Anybody in Marlow, Bourne End, Wycombe, Maidenhead and/or surrounding areas who wants to meet up?

Me (38), dh (38) and dd (5.5) and ds (2.5) moved to Marlow in February this year And loving it. Still trying to build circle of friends. Though have to say seems so much easier than back in London.

Had built up a west london group but that's sort of a bit too far for me to join them on a regular basis.

Anybody out there in the area who would like to meet up for chat, movies etc.?

Hi CountTo10, don't think we have plans for tomorrow. Shall run it past dh. He'll probably be quite happy to either trundle along or stay at home, but I'm up for it unless he's planned something else.

Shall post a bit later with yay or ney but quite likely to be a yes

DOES anyone know if the fair's on on Sunday afternoon as well and if so, what time?

Whoooosh · 15/06/2007 18:44

Can I just say I am of you all-I love Marlow and surrounding areas...but could only afford a shed in a lay-by unfortunately....

MrsBigD · 16/06/2007 05:32

mumble I think it's on on Sunday starting 11 or 12. I'll check if & when we go today

Whoosh, I know what u mean ;) though some areas are affordable. we 'had to' move to Matlow 'proper' as hubby got a job there and doesn't drive... so I buy £2 jeans and smart price at Asda to make ends meet

CountTo10, are you going today? I'm not sure whether to trust the weather...

CountTo10 · 16/06/2007 11:47

I can't say I'm happy to go in the rain so think we're going to leave it. If it brightens up later might go down at teatime but other than that we will be having a lot of inside time today!!!

MrsBigD · 16/06/2007 11:51

same here just 'banished' the kids into the bathtub for splashing session. dh is blaring out rock music on their demand as far as I can till atm it's twisted sister or Loerdi!

MrsBigD · 16/06/2007 15:57

drove through Marlow as dh wanted to have a look at whitehill (?) golf club. Marlow is manic! Also there's I think a wedding reception in that pub/restaurant past the bridge so some 'interesting' outfits . HIgginson Park looked like you couldn't move!

Hi everyone
I'm so glad to see this thread as I live in Maidenhead. I moved down 2years ago and still don't know many people as my job keeps me field based. I'm expecting our first baby and its very early days for me as I'm only 11wks at the moment. Do you all have children? If so, can I keep in touch and join you all very soon when I have one to bounce on my knee with you?

f1nut · 28/06/2007 10:17

hiya MrsBigD remeber seeing you on ealing threads, iv just moved up to reading from there, i have 3 aged 8, 4 and 2 xx

CountTo10 · 29/06/2007 19:11

Hi, sorry haven't been about but really struggling with tiredness at the mo so not been up to much!! The Donkey Derby sounds great so we'll be down there. Hopefully we can have some nice weather for a change.

Pink Elephant - I'm 9w wks pg so just a bit behind you!! Hope you're feeling ok.

PinkElephant · 04/07/2007 11:31

Hi everyone

Countto10 - Great news!!! I had my 12wks scan yesterday which was amazing . Still feeling headachey and very tired but nausea seems to be getting better. How are you feeling?

Are there any NCT groups around this area and when are you supposed to join?

CountTo10 · 04/07/2007 21:02

There is a really good NCT group that runs in Maidenhead & Marlow - 0870 444 8708 is the number for memebership but have a look at their website www.nct-maidenhead.org.uk They are good. I've never joined purely cause my friends have all got children of a similar age so i've never needed it but I know others who have joined and they've loved it so you should give them a ring. I'd book in as soon as you can otherwise there might not be many places left in the classes.

Mrs BigD - r u going to the donkey derby on sat? We are - probably get down there for 12ish.

CountTo10 · 06/07/2007 22:26

Weather is looking semi decent tomorrow so we'll defo be going down to wooburn. We'll probably pop down about 12-1ish so maybe see you down there MrsBigD - and anyone else who fancies it!!

PinkElephant · 13/07/2007 09:03

Countto10 - thanks for the info on NCT. I have emailed, phoned etc and no response. Got some oother numbers but still no response. Do you know if they are still in existence?

Hope you all had a lovely time at wooburn

CountTo10 · 13/07/2007 21:23

Oh definitely pink elephant - if you're around tomorrow, they are doing an nct second hand sale at Great marlow school in marlow at 2pm. It's there sale so if you can make it you could see if you can get info on joining

CountTo10 · 13/07/2007 21:25

Oh and if anyone's interested, we've got the Cherry Fayre on in Flackwell on Sunday from 12-5. It's up on the main green where the park is. There's bbq and a few rides and stalls and displays and stuff. It's really good so if anyone fancies it, we'll be up there!
