I love in Moray and have only lived here for 2.5 years but am just starting to find my feet and wondering if there's anyone else around here who fancies a meet up?

Oh yes you are right Flier I remember where you are.
I am envious much better than my (extremely flowery but not particularly pretty) town.

The kids here go back to school on the 19th stitch so I personally could hassle you in the first day or 2 of your holiday.

stitch · 31/07/2008 18:36

okie, now that i am over my intitial excitement, the highlands are a pretty big place....
how are we going to decide where to meet? i know i dont particularly want to travel much after my two day journey to get there, iyswim.
i am staying in a place near aviemore this year.

hold on, just how are we going to do this? the highlands are mahoozive place. i am happy to meet up on themonday, the18th, anywhere fairly close by. can we do it? what if you are travelling down from wick? or from skye? i wouldnt go to a birmingham meetup from london, and wouldnt it be similar distance wise?

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 31/07/2008 22:13

Well how about we sugest Inverness and see how we go from there? I agree people coming from further north may not want to but we could see how people feel and maybe move it north of Inverness more centrally??

Mind you my neighbours dd and her DH live on Skye and regularly travel to Inverness for shopping and stuff just because you get so accustomed to having to travel for better choice etc when you live up here.

Is it really sad that I am excited???? I never thought living this far north I would ever get to go to a meet up.

stitch · 31/07/2008 22:50

i love mn meetups. especially the big ones in london. you get to meet so many people you chat with. i remember going to one where someone came all the way from france!
okie, you now need to organise this. when, hwere, who is coming. etc and give an idea of cost of whatever we do.
whilst i am very happy that you have accepted me into the fold, i dont actually know the highlands very well, ie, i only know the places i have been to.
so where we going, when? etc

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 01/08/2008 06:42

Well depends on what we are doing is this without children?? If it is as everyone is travelling abit we should decide on what time everyone can make it first.

I will be standing patiently waiting with my clipboard for everyone to come along now

IAteRosemaryConleyForBreakfast · 01/08/2008 08:06

Well, if it's a piss up evening event a Saturday night would seemingly be easiest from a travel and work POV I guess, but if it's a daytime meet (nothing to say we can't have a piss up glass of Pimm's then too) then Wednesdays and weekends and the odd Friday for me.

Inverness is fine (but no idea where's a good place to go [recluse emoticon])

stitch · 01/08/2008 08:32

i think you should go ahead with the meetup. i wont be able to make saturday as driving up from the south that day. but if that suits the rest of you, do it, dont change for me.
but i shall keep an eye on this theead to see what happens

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 01/08/2008 10:14

An earlier piss up ahem glass of pimms may be better if people are travelling a bit but rumour has it i'm easy ether way.

mamadiva · 01/08/2008 12:19

Hello all back again.
Inverness is good for me but again don't really know of anywhere, but of course if there are no bambino's involved we could just randomly stumble into any bar we see for a bigvoddy pimms of course.

God I hope the line thing works this time
