Would anyone be interested in a Northern Ireland meet up?

yeah - everyone's gone quiet!!

yeo, it's raining today, woo hoo!! swollen pregnant feet are already deflating!! feel so guilty about being such a sunshine grinch but hot temperatures and third trimester do not mix!!

Tee2072 · 28/06/2010 15:07

knock has a thread that her daughter broke her leg Go Karting this past weekend while at her Ex's. So I think she's a bit busy!

Littlemiss how well I remember last year when it was hot in early June and I was very very pregnant! Put your feet up and enjoy the cool air.

MamaMary · 28/06/2010 15:46

My feet are feeling much better now too

Though the rain is making me quite lazy - it's an excuse for not heading out and doing errands that I really should be doing

booyhoo · 28/06/2010 16:17

oh gosh, i didn't realise. all is forgiven knock (hope the plumber came)

PlumBumMum · 28/06/2010 18:43

Was just wondering about Knock too, wonder how Mrfancycar is going too.

I'm on a go slow today, but hope the rain stays off tomorrow nipping into Lisburn for some bits, hate walking about with a toddler in the rain!

Tee2072 · 03/07/2010 08:44

Hi all.

So we tentatively agreed to meet again 30th July.

Anyone have any location ideas? Although the lawn outside the museum was a lovely place.

I know people said they wanted to meet earlier as well, yes?

LittleMissSnowShine · 03/07/2010 10:38

Tee - I'll still have 3 or 4 weeks to go before due date on 30th July so I might be able to stagger along

Off on maternity leave then and since I won't have long to go, no holiday plans! So I'm up for a meet up No particular suggestions about where though, museum was good last time? But it seems like parking is a problem for anyone driving, unfortunately.

Hope everyone is well - what is going on with our weather?? I can't remember so much sunniness before - very hard to get last bits of work finished up or get anything done round the house when it's so warm. Loving the excuse to just keep feet up tho he he

PlumBumMum · 03/07/2010 10:43

Watching this space

TakeLovingChances · 05/07/2010 10:19

Just marking my place on this thread, I fell off.

waves to everyone

KnickKnack · 05/07/2010 14:51

How about meeting here ?? Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park

Free admission!

I was there last year at the Rose Festival, it was brill, tons of space for kids to run about, lots of different "areas" eg japanese garden, playpark, cafe, flat areas, gardens, hilly parts etc

Map and some more info here
Its on Upper Malone Road

TakeLovingChances · 05/07/2010 16:55

I haven't been to Lady Dixon Park in years! It is a beautiful place, so long as the weather is nice.

It suits me fine to get there cuz I drive, but some people will need to check if it's on a bus route, or get a lift there.

Free admission = very good

PlumBumMum · 05/07/2010 18:29

I was thinking of there too, we were just there the other week and dcs loved rolling down the hills

Tee2072 · 05/07/2010 20:37

It looks very pretty but its pretty far out for me to get to, without a car. I see there are several bus options, so its not a complete no, but is there anything to do if it rains? From the description the cafe sounds rather small.

Not that I have anything else to suggest!

PlumBumMum · 06/07/2010 11:01

I have never seen a cafe there

there are some bandstand thing but no seats in them, really for a definite sunny day,

I've been meaning to bring my dcs to the museum since it was done up, so I don't mind either way, although they might be pestering me to stay in museum

mumoffourgirls · 06/07/2010 11:21

Has anyone ever been to Silvercliffs holiday village? we`re heading there next weekend for a few days, just wondering if anyone has ever stayed there..

Tee2072 · 06/07/2010 13:10

The site says there is a cafe Plumbummum, but I don't know exactly where it is in the Park. Seems like a very large place!

PlumBumMum · 06/07/2010 18:01

OMG I have never seen that before think that is at a different part to where I normally park, (hope so anyway)

TakeLovingChances · 06/07/2010 18:05

mumoffour never heard of Silvercliffs. Where is it? Hope you have a lovely time, but I'm at you going on holiday.

PlumBumMum · 06/07/2010 18:10

Its in Ballycastle my aunt has a caravan there and goes all the time never been to that particular one,
but love Ballycastle be sure to eat in the Anzac lovely food brilliant value,
the chippy down at harbour is to die for, buy your fish supper then eat it over at beach yum!
Watertop farm brilliant for dcs but you have to drive out of Ballycastle to get to it

KnickKnack · 06/07/2010 21:27

the cafe is near the stables (I think!) here
look about half way down the page, there are 3 photos.
As far as I remember its not very big, but we were there during the Rose Festival and it was packed, so maybe it just seemed small!

By the way, I won't be at the meet up, I'm going to the park next week and as it was on my mind, just thought I'd throw it out there as an idea to get the ball rolling

LittleMissSnowShine · 06/07/2010 22:04

The cafe isn't huge, and if there's 8 mums and 16 kids (just for example!) then that's 24 people to fit into not the biggest of spaces. Gorgeous place if weather is nice tho!!

Of course most outside places depend on the weather being nice!!

We need to grow this group so we can hire us a church hall somewhere lol

TakeLovingChances · 07/07/2010 08:58

LittleMiss once you and MamaMary have your babies that's 2 extra people to add to the numbers!

We could open up our own public space for MN members and offspring, hire out one of the empty shop spaces in Belfast or something

My Minister would probably lend us a room in our church if it got to such a scale that we'd need it. However, he might be a bit when I try to explain what MN is - a forum for people to talk about their babies, moan about MILs, and debunk Daily Mail stories!

LittleMissSnowShine · 07/07/2010 09:01

TLC - I nearly had heart attack when I saw my MW on Monday and she began to speculate that she thinks there might be twins in there. TWINS! I'm 33 weeks!! Hoping she was just having a slightly crazy morning but starting to feel very nervous indeed ;)

Anyway, at least if we moan about our in-laws online it saves people from having to do it to their faces so MN actually promotes family harmony

Tee2072 · 07/07/2010 09:55

Another set of twins!!

BTW, Adam started day care this week. 8 children in the baby room...6 boys. Only one Adam this time, though!!!

I was looking on BCC website and see that Ormeau Park has a playground, which would be nice for the older children. But no rain cover. Don't they know these parks are in Belfast?!?!?!?

LittleMissSnowShine · 07/07/2010 10:35

I live right beside Ormeau Park so the chances of me being able to waddle along at 36 weeks are slightly increased if that's where you guys decide on! We can always decamp to mine for tea as long as we can fit 20 plus mummies and DCs in a..err...bijou terraced house

There's also Ormeau Library, which is right across from the park and there's a story time session on Tuesdays at 3:30 or some other child friendly thing involving rhythm and rhyme (??) at 2:30 on Fridays. So that could potentially be a good back up option if it rains?
