Anyone heard if Estradot HRT patches are available yet? Heard they’d possibly be available towards the end of February 2025 😊

Yeah I’m wondering the same now. I feel like my menopause symptoms are coming back. Not sure whether to add a bit more of the Evorel patch to see if I feel better.

MagpiePi · 24/03/2025 20:08

I’ve added another 1/4 of a patch.

I know you are supposed to see a specialist consultant if you want (need!) to go above 100mcg because they haven’t tested above that amount, but IMO, if I’m only absorbing 75% of a 100mcg patch then I’m not exceeding the ‘safe’ dose by adding an extra bit of a patch.

Latest from the cpe

Estradot available from the 4th April 🙂

Sadly that does not mean it will be available from the 4th April, it means that it will be unavailable until then. The ‘unavailable until…’ date has been extended a lot of times already. No reason why they might not extend it again.

@rivalsbinge I use Etramon instead of Estradot I have found it the closet alternative. Patch very similar and it has worked well for me. Another one I have had is estradiol again has been fine for me. Evorel didn't work for me at all and the patch just kept coming off

SnoozingFox · 27/03/2025 08:29

Never heard of estramon, are you in the uk?

Delatron · 27/03/2025 09:02

Yes frustratingly they just keep extending the SSP.

No I'm in Ireland but I'd be surprised if you couldn't get it in the UK

SnoozingFox · 28/03/2025 08:05

ive googled and the only results are Ireland and Australia! How odd.

That is weird. I have just read an Irish site about estramon and most peoples comments are that they are awful so don't feel too bad about them not being supplied in UK. Their comments reflect what evorel was like for me so I guess we all react differently. Another I have had as an alternative to estradot is Estradiol.

Estradiol is the name of the active ingredient in all estrogen patches. There's no specific brand called Estradiol AFAIK. Not in England anyway.

Yes you're right apologies. I think the brand name was sandoz

Disappointed to have seen this today

Estradot patches

I have ordered some FemSeven patches online, with Hypafix tape to keep them on. Fed up with this nonsense.

Me too, I’m trying Evorel at the moment but the FemSeven sound interesting too. I’m using Tegaderm sticking plaster things to keep the Evorel in place

Delatron · 04/04/2025 22:35

I’m sorry but my menopause clinic has said 2026 for Estradot. It’s frustrating but these continual extensions on the SSPs aren’t helping. They won’t be available on the 2nd May. They just keep extending.

AFingerofFudge · 12/06/2025 14:52

For anyone that is still wondering about Estradot - I put my prescription in online to pharmacy2u - in recent months I’ve been getting Evorel sent to me. This morning to my surprise and relief I was sent Estradot (50) 🥳

Growingupintheeighties · 12/06/2025 15:59

I had 6 months of estradot 75mcg prescribed 2 months ago and was offered evorel instead due to the SSP.

My skin reacts to the evorel patches, they make me really sore but there wasn’t another option

I asked for just one month of evorel in the hope that the estradot would be back in stock the following month and I could have the remaining 5 months as estradot.

Last month I asked for a further month of evorel as the estradot was still unavailable.

This morning I checked the online advice and saw that that estradot was likely to be out of stock for the next few months and the SSP had been extended again.

Based on that info I went to my pharmacy this afternoon ( Lloyd’s chain) and asked for the remaining 4 months worth of evorel.

I was pleasantly surprised when they said estradot was in stock and they gave me 4 boxes!

I felt like I’d won the lottery. I had to check the bag to believe it.

I’m thrilled I finally have the estradot but I do feel that with the huge media push to make more people aware of the menopause, its symptoms and the treatment available that the medication prescribed should be more available. I have been using these patches for approx 5 years and hold my breath every time I collect my prescription because more often than not my prescribed medication isn’t available.

SnoozingFox · 12/06/2025 16:26

Pharmacy2u doesn't deal with NHS Scotland I don't think. I am really hoping though that the fact that Estradot is starting to trickle through means that by the time I exhaust my current supply, I might be able to get some.

alpenguin · 12/06/2025 17:48

I’m really struggling without estradot. I’m allergic to evorel and end up in blisters and have tried the Estrada which are huge and just peel off (I’m on my third in three days.

I react to the gel and really don’t want to take pill form.

I don’t really know what to do. 😭

Piggywaspushed · 12/06/2025 19:25

Do you mean Estraderm?

I have the same issues as you. In fact, am allergic to Estradot, too. But as it was small, I put up with it. I am also allergic to Estraderm and yes it doesn't stick well.

This is good news. I’m going to email my clinic and see if they can get hold of any.

WhereAreWeNow · 13/06/2025 13:12

I just went to my chemist desperately hoping that Estrodot would be back in stock but it's still just Evorel. I asked when they're likely to get more Estrodot and he just shrugged 😕

sunshinechaser · 13/06/2025 14:21

I got some 100mcg patches last week and some 25mcg patches today (I’ll wear 4 of them). Pharmacy said they were still showing out of stock but I think they are slowly starting to filter through.

rivalsbinge · 14/06/2025 17:23

I’ve just almost cried in boots, I did the boots online had 3 month supply prescribed, double checked it was Estradot, driven here all excited to be told they don’t have it. I got met by two women who could give a shit while my life and body is falling apart.

why are boots online promising it’s in stock and then the pharmacy saying no. I’m in pieces here, I’m allergic to the alternatives, trying to run a business, trying to hold my life together and I have hot sweats back, palpitations, cramps, moods and generally feel like bursting into tears without the patch that for the last 18 months has stopped all of this.

my mood is so low right now it’s unreal and I’m so angry, that women can be left in this stair with no clear pathway.
