

Felt no movements for 24 hours. OBVIOUSLY in my freaky head this means that the baby has died.
Went to the midwife. She looked at me like i had 3 heads, then took me to listen in....

BOUNDING is the only description i have of the little blighters HB! Strong and bounding....she smiled and said "you silly bugger, listen!"
So relieved!
She made me another appointment for 2 weeks time ...for reassurance. Fab fab fab lady Smile
20 week scan next Friday. wooohooooo Grin

drjohnsonscat · 10/09/2012 15:57

oh nana Sad and then Grin

You are entitled to be a slight loon after all you've been through. I'd say on average you are entitled to a complete meltdown about once a fortnight. I think that's in line with NICE guidelines as well Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 10/09/2012 16:00

Oh nana you are so not a loser!

And horray for the midwife taking you seriously. Glad that you have another appointment soon.

So excited for you about your scan. :)

nananaps · 10/09/2012 16:19

I do like to have melt downs in line with NICE guidance Grin.

Guess what!! I have found all my baby stuff in the loft and have washed it all in Fairy. It smells devine, like a babies head. Im getting ready......GrinGrin

Realised that we have booked our holiday in Florida for next March, (booked it in February) baby will be about 8 weeks old...am i going to be pushing this 8 weeks after a C section do you think? Dont really want to cancel it, dont know what to do about it.

EXCITED Smile

TheOneWithTheHair · 10/09/2012 16:22

I don't know about c-sections but I'm sure someone will.

How long does it take to get a passport?

nananaps · 10/09/2012 16:28

The travel company say thats its not a problem to add to the flight arrangements, because of course we have no name yet.
Passport, not sure, will need to find out.
We have the forms.

shushpenfold · 10/09/2012 16:31

Bumping - such a lovely thread!!! xx

PropositionJoe · 10/09/2012 16:38

An eight week old on a 7 hour flight? Are you sure?!

nananaps · 10/09/2012 16:41

Thats what i mean proposition..im not sure at all. I dont think its a good idea. We will lose our deposit (about £1.5k) which is too painful.
Is there any way we can get his back? poss sell the flights and pay the name change fee? Any one done this?

Think i will post on longhaul and see if anyone has done this succesfully.

5madthings · 10/09/2012 16:50

oh bless your midwife, meltdown totally normal and understandable.

actually i think that at 8wks baby is pretty portable, esp if breastfed. and you should be able to get a passport as long as you register baby asap (so no dawdling over names like i did!) and then send the form off, you can pay to get it done quicker.

can you change the date of the holiday?

nananaps · 10/09/2012 16:58

Not without losing the flight money.
I do plan on BF. But after c section with ds, i wasn't very portable tbh!

PropositionJoe · 10/09/2012 17:06

Your insurance definitely doesn't cover it? They might let you defer the trip, in the circs

sowaddayasay · 10/09/2012 21:14

You will be fine... I flew with my 5 week old on my own on a 4 hour flight and she was a gem. They sleep a lot at 8 weeks!
