Anyone heard if Estradot HRT patches are available yet? Heard they’d possibly be available towards the end of February 2025 😊

I never had an issue with getting the evorek ti stick on at all, and I absorbed the estrogen fine. It was the allergy to the glue.

rivalsbinge · 20/03/2025 21:50

This is driving me mad… if this was viagra there would be bloody outrage.. I’m in such a bad place right now without my HRT.

I agree!

Are you not getting on with Evorel? I’m just hoping I’m absorbing the same even though the patches are annoying.

Delatron · 20/03/2025 22:01

I had a rash near the patch the other day and I never get allergic reactions.
so frustrating.

rivalsbinge · 20/03/2025 22:08

@Delatroni still have some of my old patches left but fly out for my really special birthday holiday next week and will have to move to the new brand then.

I’m away for 10 days in the sun planned for 3 years for my 50th and I have to now navigate a change in HRT midway. It’s so so so bloody annoying, I had surgery for endo in my mid 40s so have to be so careful with my oestrogen dose and I’m just bloody frustrated this could cause a flare, could cause me symptoms who knows.

It seems nobody in the medical world gives a shiny shit as it’s not affecting their dicks.

I'm just securing funding for 2+ million for a cyber firm and I’m starting to think with my links to medical and VC funding I’m going to set up direct competition to the idiots that have left us in this position. Sod them let’s set up a female based HRT pharma business that never “runs out”

Delatron · 20/03/2025 22:26

Ah @rivalsbinge that sounds tough - I hope the new patches are ok for you.

It’s true - men would never be left in this position. Many of us have to fight for HRT in the first place. Then when we finally get it and on a dose and brand that suits us they bloody run out. And nobody cares. A rival company would be good. They have the technology now - why can’t they keep up with demand?

SnoozingFox · 20/03/2025 22:45

@rivalsbinge where are you going? Southern Europe has less demand for hrt and you may be able to buy there

LilacLemur · 20/03/2025 23:16

I’m on 100mg which I obviously can’t get so my GP prescribed 25mg and I use 4 at a time. Going through them at a great rate and my bum looks like an old notice board covered with the black sticky residue 🤣

WhereAreWeNow · 21/03/2025 07:45

I've switched over to Evorel. It's going OK. I haven't experienced the blip that I've had in the past when swapping between Evorel and Estrodot. The main downside for me is the gigantic size of the patch!

The Maldives.. I’m kind of assuming they won’t have any!

What does everyone use to get rid of the notice board effect? I’m scrubbing in the shower and then using nail remover pads.

SnoozingFox · 21/03/2025 08:23

Baby oil works quite well at removing the patch glue. Any oil really.

sunshinechaser · 21/03/2025 09:50

I use a scrubby mitt thing to get rid of the black glue in the shower and it works a treat. I usually use it to scrub my skin before fake tan.
I’m keeping an eye on the SSP information I posted earlier but there’s been no update. The SSP for the 50mcg patches expires on 21st March and the SSP for the 75mcg and 100mcg expired on 14th March. So we’ll either see stock filtering through to community pharmacies soon or a further SSP with extended dates. I’ll post here if we receive any updates on SSP extensions.

Delatron · 21/03/2025 11:04

I do believe my menopause clinic when they say 2026 unfortunately. The supply issues won’t be sorted until
a new factory is built. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t except this to be sorted any time soon.

sunshinechaser · 21/03/2025 13:47

Just searched and saw the SSP is extended until April now.
I think if there was a fire in the factory that manufactures Estradot there would be something online about it. They are made in the Sandoz factory in Surrey and I’ve searched online and there’s no news about a fire here. Plus I’m sure the drug company would be transparent and if they knew there was going to be a shortage until next year they would publish this.
For example we have huge shortages just now of pancreatic enzyme drugs (Creon etc) and the dates of availability are 1 year to 18 months. If Sandoz expected the same timeframe for Eastradot patches they would publish this.

Estradot patches
Delatron · 21/03/2025 13:54

It wasn’t a fire. I can’t remember what my doctor said but she definitely said they were having to build a new factory (abroad I think) and until this was built the supply issues wouldn’t be sorted. I do hope that they are sorted sooner though.

MagpiePi · 21/03/2025 13:55

I’ve had to go back to Evorel 100s from Estradots and am not enjoying it. Apart from the size of them and that they keep coming off, I am getting an itchy allergic reaction to them.
I’ve also found I need to cut one up and put an extra 1/4 one on to get the same effect.
I wondered if this was because I put the estradots on my abdomen whereas I have to stick the evorels on my bum as they are so huge.

sunshinechaser · 21/03/2025 14:03

@Delatron ah that makes sense. I don’t know much about it but I think the huge increase in demand would lead to supply issues and perhaps another factory will help ease the pressures. Fingers crossed.

SnoozingFox · 21/03/2025 22:58

Does anyone have experience of using femseven patches as an alternative to estradot?

Christine0708 · 21/03/2025 23:53

I have always ended everol and never had any trouble with them at all. They have never fallen off either. I stick them to lower back/bum area,

NomiG1 · 23/03/2025 21:51

Hi, I’m comforted to see this thread just because I feel the same. After trying gel and evorel felt on an even keel with estradot. Gutted. Does anyone have experience of estraderm or fem7? I’ve not heard great things. If switching to evorel 50 would you say cut the patch? Sounds like a higher dose that estradot? I really gained weight on evorell. anyone else? Would love to know and share any experiences x

MagpiePi · 23/03/2025 22:01

I thought about asking for femseven but they look even bigger than Evorel.

Delatron · 24/03/2025 07:28

The strengths are the same I think. I was on a 37.5 estradot but they don’t do that in Evorel so I’m cutting a 70 patch in half.

I’ve noticed I’m feeling a little more anxious again and waking more in the night like before HRT. Might be a coincidence or maybe the Evorel are not working as well for me. Will need to wait a few more months to have a blood test to see I guess as only a couple of weeks in.

I don’t think I absorb Evorel as well as Estradot, even though they are supposed to be the same dose.
When I first went on to Estradot I had to cut the patches down to about 75% and gradually work back up to 100 as I was getting symptoms of too much oestrogen.
