The Mumsnet Xmas party will be in the evening (8pm I guess?) at Latin Square and Club Havana in Farringdon Road, Clerkenwell

VENUE

Details here of the venue. We have exclusive use of the restaurant for the whole night, we can use the cocktail bar too and get free entry to Club Havana all night. I have been and checked it out, my review is here

FOOD

Cost - £26 to include a tip
The food is the Xmas menu, we have chosen:

Starters

Smoked salmon and asparagus - smoked salmon wrapped asparagus spears served with cream cheese
Goat?s cheese salad - with rocket leaves, Goat?s cheese, tomato and olive oil vinaigrette
Selection of Cured Meats - A selection of cured Spanish meats with manchego cheese and melon
Vegetable skewers - Lime-flavoured char-grilled seasonal vegetables with fresh basil, olive oil and balsamic vinegar
Spanish omelette - A traditional Spanish potato and onion omelette
Turkey Breast & cranberry sauce - Turkey breast wrapped with Serrano ham served with cranberry sauce

Mains

Mix Sea Food - Deep fried seafood mix served with lemon, sea salt and aioli
Chorizo - pan fried in red wine sauce
Paella rice with chicken - Traditional paella rice with chicken and traditional herbs
Quesadillas Fiesta - Grilled tortilla parcel with vegetable mix and double cheese filling served with sour cream and salsa mexicana
Spare ribs - pork spare ribs in a hickory bbq sauce
Stuffed Bell Peppers - stuffed with rice, tomato sauce and authentic herbs topped with buffalo mozzerella

Pudding choices (you must choose one)

  1. Organic mango and coconut cheesecake
  2. Lemon meringue pie with a scoop of strawberry ice-cream made with double cream
  3. A shot of Christmas Slammer made with our imported tequila to get you in a great party mood (as opposed to English tequila one presumes)

BOOZE

No booze is included. You have to order and pay for whatever you want on the night

All come on platters to share served at tables.

PAYMENT (for new people signing up and those who have not yet paid)

IF YOU HAVE PAYPAL

  • Pls send £27.08 (NOT US Dollars which is the default) to countessdrac at gmail dot com. This is £26 + 3.4% plus £0.20 GBP which is what I will be charged to use this.
  • Ensure you put your MN posting name in there somewhere so I know who it is from.
  • Pls post on here to say you have paid and post your choice of Pudding (choices at bottom of this post) at the same time.

IF YOU HAVE A BANK A/C FROM WHICH YOU CAN MAKE A DIRECT TRANSFER EG INTERNET OR TELEPHONE BANKING

OliveOil

I owe you an apology. I was genuinely concerned about you, but NLNN's thread was not the place to raise it.

I apologise most profusely.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 19/10/2007 22:08

,

ScaryScaryNight · 19/10/2007 23:22

Seriously CD. Give my ticket to somebody.

nailpolish · 20/10/2007 12:13

olive
we could accomodate you on our floor, no probs

oh YOU MUST come

Carmenere · 20/10/2007 12:30

Starry don't be bloody silly. If you are having a bad time in rl atm, well this is when you will benefit most from your new friends on mn. Even if you don't want to confide you can still use it as a distraction, for entertainment and gossip and don't take things to heart so much.

I guarantee you that 99.9 percent of mners either didn't see that post or couldn't give a hoot either way. I certainly couldn't and can you imagine any of the mners at the meet up I met you at caring? No, most on here are a little more sophisticated than that.(and the others don't warrant your, or my attention)

AND anyway if your livelyhood is in trouble it would be a criminal waste of money not to use your ticket. You must come

nailpolish · 20/10/2007 12:34

i for one dont know what you are on about Scary

Carmenere · 20/10/2007 12:36

Exactly Naily and I'm fairly sure you wouldn't care if you did

Carmenere · 20/10/2007 12:38

And the poster in question was wrong because Tnog doesn't have a problem with you and although I don't know her I am familiar with her brand of Irish Bohemian and they are non-judgemental by their very nature

crassstupidobtuseperson · 20/10/2007 13:06

You should go starry. The poster was wrong. The poster was trying to stick up for tnog, who did not need it. The poster is so busy trying to deal with her problems she did not take into account your feelings. The poster was wrong.

You are a very nice person, the poster was not there on the evening, on the thread in mind, but can now see how easily things may have confused for you. The poster, also had some emails from other advising her of the situation,or possibly would have said nothing, as she would not have even known about it.

The poster is very sorry and wishes you all the best in the future.

The poster also thinks you really should go the Christmas Meet up.

zippitippitoes · 20/10/2007 15:33

ditto ive absoluytelt no idea what starryscary is talking about and really don't think it would make any difference if i did

Respect. Your post took guts. And shows your kind heart. Much appreciated.

I hope you manage to sort your RL issues, and will continue to use MN for support and friendship.

Well wishes and best of luck. And I mean it.

Slubberdegullion · 21/10/2007 09:50

Question: Should I continue to bid on this Lilia Strictly Come dancing Latina - size exercise dvd?

I'm not well toned atm, and have concerns re latina stylee dance moves at the party. Maybe I could kill two birds with one stone with it?

Carmenere · 21/10/2007 09:53

Well if you want to but I'll just be throwing my flabby old body around the dance floor in a blissful 'I think I'm great' manner fueled by tequila

StarryStarryNight · 21/10/2007 09:56

Thanks Carmenere for trying to drill some sense into me.

NotQuiteCockney · 24/10/2007 17:21

CD, I've sent you an email, I am not booked for this evening, so would love to come. Let me know that's ok and I'll paypal you.
