Who would like to join me and some of the West London Mums and Kids for a visit to the Museum of Childhood (dd2 calls it the Toy Museum!) Details here during Half Term - Thursday 21st February or Friday 22nd February...

They are doing a Space Age exhibition at the moment - looks exciting.

Sign up here on dates you can do and I'll take a count (just copy my name and dates on your reply). Hope to catch up with some of you then (if not before).

MrsRecycle 21st/22nd

MrsRecycle · 19/01/2008 10:46

Oh that's a shame steppie but nice for yuo - are you going anywhere nice?

Yes this is a brilliant place where kids can just run riot to their hearts content. Maybe another time eh?

stepfordwife · 20/01/2008 10:47

well were toying with idea of cotswolds until saw would cost abt £700 for three days!! now canterbury being mooted for visiting rellies.
deffo another time

MrsRecycle · 21/01/2008 10:13

Gosh that's a lot - Barcelona was half that price (not that dh's cheap!). Canterbury sounds good though.

Right it looks like its settled for Friday 22nd February - anyone else care to join us?

eleusis · 21/01/2008 15:46

WE might come, depending on how the nanny's last minute holiday request pans out. She is with us 'til the end of Feb and has just reminded me she still has 3 day of hols (which sadly I may have to accept is actually 5 days). So, looks like I'm facing a week of unplanned hols. And the Hell if I'm taking it when I have to do the school run. So Friday of mid term sounds very doable. I have no idea where this place is.

I too will probably train/tube it. I'd probably drive to Richmond and hop on the tube there.

MrsRecycle · 21/01/2008 17:01

Oh brilliant eleusis (well for us - not you!) - apparently its right opposite the tube station. We can sort out transport/etc closer the time.

If you need some temp help at the end of Feb half-term week, my AP (the one we spoke about last) will be available as lo's are going to ILs so she'll be free - she can stay at yours (I can drop her off). I can run the suggestion by her, if you want.

eleusis · 21/01/2008 17:19

It's looking like I'm in -- pending holiday approval from work. But, of course, I'm goimng to present this like "Oh damn got no childcare" and not "would you mind sir?" I mean cause really if they say "no you can't have it" I'm going to say right which desk can DS play on all day then, and which one for DD. She gets very upset if youhave Cbeebies blocked on the firewall so can you please make sure Charlie and Lola is available for the whole day.

ThinkI'l just go with "oh bugger, darned naany wants her hols which I'm legally obliged to give... as you are mine. "

We went last weekend and it was brill.

Really close to the Tube, lovely cafe (a bit pricey), but they also have an indoor picnic room.

We were there for c.5 hours and the Dc's didn't really want to leave then. Entry is free, there is a shop, although it's not really rammed down your throat iyswim, but you might want to take a supply of 20p coins, as things like the train set are slot operated.

You'll have a great time. Might be a bit of a culture shock if you're coming from Up West tho'
