Would anyone be interested in a Northern Ireland meet up?

Tee2072 · 31/07/2010 16:59

Shall we say 3rd? What time?

booyhoo · 31/07/2010 17:11

how is 10am for everyone? i am thinking of schools being back.

dingdong3 · 31/07/2010 19:28

10 is good with me....3rd Sept is good too!!

WhenKevinMetSadie · 31/07/2010 22:33

I can't make 3rd Sept, my baby brother is getting married!

I shall be beautifying myself (or at least trying to!) most of the morning (and trying to keep 3 little grubbles looking semi-presentable), so won't make a meet-up.

10th would suit me though....

(Obviously, go for whatever suits most people.... majority rules!)

Tee, thanks for your re my return to work... The , OTOH is just pure schadenfreude.....

And good luck for the next few weeks LMMS (and to mamamary too)!

booyhoo · 31/07/2010 22:47

i can do 10th, provisionally of course.

Tee2072 · 01/08/2010 08:53

10th is fine with me as well.

There there whenkevinmetsadie. ::hands round a hanky::

Are the boys wearing matching outfits for the wedding? Little suits, perhaps?

Tee2072 · 01/08/2010 17:24

Sorry, whenkevinmetsadie that sounded really mean and I didn't mean it that way. I hope going back to work is fab for you!

WhenKevinMetSadie · 01/08/2010 23:03

Don't worry Tee, I know you weren't being mean

It'll be good for me to use my brain for something other than nursery rhyme lyrics! But am still a bit apprehensive.

Know the boys will be fine in nursery (DD loves it there) and they've got each other! And it is only 3 days per week.

Don't know what the boys are going to wear to the wedding yet... I haven't even got my outfit! Whereas DD is sorted for pretty dresses after receiving a few for her birthday in May.

I think a shopping trip is in order

Tee2072 · 02/08/2010 08:09

I would be also, whenkevinmetsadie. I couldn't do it, that's why I started my own company instead. I'm making a lot less money but I am doing a lot better with my physical and mental illnesses working for myself.

Ooh, shopping....

booyhoo · 02/08/2010 11:09

ooh dresses. i love little girls' dresses. i have toyed with the idea of hiring out a little girl just so i have someone to dress.

when do you start back WKMS?

Tee2072 · 02/08/2010 11:34

booyhoo I keep telling my SIL that her next one has to be a girl, since we each have a boy. I need a little girl to dress!

booyhoo · 02/08/2010 11:44

hehe, no pressure on her then tee?

dingdong3 · 02/08/2010 11:50

You can dress my two anytime!!

Dresses are all very well but not practical at 20 months when all my two seem to want to do is sit in muck or sand and throw it at each other...

But they look so adorable in them and given the lack of hair on my two, dresses are essential to stop strangers asking me 'what's his name?'!! grrrr

For practicality and lack of endless options (tunics, leggings, skirts, dresses, tights, frilly knickers...etc), I would happily dress a boy (t-shirt & jeans/shorts) any day!

Hope you're both well this morning boo & tee. This is the first time in AGES I've been able to have a good old MN session...loving it! Hope you're still on the sofa with a coffee tee ...half a chance I hear you say!

Tee2072 · 02/08/2010 12:21

Nope, none at all booyhoo! How are you today?

dingdong unfortunately that only lasted about an hour before I had to do some work that, you know, I get paid for!! And then I did some work that I don't get paid for, i.e. housework!

MamaMary · 02/08/2010 13:53

Hello NI ladies

Would like to announce the birth of Claire Margaret, weight 6lbs 1 oz. She was born on 24th July - 10 days before her due date (which was today!) Had to be induced as I developed pre-eclampsia at 38 weeks.

She is a wee dote and doing really well - re-gained her birth-weight in 5 days.

WhenKevinMetSadie · 02/08/2010 14:03

tee, booy, feel free to borrow DD anytime!

I agree re dresses, dingdong, they look so pretty, for all of half an hour before they're covered in some form of grubbiness! As long as DD (& DTs) look semi-clean for at least one or two photos at the wedding I'll be happy!

Start back to work on Wednesday, booy. Boys in nursery for a few hours today (& tomorrow) so they can settle in. Went to meet a friend for coffee; felt weird driving with no kids in the car.... Better get used to it!

Off to pick them all up now, I've missed them!

WhenKevinMetSadie · 02/08/2010 14:09

Oooh, x-post with Mamamary!

Can I be the first of the NI gang to congratate you?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! And welcome baby Claire Margaret!

Am sure you are delighted! Lovely name! Glad to hear everything going well after scary pre-eclampsia. Well done you!

Looking forward to seeing you, and meeting Claire (maybe at next meet-up?) xx

Tee2072 · 02/08/2010 15:49

Congratulations mamamary!!!!! Lovely name and welcome Claire Margaret.

TakeLovingChances · 02/08/2010 15:58

Congratulations MamaMary!

A wee baby girl, awwww! TLC goes misty eyed

All the best to you and we're here for any advice you might need.

booyhoo · 02/08/2010 18:11

aww, congratulations mamamary. well done you. and welcome to the world claire margaret. am i right in thinking this is the first official NI meet-up baby?

I am good today tee, apart from ds1 tantrumming like a two year old!! (i would be happy to exchange him for your girls dingdong)

WKMS i still feel strange when i don't have any dcs in the car. it happens so rarely!!

dingdong3 · 02/08/2010 19:23

Great news mamamary!! Congratulations! Can't wait to meet little Claire Margaret at a meet-up soon!

Must be something in the air boo...DS1's behaving like 2 year olds...mine is driving me mad. Oh the joys...

LittleMissSnowShine · 03/08/2010 10:55

Congrats mamamary!! I'm still in the waiting room, driving myself crazy with housework and cooking stuff to fill the freezer - thank god for dvd boxsets and the odd glass of low alcohol wine or i think i'd be climbing the walls this week :D

can't wait to meet Claire Margaret v soon!!

hope everyone is well, good luck with return to work tomorrow WKMS

booyhoo · 04/08/2010 17:55

wkms how did first day back go? i was nervous for you

Tee2072 · 04/08/2010 18:17

Oh yes, that was today! How did it go wkms?

WhenKevinMetSadie · 04/08/2010 22:53

Thanks for thinking of me!

Return to work was not as traumatic as anticipated!

Spent the day in Trust induction, so didn't actually do any work

Although am pretty sure Personnel/Salaries are trying to rip me off wrt my pay (will be tackling that one ASAP!) and no-one seems to have a clue how many people are on my on-call rota

And my boys did just great in nursery! They were in good form all day & were full of smiles for me when I picked them up. They even took ebm from a bottle , admittedly only 3&4oz respectively, but it's a start (DD was much more stubborn when she started nursery, & she refused to be broken!).

Shattered tonight, & DH working overnight. Off to bed soon, looking forward to my day with the kids tomorrow.

Night all x
