watching this with interest. Currently abroad but when home our UK base is on the Surrey/Sussex border.

Reality, I often go to Horsham as take the kids swimming at the pavillions

hotchachachaingbunny · 16/10/2009 15:56

LOL at meeting in Ikea I love the place, but even I would draw the line at meeting friends for coffee there!

I have a dd who is 6, so not much use for toddler group meets

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 16/10/2009 16:30

It's a shame we didn't try to organise something in the summer. We could have just arranged to meet at a big park somewhere & all taken a picnic !!

Hi all,

I'm in Caterham (Valley) and would love to come along to a meet-up if you get anything organised. I don't drive but I'm happy to jump on a train or bus.

Also, through a previous Mumsnet meet-up I met a couple of Mumsnetters and we still meet up regularly now. We're planning a evening out within the next couple of weeks so if anyone would like to join us then leave a message here and I'll let you know the details.

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 18/10/2009 17:38

Amandoh - Hiya. Yeah I'd be up for the evening out. I'm in Caterham too (on the Hill). Are the others local to us ?

Hi Chunky,

Thanks for replying . I've emailed Firewalker and I shall text DropDeadFred to suggest either Wednesday the 28th or Thursday the 29th. There's also another Mumsnetter who started a Surrey meet-up thread a little while ago who said she might be interested in coming along so I shall email her again once we get a date sorted out.

I think our next evening out might be up in Sanderstead as that's where Firewalker lives (DropDeadFred is also in Caterham). Our last couple of meals out have been here in Caterham and Purley but will let you know for definite once somewhere has been decided.

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 19/10/2009 11:18

Ok.

I may not be able to make it on those dates, so may just have to come along next time.
28th is FIL's b'day (he has terminal cancer, so likely to be his last one sadly), so depending on how he is feeling, we may be going to see him on either of those days. Let me know though as obviously not sure whats happening yet.

Hope you have a good evening out girls

Im afraid Sanderstead is a bit far away for me, but if something was to be organised a bit closer to Woking then Id love to go.

LucyTownsend · 19/10/2009 14:47

CARGIRL Im an Old Blue from CH, hows your daughter finding it? I only left in 2004 so may have overlapped in being there?

Amandoh · 20/10/2009 23:47

Hello again,

ChunkyMonkeysMum ~ I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL. Unfortunately the only date in the near future we're all free in the evening is the 28th. If you are able to make it then it would be great to meet you but if not and you fancy meeting up for a coffee or a trip to Queen's Park one afternoon then let me know as I'm free most afternoons.

For anyone else would like to come along then we're meeting up at 8pm at the Tapas restaurant on the main road in Sanderstead. Directions here. Let me know if you're able to make it and we'll look out for you.

Amandoh · 20/10/2009 23:49

For anyone else who* would like to come along.

I really ought to preview before posting!

Stigaloid · 22/10/2009 15:33

I'm Surbiton so Surrey/London borders. Have one DS age 2.4 and about to embark on mat leave before DD is born in Dec. Always happy to get together with other mums and kids.

Hotcha - my mum lives in Godalming - lovely village.

turtle23 · 22/10/2009 15:49

Hi CMM...I'll be seeing you tomorrow, but could possibly make a proper Surrey meetup. I'm v far north in Carshalton, anybody else up my way?

lou33 · 22/10/2009 15:52

i live about 3 miles from godalming, it is a nice place

CarGirl · 23/10/2009 20:04

Lucy no she's only 3rd Form this year.

turtle if you need some help or company once the dds are back at school after half term I really will come over, it didn't take me long to get home last time - you just need to tell me where I can park.

I was at how posh it was around your place, I've previously only spotted yucky bits on my way to croydon - where I live is a bit grim rather than "nice" Surrey.

turtle23 · 23/10/2009 21:53

Thanks Cargirl, that's very sweet of you.
that you think it's posh round here!! If you happen to be up this way let's meet up for a coffee, but I am feeling much better today and looking onwards and upwards.

CarGirl · 23/10/2009 22:03

You haven't been over here!!! Weybridge is mostly very nice, the town next door ermmm well do you like 60's tower blocks & maisonettes? I drove along some very nice residential roads just up the road from you - huge houses with drives and everthing!!!

Glad you are feeling better today but I do mean it, I will come over if you let me know. Perhaps when you move out and need some practical help?

turtle23 · 23/10/2009 22:32

Thank you! Mumsnet is such a lovely place. I will be in touch.

Amandoh · 27/10/2009 14:38

I know I've already posted this but just wanted to remind anyone that's local/local-ish that we're meeing up tomorrow night for Tapas in Sanderstead (For anyone not familiar with Sanderstead it's not too far from Croydon) at 8pm.

If you're free come along.

Samarra · 27/10/2009 17:39

Hi,

I live in Sutton and have a 4 month old baby. Am looking to meet up with other Surrey mums. Please get in touch.

nikki1978 · 27/10/2009 20:09

Ooh I live in Sanderstead! If I had known about the meet up tomorrow I would have come along but have plans now

Would be interested in a meet if one takes place though

Amandoh · 27/10/2009 21:51

Oh, what a shame Nikki!

We do meet up regularly though so will keep you posted as to when we're next going out.

Shall we get the ball rolling for a daytime meet-up soon?

What do you all think about Kidspace? It's not too busy during term time and the coffee is drinkable. For those of you who drive there's plenty of parking spaces and it's free and for those that don't the 289 bus runs from Purley and drops you almost at the door and the 119 bus runs through Croydon to Kidspace.

If anyone else has any suggestions for somewhere we can meet then get posting and hopefully once we find somewhere we're all happy with we can sort out a date.

Rollergirl1 · 28/10/2009 15:35

CarGirl: from what you have said I think we may well live in the same place. Are you the town along from weybridge?

Btw, I have 2 children, a 3yr old and a 1yr old.

CarGirl · 28/10/2009 19:35

Rollergirl - yes that's one! I have a lovely view of the tower block as I sit and type. My youngest dc was 4 in August so sadly now in school so I'm not really playdate material anymore

Rollergirl1 · 28/10/2009 20:02

I too have a lovely view of "the towers" out the back of my house. And quite recently a pile of rubble that the council are intending to just leave as it is. Knobheads.
