Anybody in Marlow, Bourne End, Wycombe, Maidenhead and/or surrounding areas who wants to meet up?

Me (38), dh (38) and dd (5.5) and ds (2.5) moved to Marlow in February this year And loving it. Still trying to build circle of friends. Though have to say seems so much easier than back in London.

Had built up a west london group but that's sort of a bit too far for me to join them on a regular basis.

Anybody out there in the area who would like to meet up for chat, movies etc.?

I know hopscotch, haven't been yet but we've got a party there soon. Sounds good for an afternoon - how are you fixed next week say Thurs or Fri pm? Anyone else?

MrsBigD · 01/06/2007 20:52

Depends on times you want to meet

Thursday would be with ds and have school run for dd to consider

Friday would be after school only with dd but have to pick up ds 1800 latest from nursery

everybody too busy sunbathing?

OP posts:
CountTo10 · 03/06/2007 22:10

We could always do early sat morning if that's easier?

MrsBigD · 04/06/2007 08:06

if I want to take both kids then yes ;) Otherwise Thursday a.m with ds

CountTo10 · 04/06/2007 08:42

Well lets do the sat morning then cause I can't do mornings in the week and then you're hopefully not juggling to many things!! How early do you want to meet up? I'm ok for anything after 9 - I doubt they open any earlier than that. Hmmmm how will we know each other - perhaps daisies in our hair? Dress the kids all in red??

MrsBigD · 04/06/2007 11:50

We're normally up by 5.30 'thanks' to ds being an early riser ;) However Hopscotch doesn't open till 10:00

As for how will we recognise eath other... can't dress kids all in red, don't have clothes like that. DD is bound to be in something pink .

I'm medium hight, shoulder length brown hear usually pulled back, glasses and medium built (pear shape . DD is very petite and DS is very big for his age and both of them have very amazing big blue eyes with long eye lashes ;)

We could always hover with intent outside the building?

Funny 5.30am rising seems to be a common theme with 2.5 year old boys round here at the moment!!! We're in the same boat - well how about 10am outside hopscotch? I'm med height with shoulder length hair - are you my secret twin?!!! I will have one ds with blonde hair trying to run madly round the car park!!!

MrsBigD · 04/06/2007 21:42

Cool, see you Saturday. I'm driving a Hawaiian blue (I think it's a purply blue) x-reg Rover 25 )

Hi, wish i could come with you, but my girls have dancing on sat mornings!
Haven't been sunbathing, just ill.
If i went sunbathing i'd block the sun out!!!

Maybe if you do another meet up sometime, i could join you with my 3 kids.

Hope you have fun!

MrsBigD · 06/06/2007 11:59

Hi fussymummy ... block out the sun? surely not! Because I'll beat you to it... Besides arms and face I'm so white that I'll blind everybody and they can't see the sun LOL

CountTo10 are we still on for tomorrow?

OP posts:
CountTo10 · 08/06/2007 21:07

Absolutely, looking forward to getting out!! See you tomorrow, stocked with lots of pants and snacks - my ultimate possessions at the moment!!

MrsBigD · 09/06/2007 14:17

To all of those who are worried about meeting strangers in RL ;) ... I've met with CountTo10 and her ds today and can vouch that she's perfectly nice, normal and sane (well as sane as you can be with a 2 year old)

btw who's going to Marlow Regatta ?

OP posts:
CountTo10 · 09/06/2007 21:36

And likewise for MrsBigD!!! Loved hopscotch as well.

We're not sure what we're doing for regatta yet. We were going to go down with a load of friends minus kids, but I think we'll just go down in the afternoon with ds now as noone seems to know what they're doing!!!

foxcub · 09/06/2007 21:46

Hi MrsD - just thought I'd pop in to say hello!

How's it going in Marlow ??

MrsBigD · 10/06/2007 14:02

Hi Foxie Marlow is nice and the kids are currently being entertained by the sprinkler. Oh, and feel free to come drop in in person with your horde of kids (and don't forget the DVD's

CountTo10 shall we hook up for an Regatta afternoon? Though I'm confused ... is t 16/17 or 23/24 June? Website says the latter but saw a sign about a Regatta fair for 16/17th - the mind's not working.

Hijack here

Brother moving to maidenhead - thought I would help sister in law.

Where is good to live? Interested in areas particularly with good connections north.

Also niece starts reception in September so interested in good primaries, particularly catholic schools.

CountTo10 · 10/06/2007 19:20

MrsBigD - that's cause there are 2 Marlow Regattas!!! The one actually held in Marlow the 16th/17th is the newer Town Regatta one that's been running for about 5 years now. They have a fair down at Higginson Park Thurs-Sun, the actual rowing is on the saturday and then they've got a music festival on the sunday. The official Marlow Regatta (that used to be held in Marlow and then moved 5 years ago) is at Dorney lake nr maidenhead and is the following weekend so that's where the confusion is!! We'll probably go down at about 2ish so what I'll do is once we;ve sorted what we're doing I'll drop you a line!!

Kaz33 - Maidenhead has very good train links and is right next to the M4 so easy access to M25, plus the M40 is only 10mins up the road so very central to everything. Recommended areas are Cox Green and the RayMillRoad area. Not sure about Catholic schools but have a look at this website www.maidenhead.net

MrsBigD · 10/06/2007 19:27

CountTo10... glad I'm not going insane . So which one are you going to? First or Second ;)

OP posts:
CountTo10 · 10/06/2007 19:37

Always the first!!! No trekking over to Dorney lake for me!!! The fair is really good - they've got a lot more rides for the little ones now so there should be plenty to keep them all occupied!

MrsBigD · 10/06/2007 19:41

oh dear I can hear my spare change purse moaning already

OP posts:
CountTo10 · 15/06/2007 11:19

MrsBigD - I'll be going down to the fair for about 2 tomorrow. Dp is playing cricket grrr so it'll just me and ds. I will park at mil's and walk in so if you're going down at a similar time, I can meet you just at the entrance of the park if you like?
