Off to home to get some sleep.

rosmerta · 28/08/2007 13:33

right have caught up now!

Paddle - glad you & dd had a good time in spite of family arguments.

Foxie - glad the baptism went well!

Mellow - congrats on the contract and hope your trip to Glasgow today wasn't too tiring.

Kew & steppie - glad you had good holidays too!

Sushi - hope you get better soon.

Have I missed anyone? Sorry if so

SJ99 · 28/08/2007 18:05

Hi Ros, am free to meet this week, what do you fancy doing? Might have car on Thurs and Fri.

hope you feel better soon Sushi, drink lots of lemon and honey, always makes me feel a bit better

slng · 28/08/2007 19:36

Hi,

Foxcub - went to Bunny park last week but kookaburras seem to be missing! Good place for meet-up if weather is nice.

Stepfordwife - I work part-time, 5 mornings. Not-so-good arrangement for me (rush kids to nursery, rush to pick them up) but good for the kids. I think. (I hope.)

SJ99 - we went to a wedding last week too. They had a giant snake-and-ladder game on the lawn, but the great hit was the enormous blow-up dice!

Mellow (and whoever is interested) - I have some homemade Chinese stuff on the web if you want: www.jon.demon.co.uk/chinese Page in simplified chinese but content in traditional -haven't worked out how to input traditional script in editor yet ...

foxcub · 28/08/2007 20:07

Hi everyone

2cute - I have booked an Aboriginal Australian massage with the voucher you girls treated me to when DS2 was born. Its on Thursday which is my birthday . I am really looking forward to it!!!

I will be thinking of you lot whilst I lie there being pummelled!

Talking of which, SJ< I wonder where those Kookaburras went then?

sfxmum · 28/08/2007 20:22

sfxmum · 28/08/2007 20:39

well she started it, better take responsibility for the rest of her pink education

I need an early bed, went jogging again today, feeling saintly, not even touching the wine in the fridge[halo emoticon]

mellow2 · 29/08/2007 06:05

Hello all,
Gosh, it's been really quiet on here.

Sfx,
Yesterday was a really long day for me but otherwise it was okay.

foxcub · 29/08/2007 13:17

R U working 4 days a week mellow?

SJ99 · 29/08/2007 13:45

Hi All

Thinking it might be potty time soon...DS says poo when I change his nappy. I wasn't going to start potty training yet as he was saying after the event and didn't really associate doing a poo with going to the toilet.
But just in the past few days he has started saying poo 2 secs before he does one, so he must now know that a poo is coming out. Today I went to the toilet and as the door was open he came in and checked my knickers for a poo, LOL!!

What to do next??!
SFX - any tips?

Paddlechick666 · 29/08/2007 14:24

hi sj, dd has started telling me about having done a poo altho she's not quite telling me before.

if she's got her nappy off and running around she definately knows she's about to wee.

there's a potty training boot camp thread by cod that's quite good for tips but dd (and possibly your ds) is too young just yet.

best advice i've had so far is to try and skip the potty and go straight to toilet. i've got one of those kiddie seats (£3.99 tesco) that you put on top of the normal loo seat.

i put dd on the loo 1st thing in the morning, after her nap and before her bath and she generally manages a wee and is inordinately proud of herself too!

friends have said they've had a nightmare transitioning from potty to loo and CM supports that experience. so i'm not really using the potty i bought at all.

you can have it if you like

Paddlechick666 · 29/08/2007 14:25

ps: i definately wasn't expecting to have to deal with this before dd was 2 either!

SJ99 · 29/08/2007 14:43

mmm interesting idea, skipping to potty part and going directly onto toilet, less mess I suppose Will have a rummage around Tesco this weekend for a kiddie seat.

Your DD's new words are impressive. DS seems to be practically learning a new word each day, he has said acorn, spider, fridge, and today's word is library although he can't quite say it properly yet!

sfxmum · 29/08/2007 15:30

hello everyone

SJ - I would second paddle on getting them used to the toilet, but we do use the potty as well mostly because she can use it independently and I feel will allow for more flexibility when we are out.

our toilet set is not stable/ safe enough.
on that subject i just got us a travel potty for the start of our nappyless adventures

hope you are all well

stepfordwife · 29/08/2007 17:01

hi all
hope you're all diddling well

the sun is STILL shining!

dh had op yesterday to remove a basel cell tumour (oh the joys of an australian childhood in the 60s-70s), so has got an impressive array of stitches which ds1 and ds2 keep getting him to show off.

he's fine, but sore and tired, but never mind that., I'm feeling the strain of actually having to pull my weight for once aroud the house

yep, the only thing done on of (ever-growing, ever-unfulfilled) "to do" list over the summers hols was to potty train dd. tbh, she did it herself - and just went straight on to the loo. she had her first "settling in" at nursery this morning and i get to leave her there for a few hours tomorrow.

foxie - birthday girl tomorrow, eh? ha! you'll be as old as moi...enjoy the massage! must pop round for my camera at some point.

mellow - well done for the glasgow trip. did you wear make-up and everything?!
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 29/08/2007 17:02

.hope you're feeling better, sushi

mellow2 · 29/08/2007 17:43

Foxie,
It's a full time role so it's a 5 day week.

Steppie,
I don't wear make-up unless it's a big party I'm going to which is about twice a year. But it doesn't stop me buying lots of cosmetics though.

I certainly can't manage to pile on the slap for an early morning flight.

I'm absolutely knackered so I'm going to put my feet up in front of the telly.

mellow2 · 29/08/2007 17:44

I hope your cold is better too, sushi.

stepfordwife · 29/08/2007 17:50

lol mellow..know what you mean! the only thing my masacara is used for these days is daubing pirate moustaches on the little fellas...

my ENTIRE "make-up bag" = aforementioned masacra, one brown eye-shadow, one concealer thingy, a lip-gloss.
all of which are well past their sell-by date...
call myself a woman?!

like a sneaking fondness for handbags and a furtive desire to start wearing heels (won't though) maybe another girlie gene will kick in in my old age and i'll start on the slap

Kewcumber · 29/08/2007 18:06
