Right - need to get myself on this thread and am also free next Weds (I think), so a meet-up would be nice if anyone else is around. Haven't been to Bluewater for ages.

Emelia · 13/01/2005 09:51

I'm free most of the time(though have to work around school hours). Bluewater would be great for me , i do drive but am not very confident going to places i don't know! Please give me a shout if a date gets set.

Aero · 13/01/2005 13:45

So is anyone around for coffee/lunch next Weds (19th) at Bluewater then?

Emelia · 13/01/2005 14:27

Sounds great though i feel nervous have never done anything like this before! My daughter is a bit of a mare & isn't great at sitting in a pushchair but as long as we meet somewhere she can eat i'm sure she'll be ok! Where will you be coming from?

Aero · 13/01/2005 14:42

Will be coming from Medway. Will probably bring ds some bits to munch on too as he's not a lover of sitting contentedly in the buggy either, but will be fine if nibbling!
Freckle - how about you.
BTw Emilia - don't be nervous - we're nice - really!

Emelia · 13/01/2005 14:50

How old is ds? My dd is 17 months.

KBear · 13/01/2005 15:22

I can't come next Wednesday as I have to work alternate Wednesdays - boo. I will keep checking this thread for future dates though, and Emelia and Gooders - shall we have a coffee in Bexleyheath on Tuesday 18th? I will CAT you both to discuss - I would rather make the arrangements offline IYKWIM. Also, of course anyone near us is welcome.

Emelia · 13/01/2005 15:39

Tues is fine with me as long as i can leave about 2ish-have a meeting at my sons school at 2.45pm. Look forward to hearing from you. Next weeks agenda is looking rather exciting :0

Emelia · 13/01/2005 15:49

Just remembered am at toddler group with dd between 9.30 & 10.30 so sometime betwwen 11 & 2pm would suit best though could always miss toddler group if you were looking to meet up early.(just tried to put a smiley icon in but it didn't work , i'll try again!

Emelia · 13/01/2005 15:50

.....have the hang of it now!

Freckle · 13/01/2005 15:53

Next Wednesday is fine for me. What time? Still meeting in Starbucks (the one opposite Waterstone's)??

Emelia · 13/01/2005 16:50

Am happy to meet anywhere just so long as it's child friendly , my daughter doesn't usually sit still for very long though. I'm not familiar with starbucks do they sell other things beside coffee so i can feed her & chat? The original meet time was 11.30am shall we stick with that?

Freckle · 13/01/2005 18:19

Starbucks sells all sorts of goodies, including cakes, muffins, etc. If you're worried that your dd might not eat these, just bring something for her. I doubt that they'd object.

11.30am is fine for me.

pipsy1 · 13/01/2005 19:18

I'm fairly new to Mumsnet but would love to join in a Bluewater meet up sometime. Can't do next Weds as car in for service so transport-less. Can you keep me posted if you set another date, or do I need to be a bit more on-line chatty so you can get to know me.....

Cadbury · 13/01/2005 19:48

Are you a Kent girl pipsy?

pipsy1 · 13/01/2005 20:02

Yep, just outside Tonbridge

Gilli · 13/01/2005 20:09

I'm a Kent girl (she says rather folornly) but I bet I'm the oldie, as I'm 44 with children of 14, 11, 9 and 2. I'm also too much of a wimp to attempt driving to Bluewater ever again, but I could manage coffee in Maidstone, or even better Tunbridge Wells, and I know Canterbury a bit.

pipsy1 · 13/01/2005 20:13

I'm following closely behind at 37 and only have one DD of 17 months!

Dingle · 13/01/2005 20:34

Well I'm even closer behind!!! I'll be 39 in March!! I will have to start compiling my list of things to do before I'm 40!!!

I suppose I can't really say I'm Kentish! I come from grand old Peckaham in S.E London really but have lived in Kent for about 16 years now.

He he,, I remember thinking how rural Dartford was when I first moved out of LOndon!

Dingle · 13/01/2005 20:35

Or even ...Peckham! oopps

pipsy1 · 13/01/2005 20:42

Do you like it now though? Better with kids I guess. BTW how many do you have?

Dingle · 13/01/2005 20:55

Well I've moved again since then, down in Medway now. And yes, I can't ever imagine living back up in London now.

It was good at the time, I worked uptown and getting about was so easy.

BTW I have a ds of 5 and a dd of 3 to keep me occupied down here in deepest, darkest, rural Kent!

KBear · 13/01/2005 21:21

Hello Kentish maids. I'm Kbear and I have a DD of almost 6 and a DS of 3 (who just started nursery "all by his own" this week so I am desolate without him - next week I will be kicking my heels and thinking yippee, freedom, what shall I do for me.....but not yet (sob)!

Looking forward to meeting some of you for coffee and chats!
x

Aero · 13/01/2005 21:55

Sorry - have just got back to this now. Yes - Weds at Starbucks at 11.30 would be great. Is that on the upper level (haven't been there for a while - can you tell?). Can anyone else make it?
Can also do Maidstone - not very familiar with there, but could probably find my way.
Emilia - ds2 has his first birthday tomorrow.

Aero · 13/01/2005 21:58

Is Rickman around? If you are, could you make Weds?
