Devon/Cornwall meet up anyone?

Is anyone interested in meeting up in Devon/Cornwall or somewhere in between? I'm thinking of Exeter/Plymouth or somewhere nearby.

Oooh yes please. I'd even offer to "host" a lunch kids and all if anyone is interested (Plymouth).

Jimjams, that's so nice of you. If you and any others organise something, I will watch the thread to see how plans develop. Since we stay with inlaws when we visit, and we don't know their plans for us too far in advance, I cannot confidently predict when I can excuse myself plus children from their company. But if I can make anything, I definitely will do so.

I'm happy to go wherever- I'm a bit limited on venues though if its a "with kids" event as ds1 is autistic - someone's home=fine, restaurant=absolute no no. Playpark hmmmmm maybe. Theme park/farm- again probably a no no. He's at nursery 4 mornings a week so providing I can get back to pick him up that's another possibility.

I'd love to do a meet up. Exeter and daytime is best for me but am mobile and can draft husband in to babysit if necessary.

OK, shall we do it then? Jimjams, does it make it easier for you if you host it or would it be easier for you to do it when your ds is at nursery/asleep if we do an evening do? It sounds as if we would all get longer to talk if we did it without children but I'm happy to do with or without. Plymouth is nearer for me than Exeter, although I'll happily go somewhere in between. Except I can't think of anywhere in between!

Sounds good. Now I'm going to start sounding like a nightmare.

I'm happy to do an evening do, but it would probably have to be inbetween rather than Exeter. Totnes? Ashburton? There's that pub just off the A38 on the Totnes road if coming from Plymouth (vague directions my speciality). It serves quite good food. It may have a very small caravan site behind it but I may be mixing that up with somewhere else. I can ask my Mum and Dad- they would know the name, and where it is (helpful).

I can do a Monday daytime in Exeter- I think I would be a bit short of time to come whilst ds1 is at nursery (I have to pick him up at 12.30ish) - and Monday is the only day he doesn't go. We couldn't really go to a restaurant with ds1- he can't sit still. Soft play etc is unpredictable and I don't in all honesty think I could manage ds1 and ds2. DS1 would be fine in someone's house- and is much easier than a "normal" four year old as he's happy just looking at the washing machine, stairs and microwave. We've only started to childproof our house now with ds2- didn't have to with ds1.

I could do a morning without ds1 sort of Totnes way- any further and I don't have the time because of picking up ds1. I can't think of anywhere suitable though.

I can host any day any time, except Wednesday afternoons as ds1 has portage. That would probably be easiest for me, but I am happy to travel.

Sorry I'm a nightmare. What restrictions does everyone else have?

OK, in the evening without children then? What about Ashburton? Don't know it at all but will find somewhere if everyone's on for it. Ghengis, beetroot, could you make it there? Anyone else interested?

Sounds good. I don't know Ashburton at all either, but I always think that it looks an interesting town.

I know there's good eating place in Ashburton - have been there but can't remember the name. Will ask MIL and FIL for details. Probably can't come but at least I can make suggestions from a distance.

Hi Jimjams, saw you're around and just thought I'd revive this - are you up for a meet at the end of June? And are you still willing to host? (BTW, I'm not upset with you at all, I saw you'd mentioned it on another thread, so I'm sorry if I seemed it - things did get a bit heated here last week ) Anyone else interested?

I'm more than willing to host. Have got a playroom geared up for little ones as do part time registered childminding. But I haven't been on mumsnet for long, so would understand any reluctance.

Where are you norma? I'm not reluctant -I'm happy to go to you but if you read about my ds1 you might be (he's autistic- actually he's very good and doesn't really touch anything- but he would give your doors and stairs a good looking at).

Hiya Jimjams, I am in Ivybridge and have a 19mth old son so the house is very childproof! Your son would be no problem at all for me, although I appreciate he may be more comfortable in familiar surroundings. How many others are interested?

DS1 is fine anywhere (or he'll be at school or nursery- which might be easier for me as I'd then get to talk!) Ds2 is 22 months - he's the menace.

I'm in Mannamead- easy to find. It's easy enough for me to get to Ivybridge or I'm happy for you to come here.

I don't think there are many of us down here.

You've reminded me I have to go to Endsleigh Garden Centre. DS1 's teacher has promised me I'll be able to do all my xmas shopping there

Yes, Endsleigh is great for xmas shopping. Some things are quite a bit more expensive than could perhaps be found elsewhere, but it's great to do it all under one roof and avoid Plymouth! I went to toysrus recently and hated it. One year I bought my sister a bird table for xmas, my stepdad a garden statue, and my mum a potted jasmine! Santsa grotto is open now and that's always good, but I haven't been myself yet. It would be fun to meet up.

In the middle of Exeter but am mobile! As we all know Endsleigh garden centre we could have a coffee/lunch there? I don't enjoy driving in the dark so daytime is better for me (wimp!). If anyone wants to come to Exeter I make a mean cup of tea!
