17th November had the most votes, and I think it's time an executive decision is made.

You know the routine. Copy and paste your name into place.

suzycreamcheese · 29/07/2007 00:24

how can 17th november be classed as a christmas anything
not brave mad full enough for it to have ought to do with me though...

custy...you outcast! lol

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 29/07/2007 00:29

Elusis

No offence...................

But who died, and made you boss...

Historically this thing grows like topsy, until we have a degree of agreement. Then we work on that. JULY is far too early. We only did that to wind Custy up. It appears to have taken flight too early.

Custy is historically the keeper of the list, she ........if she has time does badges.

No offence, but it might be a good idea to leave RL at the door and let this just happen

FlameParakeet · 29/07/2007 08:45

I would much prefer the earliest Dec date - there was only 1 person different between the 2 dates, and it is only JULY.

Surely keeping the thread open, bumping it daily, and then deciding on Sept 1st or something would be more sane?!

ComeOVeneer · 29/07/2007 17:24

Bree that was a bit unecessary. Ele made a decision, perhaps not one universally agreed with, and yes she isn't in charge (but the nno-one is), but I believe Custy has already said she doesn't particularly want to organise this year.

eleusis · 29/07/2007 20:07

LGJ, eh? Are you serious? What makes you think I arrived at this date alone? Perhaps ome people (including you) should get involved in the conversation and we could come to some decisions together.

It seems to me that when you get into December many people have many conflicts with work, family, social, whatever Christmas dos.

Your waords were a tad harsh. And I am a tad offended. I do not think organising this party is fun. But, someone needs to do it. And you feel you'd like to take the lead I shall very happily hand over the reins. It is a lot of work that I don't really have time for. Enjoy.

Depends if Custy is going, if so then maybe, if not then NO. She is my heroine and I ain't going if she ain't.

Beetroot · 29/07/2007 20:11

17th too early - I din't see a vote either.

I want to come though - let's re look at the date

UCM · 29/07/2007 20:13

One of my SIL's had their Christmas do last week - WTF. Because she works for Clintons cards I guess, but it seemed a little early.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 29/07/2007 20:14

Fine

It was a tad harsh, but then so was your dictat. Sort it out amongst yourselves. November 17th is too early as is July to be laying down a date.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 29/07/2007 20:14

Well, Im not going if you arent going NM.

July is too early to decide on a date. But then I'm biased, because you picked a date that I cant attend on.....

mustrunmore · 29/07/2007 20:18

Well, if it turns out to be 17th and I go, at least i'll be hung over for ds1's birthday this year, rather than actually out that night , like last year

Anyone who volunteers to organise this is clinically insane.

eleusis · 29/07/2007 20:20

No thanks. 'tis your job now.

I will happily attend this event on almost any Saturday in Nov. or Dec. So, not really bothered if the date moves. But, don't think I fancy putting a lot of work into for posts like yours, LGJ.

I don't think July is too soon to talk about a date. Especially not when we are trying to accommodate CD's schedule. But, hey if you guys don't agree, then I'm quite happy to take a bad seat. Really, organising this shin dig is the last thing I have time fore. So, I'm quite happy to not do it.

OP posts:
eleusis · 29/07/2007 20:21

back seat, not bad seat.

Carmenere · 29/07/2007 20:22

Realistically I have no idea what I will be doing in November/December and I couldn't possibly decide in July to keep a free date then. Lets leave this lie until Sept/Oct time.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 29/07/2007 20:22

As I said Uwila, it will do what it always does, grow organically. Try not to worry too much about it.

LGJ

eleusis · 29/07/2007 20:23

I think you guys are crazy if you think you can book a place with 4 weeks notice, but that's just my humble back seat opinion.

OP posts:
NorthernMusgrave · 29/07/2007 20:24

How about having the do in Tain? It's where I live, very pretty!

Carmenere · 29/07/2007 20:25

No matter what we do, it won't suit everyone. I know we have been having shit weather but lets hang onto what is left of our summer before planning the Xmas meet up. PLEASE

VeniVidiVickiQV · 29/07/2007 20:25

So....

It is decided then? That we havent decided anything yet?

Great

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 29/07/2007 20:26

Agreed.

Beetroot · 29/07/2007 20:27

is there a palce yet?

NorthernMusgrave · 29/07/2007 20:27

Great, I'll find a couple of places, the Carnegie Lodge is great for this kind of thing.

Heathcliffscathy · 29/07/2007 20:28

beetroot, come and stay. tis an order.
