Babywearing slingmeet tentatively planned for:

Thursday 27th December 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Hawthorn Community Centre
The Green
Hawthorn
Co. Durham

It is very close to Dalton Park Retail Park off the A19.

Come along if you would like to know more about babywearing, try out a few different types of slings and get advice from a few established babywearing mums.

Our last slingmeet was at Antioch House, Durham City in November.

Do they hold these regularly? I can't come to this one as baby due any second now (you hear me now baby - ANY SECOND NOW), I've got a sling and not entirely sure how to use it!

we are trying to hold them regularly but we are not quite there yet. The next one is tentatively planned for February half term but may happen earlier.

what kind of sling have you got at the mo? I am willing to give you some (virtual) tips if you'd like.

I have a coory and carry sling from Freedom Slings.

coories are good. (fleece if i remember rightly) the thing with pouch slings is that it has to be a match for size but fleece ones stretch so they are more forgiving than cotton ones.

I don't know the carry ones. if you would like to try out/get pointers on ring slings, wrap slings, mei tais, etc. deffo try to make a sling meet. there should be one in Feb half term.

ahh, just googled coory and carry. i see that it is one sling.

Definitely! Got a selection of nappies from the council but the instructions are crap, so a fellow mum who is a real nappy officianado has kindly offered to help me!

dh is a illogically poo-phobic so I went for disposables with dd to keep the peace - and to make sure he did his fair share of nappy duties.

Men huh!

Dp is very pro real nappies, he goes around asking people what they would rather have against their bum, paper or lovely soft nappy!

dh's aversion to poo used to be like some people's aversion to creepy crawlies.

he's better now but early days with dd was [roll eyes] on my behalf. maybe one day with a number two he will be different.

Probably, tis amazing how you become immune to all sorts of bodily fluids and excrement after having a baby

I had to clean up a lot of Dp's vomit when he had a d&v bug a while ago. Did it without a thought. Pre ds I would have been gagging the whole time and adding to the mess myself!
