I'm 43, ds is 3 next month. I live in London. Janx, think I recognise you from a logn time ago on a similar thread?

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 31/05/2009 01:33

I'm 45 and have a 10.10yo Ds and a 2.5yo Dd. I'm Kent/SE London.

Jacksmama · 31/05/2009 05:41

I turned 40 in April - do I qualify? DS is 15 months so I was practically geriatric when he was born. I live on the West Coast of Canada so I'm up at ridiculous hours when you're all snoozing and snoring when you're all up. I usually log on when it's mid-afternoon on MN and find I've missed the day's hot gossip and need someone to clue me in Stupid sun rotation and time zones... mumble grumble...

seeker · 31/05/2009 06:32

I'm 51 and have a 13 year old and an 8 year old - so I definitely qualify!

maltesers · 31/05/2009 17:16

Oh Hello SEEKER... n;ice to hear we older mothers are not alone.... Are your 2 children from different relationships?. I have 3 children . My 3rd child is from my 2nd relationship .

Hi JACKMAMA... nice to hear from mums in Canada. How is life over there ?? Do you work?
Was your DS conceived naturally or IVF type of conception. ????

No - I've been with my partner since I was 21! We just didn't want children. Then I got pregnant by mistake. We panicked, got used to the idea, got excited, then miscarried. Then we couldn't wait to try again!

ellceeell · 31/05/2009 20:19

I have 3 children - ds is 22, dd1 is 19 and dd2 is 7. I will be 50 tomorrow. I am really feeling my age.

maltesers · 01/06/2009 14:43

I qualify - I'm 43 and have two under 3! Late starter me I didn't meet 'mr right' until I was a few weeks off my 40th birthday. He's 7 years younger than me and within 6mths I was pregnant I then did some serious celebrating my 42nd birthday and whooops! preggie again...tee hee So my girls are now 2.6 and 1yr last Sat!

I talk to lots of oldies over on the fab and forty+ thread in Pregnancy. Thing is, most of us have popped now but we still hang out there (like a bad smell!) while new 40 somethings arrive with their bumps - waiting to drop.

I'm in Bucks and there are a fair few of us oldies carting LOs about.

janx · 04/06/2009 21:39

maltesers - I dont really qualify but am 46 with DS1 9 and DS2 7 - I live with DW and pop in and out of here throughout the day between other stuff as I work at home.

I always look at Chat threads.

Are you OK? I just thought you sounded a bit down in your post?

janx · 05/06/2009 14:18

Stokey -is Stoke Newington - North London

trebors · 05/06/2009 20:56

Hi
I will be 38 this year, my kids are nearly 7 and 4. I am working full time and it is making me miserable....having another baby would give me some at home time with all the children. But is it the right escape route? After second pregnancy I vowed I wouldnt do it again, but now not so sure. I am the breadwinner at the moment...advice appreciated.

KiwiKat · 06/06/2009 00:42

Hi everyone. I'm in Bethnal Green, Janx. Just a hop, skip and a jump from you.

janx · 06/06/2009 21:55

Hey Kiwi - was in Bethnal Green museum the other day with the dcs...great place

KiwiKat · 07/06/2009 22:44

Yes, we've spent many a rainy afternoon there. And sunny ones in Victoria Park. Do you ever get over that way? (Sorry for hijack, by the way)

maltesers · 08/06/2009 13:10

Thats tough for you Trebors, being the main bread winner at the moment. However, you are a spring chicken compared to us mums of 48- 50 !!
Thats ok KIWIKAT... We older mothers need to converse ....
I am moving house on Friday, with 18 yr old DD digging her heels in and refusing to pack up her room as she doesnt want to move. Any suggestions.. ???? . those maybe with experience of teenagers.

janx · 08/06/2009 19:19

Don't often go to Vicky park - my top favourites are highgate woods, coram fields, springfield park and highbury fields. How old are your dcs?

KiwiKat · 08/06/2009 21:38

Have just the one ds, Janx, he's turning three this month.

Tricky moving when some of the family don't want to - no advice to give, Maltesers, just sympathy!
