I seem to be doing ok on the newer cylindrical bottles. The ones with the printed on info. The gel in them reminds me of the conical bottles as it seems to be thicker than the gel in the earlier cylindrical bottles with the stuck on labels (the other difference is the boxes that contain the thinner gel also has a sticker to seal the ends of the box, whereas the printed on label ones have a small perforation Next to the lid to open it).
I also bought some jewellery scales from Amazon so that I could weigh out my dose to ensure I was getting the same amount each day. The dose rates per pump can vary so much with these cylindrical bottles and I am super sensitive to even the smallest change so that has really helped me a lot.
I did however get given some of the older bottle of cylinder gel when I collected my repeat recently, I knew as soon as I saw that sticker on the box, but hoped that maybe it was the dose rate variation that caused my issue with it. To start I was actually fine, but after about a week I started to notice little things creeping back in, and although I did persevere and finish the bottle I had started, I decided I couldn’t bear the thought of going straight on to the second one as the symptoms continued to build. Thankfully I had another prescription to collect by then and that contained the printed bottles. It took me a while to go back to feeling normal on the thicker gel again once I restarted it though. So for me, there is obviously something lacking with the thinner gel.
So in summary, I have found the newer cylindrical bottles (with the thicker gel, printed on info and perforation next to the box lid) combined with weighing my gel dose every day seems to be working ok for me. The first cylindrical bottles that came out after doing well on the conical bottles for ages (which have the thinner gel, stuck on info labels and a clear sticker to seal the ends of the boxes) still don’t work for me, even with weighing.
I hope that info helps :)
