Are we having one this year?
Is it too early to think about it?
Who's going to organise it?

OOOHHH! Could we make it on a Friday (or Thursday afternoon) as I'd be able to make it then (having to save up leave as ds starts school in september and will need for eg 1/2 term etc). Roundhay fine for me. Alternatively, Golden Acre has working cafe if that would make it any easier....

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 15:56

I'm on holiday from the 19th to the 26th.

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 16:00

Of July!

I meant to add that part.

Fullmoonfiend · 19/05/2008 16:04

oh it was great fun last year (for any newer members who are dithery)
Depends on dates for me as I am working 4 days a week now Though my day off is vaguely flexible as to whether it's a monday or friday...

Yes, do let's do a xmas one too!

fryalot · 19/05/2008 16:08

so...

How about Friday, 15th August, can everyone do that date?

Does anyone have a better idea than the large park in Leeds? Is there anywhere more central to the whole of Yorkshire?

OP posts:
kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 16:11

That date is brilliant for me. I can get to Leeds ok but I might have to bring DH as getting round Leeds will be a problem as I'm not sure of my way round.

He can carry everything!

I'm trying to work out how pregnant I'll be but my brain won't work.

fryalot · 19/05/2008 16:24

I think about 24, 25 weeks...

OP posts:
kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 16:26

Yeah you are right. So should have a bump!!

I've got my 1st scan next Friday(sorry for hijack)

bellavita · 19/05/2008 16:49

Friday 15th August ok for me

bellavita · 19/05/2008 16:53

There is that place near Aberford - can't flippin well remember the name now and we passed the sign on Saturday. Will ask DH what it is called when he comes in.

fryalot · 19/05/2008 16:56

ooh, good pub at Aberford

OP posts:
youknownothingofthecrunch · 19/05/2008 16:57

Whitby's really central, honest guv

15th is possibly possible for me.

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 16:58

LOL

I was there Saturday. Weather was horrible.

fryalot · 19/05/2008 16:59

yes, that's right YKNOTC, because on the other side of Whitby, you know the bit that everyone thinks is sea, it's really the hidden part of Yorkshire. Commonly known as Atlantis.

OP posts:
bellavita · 19/05/2008 17:01

Do you mean the Swan Squonk?

bellavita · 19/05/2008 17:01

Lotherton Hall - knew I would remember it eventually.

fryalot · 19/05/2008 17:03

yes I mean the swan. Lovely pub, nice beer, nice food, odd queueing system for a table, but worth it in the end.

Unless it's changed in the last five years... it's been a while since we were there.

Yeah, Lotherton Hall. I know it, never been, but I know where it is.

It's handy for us drivers, but is it on a bus/train route, do you know. If not, then it's out because the public transport people won't be able to get there.

OP posts:
bellavita · 19/05/2008 17:05

HaHa - hadn't thought about bus/train route. See we need sensible people on here like you

Haven't been to the Swan for ages - about two years now, we were waiting for the door to open at teatime as we were on our way to Manchester Airport.

fryalot · 19/05/2008 17:07

dp and I took dd1 there for her first "getting to know you" date with him.

We all had steak & kidney pie.

He had a pint of Landlord. I just had a half because I was driving home.

oh, happy days....

OP posts:
soremummy · 19/05/2008 17:08

Oooh just seen this and would love to join you if we don't go away. It's only a couple of miles to Roundhay for me. Might even bring my 2 older dd's they have their uses like chasing after their little sis who (god help us will probably be running by them she took 2 steps yesterday)
