Would anyone be interested in a Northern Ireland meet up?

he's sleeping now but i have him stripped down to his nappy as he is so warm. he didn't take any breakfast this morning.

LittleMissSnowShine · 30/07/2010 11:34

it's torrential!! we'll def have to think of some indoor locations if we're going to make NI meet ups a monthly thing - we were spoiled with all the good weather in may/june, looks like it's back to the usual now

enjoy the nice dry museum cafe today tho everyone!

booyhoo · 30/07/2010 11:45

is it bad that I'm thinking of lighting the fire?

PlumBumMum · 30/07/2010 13:45

Hi booy sorry to hear ds is sick,
I had heating on last night and lit the gas fire, so no not bad at all!

Well I just about turned up as I couldn't find a parking space and it was raining, but didn't want to be a no show, anyway everyone was lovely although had to leave just as whenkevinmetsadie so just a brief hi

booyhoo · 30/07/2010 13:48

ah, glad you had a good time plum.

PlumBumMum · 30/07/2010 13:59

How are you? Have you spoke to dh?

booyhoo · 30/07/2010 14:58

no, he texted earlier asking how we all were. i just replied that the boys were fine. I don't know how i am tbh. i feel very angry with him but i don't know why. I haven't told him this though because I don't want to put him on the defensive and make communication difficult for when i am ready to talk to him.

Tee2072 · 30/07/2010 15:04

How's the boy booyhoo? Any better?

Not cold enough here for a fire or the heat. Just very very wet!

Meet up was grand, lovely to see everyone again. The consensus, however, is that the cafe is too heaving to have a conversation never mind a bunch of prams...so what do we do next time?!?

Let's start thinking now!!!!

::Puts on sergeant hat ::

booyhoo · 30/07/2010 15:07

the vomitting has stopped. still a bit of diarhoea but not as bad as it was. temp back down with calpol. it's not warm enough here either but the rain always makes me want to light the fire. I blame my mum, she would light the fire in a heatwave.

dingdong3 · 30/07/2010 15:33

Hi all and thanks for the advice on my scary face!! Still itching like mad today but got a homeopathic remedy that should help - taking it every 15 mins atm so am almost a bit tipsy!! lol

Will get DH to get some eurax for me too...have some lotion in the cupboard from when DS had chicken pox but it's best before some time in 2008 so don't want to risk it with it being my face and all that!!

Sorry to hear you missed it too booyhoo hope your LO is better soon...does feel like winter here today so go ahead and light that fire

Will get thinking about where to meet...a soft play area is probably going to be the best but it's not going to be convenient for everyone. Nearest one is probably Funky Monkeys...and it's expensive then if you are bringing more than one kid. There's a church cafe in Lisburn with a little play area, which i usually meet friends in - is there anything like that closer to Belfast?

Tee2072 · 30/07/2010 16:47

Dingdong, a soft play somewhere near Connswater was mentioned at the meet up, but I can't seem to find it online any where. WhenKevinMadeSadie was going to a party there or something and was going to report!

I hope your face gets better!

dingdong3 · 30/07/2010 17:22

Yes, Playtime in Connswater is good. It's a cafe with some soft play also. Worth a try next time for sure.

LittleMissSnowShine · 30/07/2010 18:41

Tee - www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000264049929&v=wall

Good plan, parking is usually easy enough in Connswater and it's not too far from centre of town for anyone using public transport. Inside is def the way to go - just went for a walk with DH earlier. Waddle, waddle and (with all the rain) quack quack ;)

Tee2072 · 30/07/2010 18:45

What an odd Business Page LMSS. Obviously doesn't know how to do one!

But thanks for the link anyway. I did find a listing on (shhh) Netmums. It isn't listed on the Connswater site, however. Very strange.

I definitely think we should check it out next month.

Now, what day....

WhenKevinMetSadie · 30/07/2010 21:09

Thursday or Friday Tee, so that I can definitely come!

Quite impressed with Playtime. Play area quite good and contained. DD (aged 2) was able to amuse herself with minimal supervision assistance. Good parking & is secure (would be very difficult for kids to escape!)

Costs £1 for 'active' baby under 1 (eg. my 2!), £3.25 for under 3s, and £4.25 for over 3s.

Food looks OK too.

booy just realised about your DP. So sorry. Thinking about you (shhhhh ((((((hug))))))) ) Let us know if there's anything we can do. And hope your DS makes a speedy recovery, poor boy!

Tee2072 · 30/07/2010 21:15

Well, I am pretty sure I am off to the In-Laws for August Bank Holiday, starting the 27th, so I could do 26th or the week before.

Or you can meet the 27th without me.

Bishoplyn · 30/07/2010 21:49

Tee - thanks for the welcome and link from Chat.
I live in Ballymena. No DCs but love all the Style and Beauty, Chat, Relationship stuff on MN.
Sorry you didn't get great weather today but sounds like you had good time.
Would be great to catch up with you all but I work Mon - Fri. Might also have to borrow a DC so as not to not look too weird going into a Soft Play area
Will keep an eye on this thread for future meet ups.
Am away to turn up my heating.....

booyhoo · 30/07/2010 22:19

thanks WKMS. i am feeling a lot more positive this evening. been kind of burying my head in the sand since monday but made a few decisions today and i feel more in control now.

ds seems to be on the mend. I'm thinking just a tummy bug. still not eating great. just picking stuff and then setting it down again. which is so not like him!!

tee we can't have a meet without you. how would we know where to sit without your plaid blanket???

hello bishoplyn, looking forward to meeting you at the next meet up. you can borrow one of my dcs if you like.

dingdong3 · 31/07/2010 00:11

I was thinking the same thing about renting out a chind boo! lol. Glad to hear your LO is getting better.

I'm away at the end of August so would love if it was to be the first or second week in September as there are no mother and toddlers on. Happy with a Thurs or Friday.

Good night all...love from scratchy face

PS the party goers didn't seem to notice my crusty face and bought lots of neal's yard thank goodness! Anyone want to have a party in September? You'll get lots of free stuff

dingdong3 · 31/07/2010 00:12

Sorry for shameless marketing - please don't report me!!!

Tee2072 · 31/07/2010 07:54

Don't be daft dingdong, no one's going to report you!!!

WhenKevinMetSadie can only meet Thurs or Fri (she's back to work this week, poor thing )

I could definitely do 1st or 2nd week of Sept on Friday, Thursdays aren't good for me usually.

mumoffourgirls · 31/07/2010 09:43

Sorry i missed the meet up it was my neices birthday yesterday, also suffering from sciatica at the minute after a few days camping and can hardly move, which is so hard when you have four kids to run around after the youngest being nearly 7 months....

booyhoo · 31/07/2010 10:39

I'm going to say yes provisionally to anything because i don't know what sort of a situation i will be in employment wise in the near future (hopefully employed) but it is a yes for now anyway.

LittleMissSnowShine · 31/07/2010 11:38

I'll say a provisional yes too, hoping LO is going to arrive in the next week or two (hey, I can hope!) but if they don't arrive until due date (28th Aug) I might still be in a bit of a haze until October time he he

dingdong3 · 31/07/2010 16:24

Should we say Friday the 3rd then or the 10th? Hopefully that suits most people but sounds like LMSS will be busy with a new baby...

Broody??? Moi??? Never!!
