Who would like to join me and some of the West London Mums and Kids for a visit to the Museum of Childhood (dd2 calls it the Toy Museum!) Details here during Half Term - Thursday 21st February or Friday 22nd February...

They are doing a Space Age exhibition at the moment - looks exciting.

Sign up here on dates you can do and I'll take a count (just copy my name and dates on your reply). Hope to catch up with some of you then (if not before).

Yes, just planning and wanted to make sure I didn't put down the wrong date in hormone-befuddled state

MrsRecycle · 04/02/2008 21:40

Oh I remember it well - its still there some days . Looking forward to catching up with you again.

When do we decide what time and where to meet?

MrsRecycle · 04/02/2008 21:54

I was going to say around 11am - meet in the entrance - how's that for everyone?

OP posts:
redadmiral · 04/02/2008 21:57

Sounds good.

PortAndLemon · 04/02/2008 22:07

I might bring another non-Mumsnetter, if that would be OK (I see MrsR is already doing that).

MrsRecycle · 05/02/2008 11:41

The more the merrier lemon!!

eleusis · 11/02/2008 12:41

I'm going to have to take my name off the list. I will now be working on this day. Nanny was sick for two days last week so I had to take unplanned holiday. And so DH is now taking this day off and I'm going to work.

So everything think of me slaving away at work while you go play at the toy museum.

MrsRecycle · 13/02/2008 13:36

Oh no eleusis - that's a shame. dd2 will miss her dressing up buddy. How's Nanny now?

OP posts:
eleusis · 13/02/2008 14:29

She's better. But she's been eating plain toast for breakfast for the last week because her usual fruit makes her feel a bit unwell. So today DD said "So, are you going to just eat toast every day from now on then?" Needless to say she was told off for being rude. It was kind of funny though.

Yes, we should get the dresser uppers together soon. You can come round and see my new Astra if you want.

MrsRecycle · 14/02/2008 12:49

for dd's telling off - when she was just asking a question based on current evidence. Very smart of her I say.

I'd love to come over and see sparkly new car - just a bit busy the next couple of weeks. I've got my GMa's memorial service coming up and I need to prepare some stuff for it. But after that's fine - and I can show you my sparkly new car as well (vw touran).

eleusis · 14/02/2008 13:14

There was a definite sarcastic strop in DD's tone. And I'm the one who told her off. Although, you might be right because DD did look rather surprised I wondered if I'd mis interpreted her intent. Oh well, she's a tough kid and she'll get over it.

MrsRecycle · 19/02/2008 12:20

So the final roll-call for this Friday 22nd is:

MrsRecycle
MrsRecycle's df
Fitfox
Sugarmatches
elkiedee
COV
lemonaid
Redadmiral

Meeting in the foyet at around 11am - check out my profile for a picture of me.

In respect of buggies/feeding etc, have copied this from the site...
"We have a baby feeding room with bottle warming facilities and baby changing facilities are available in both the male and female toilets. The Museum has a buggy park located in The Front Room gallery. Items are left at the owner's risk."

Looking forward to catching up/meeting you on Friday.

Anyone travelling from Kew or Richmond by tube?

The thought of taking 3 DCs and a double buggy on the tube makes my hair stand on end

MrsRecycle · 19/02/2008 13:46

you can always come over to mine and we can go up together - am on the Central line so is a straight line all the way there (no changing). Or else what about the Overline BR to Stratford which is disabled accessibile and then a couple of stops to Bethnal Green (where I can meet you).

OP posts:
redadmiral · 19/02/2008 22:50

Will see you there. Better warn you we've been about 15 mins late for everything this week, but will make superhuman effort to get everyone out the door on time on Friday.

DaphneHarvey · 19/02/2008 22:54

Just want to warn you all not to drive! Although the museum is outside of the congestion charging zone, parking is £3.50 per hour if you can find a meter. And the meters don't take cards - you have to pay for it all in £1 and 50p coins. But most of the streets within 20 min walk are Residents Parking only.

I only discovered this when I went there with a friend yesterday . Also, there is not much choice in the cafe, eat early before they run out of everything.

Otherwise a lovely place! Hope you have lots of fun.

fitfox · 20/02/2008 13:56

MrsR - could you e-mail me your post code please so I can street map you and also the name of the tube station you will be departing from?

I am still unsure - I love the thought of being there but dread the prospect of the journey...

fitfox · 20/02/2008 13:57

SFX BTW if I do go you could come in the car with us to where we meet MrsR and come on the tube with us - strength in numbers and all that

ComeOVeneer · 20/02/2008 13:59

Have to bow out of this now I'm afraid. DH is taking friday off work to spend time with the children, so I get a day to myself. I did try to persaude him to go with you lot, but he wasn't very keen(no offence, tbh I think he finds the idea of mners a tad intimidating ).

PortAndLemon · 20/02/2008 14:11

I'll still be coming (via District and Central Line), am checking with friend.

MrsRecycle · 21/02/2008 08:06

Have caught the dready flu from dh but am not feeling as bad as he was so still planning on going (can't let dd2 down she is so excited). Foxie, will email you.

OP posts:
PortAndLemon · 21/02/2008 16:57

Right, will be me, DS (3), bump, friend plus her DD (3) and DS (nearly 7 months).

Fortunately those of you I know I know real names for so I won't be forced to introduce people by screen names (which can cause the uninitiated in RL to give you Strange Looks) .

redadmiral · 21/02/2008 17:38

We are still coming, though I hope we won't offend by keeping a discreet distance from the stricken members of the party - DD1 is bridesmaid at her dad's wedding the following week, and to say she's been looking forward to it is something of an understatement!

Portandlemon - you do know my name. I emailed you last year about photography courses, I've just changed my MN name since. (Not stalking you, honest...)

I am going to take some sandwiches in my bag, just because that's what I always do, just in case. Don't mind whether we eat there or not.

redadmiral · 21/02/2008 19:05

Sorry MrsR, I've added insult to injury by not even wishing you a speedy recovery, which of course I do. Hope it's a 24hr thing.
