Due in Nov 2008 - London Ladies Wot Tea

Thought this would be easier than hijacking the general Nov thread.

The plan is to go to The Cadogan for Afternoon Tea at 3pm on Friday 3rd October. The Cost is just under £17 per person (maybe a bit more if we are an odd number).

I have made a reservation for 8 people just so we have something down (although they need to confirm it) but I think we need to give them firm numbers before the date. So can you please add your name here if you want to come.

So far we have:

ChocOrange05
Dozymare
MonkeyMargot
Hanaflower
Cricri

Anyone else??

AutumnLady · 01/10/2008 13:58

Me too!! See you at the hotel (whoever is making it there first).

URGENT

The Cadogan called me at 5.30pm this evening to say that they are carrying out unexpected renovations tomorrow and have to cancel our tea booking for tomorrow - BUGGERS!!!!!!!

So, cue frantic me for the last 45 minutes, but with the help of DH I think we have a solution....

NEW PLAN 2.15pm: Sloane Square Hotel for a pre-tea drink
3pm: The Jumeirah Carlton Hotel for afternoon tea.

So now for the good and bad news:

BAD NEWS
Its not so close to Sloane Sq, but in between there and South Ken so it will be a little bit of a walk (10 mins) - but for those ladies meeting at The Sloane Sq hotel for a pre-drink we could share a taxi to get there. And for those not doing the pre-drink you can go to either Sloane Sq or South Ken.

GOOD NEWS
Here's where that ol' PMA comes in handy...

  1. Afternoon tea costs £27pp but there is a two for one special offer, so its cheaper than the Cadogan at £13.50 each!
  2. The Cadogan (buggers buggers) have apologised and offered to rebook us at a later date and throw in two free bottles of champagne which, whilst in our current state is not useful, we could save for a post baby meet up (which hopefully Merry and Obs can come to)

Please can everyone (Dozymare, MonkeyMargot, Hanaflower, Cricri and AutumnLady) acknowledge this post so I know you have read it and know the new plan. I am really sorry about all this but I hope the new plan is ok for everyone?

Dozymare · 02/10/2008 18:19

Right , shall we start a new one then.
For a post birth Nov 08 London meet up.

Am kind of hoping that ChocO and Dozy will take over and sort this for me, becasue I have no knowledge of London, or where is a good place to meet (hint hint ladies)
But if they don't, I am happy to have a stab at it.

Like I said, I am sure MerryM commented that she would prefer meet up in a certain are of London, and no tube, is that right ? Any other suggestions/requests, please feel free.

so list begins- add your name:

I could do bluewater, greenwich, anywhere east/south on m25 as far round as say, caterham.

actually, i could do london. there is a lift at stratford, so could park there and then get out at a stop with a lift...canary wharf, westminster (off the top of my head), can check map for other places.

or, you can all come to my place !!!

I don't mind organising but we need to decide on location. I figure central london is going to be most convienient as we are all spaced around it. What about near to one of the national rail stations? Waterloo, Victoria, London Bridge, Liverpool St - a lot of overland (read: buggy friendly!) trains go to those stations and you can get buses between them?

We also need a date!
