No probs pud - tell him to put the sub-titles on!

Oh pc sorry to hear about dd - another thing you have in common with my sis - her dd1 has had it loads of times. Is she coming back home or staying at your Mums? Poor poor thing.

Am I a bad mum? I've just given ds (8 months) red peppers and green peppers along with cherry tomatoes and he ate the plate as well? He seems to love peppers (just like dd2). Oh and he has no teeth yet!

Nannou - you mustn't worry about being a single mum - my dh goes away to France quite a lot, for a week at a time, and it's quite nice as you can watch what you want on tv, go to bed when you want and have a house that doesn't get messed up just after you cleaned up. I actually think it's easier when dh is away and I'm on my own with the 3 kids.

Talking of which - Foxie - how exciting! Am looking forward to hearing tales of this weekend.

Not sure how my weekends going to go as I've just got a call from the hospital and they want ds in for his blood test first thing tomorrow. I'm dreading it. We see the paed on Tuesday so they want to rush through his test for his high salt levels. I'm just hoping they don't admit him again next week.

Quokka - if ds is okay I can come over and give you a hand next week if you want. I don't mind packaging ebay items. Cleaning, whatever - I'll even take your ds' out for a few hours if you want. I'll be in touch next week once I know about ds either way.

Paddlechick666 · 03/05/2007 21:24

MrsR if you're a bad mother then my dd should be on the bloody at risk register!!!

Foxie, thanks for the tip on towels. Will do that. Bloody really hope the gparents don't get it either!

best she's with them this weekend coz Ma is clean crazy so dd won't get a chance to spread it. she'll prob be hosing her down with dettol etc LOL.

very exciting about your visitors, can't wait to hear all.

i now feel slightly sick after stuffing a mahoosive chinese down myself. bye-bye 10kg and OH! Hello Again! nothing like yo-yo weight loss/gain.....

now, does anyone think i will sleep well tonight? first night in my own bed without dd in the house!

Paddlechick666 · 03/05/2007 21:25

ps: no she's not coming back home. she's having a ball and the impetigo doesn't seem to be affecting her in herself.

bloody good job the neighbour spotted it as i'd not have a clue and wouldn't get her to dr's till tuesday being long weekend etc.

MrsRecycle · 03/05/2007 21:28

lol ma hosing her down!!

foxcub · 03/05/2007 21:39

MrsR - ate the plate? R U feeding him enough?

Hope DS's tests is OK tomorrow - will be thinking of him

paddle - DS1 had impetigo for weeks (three GP's didn't diagnose it) his lips were so cracked his pillow was covered with blood each morning. cos it was winter the Drs kept saying "oh its just chapped lips". It is only a bacterial skin infection so should make your DD feel ill or anything. Just a bit uncomfortable where the welts/blistery bits are. Clears up in a couple of days with the ABs.

foxcub · 03/05/2007 21:39

"should" should read "should not"!!

stepfordwife · 03/05/2007 21:44

evening all...

puds, yes, it was indeed me who (quite) fancied face of boe..
does that make me face of woe...?

i'm not ashamed of it.....much...

paddle - poor dd. ds1 had it when he was a toddler. he got it all over his scalp. makes me itch just thinking about it..

foxie - how many are coming to stay? got this wonderful image of aboriginal elders sprawled everywhere in your house.how interesting for the kids (oh and you)

sue - ta muchly for ordering me out of that naaaarsty shred thread.

mrsR - agree about being quite nice in some ways when dh goes away. but mine has just gone on a 2-and-a-half week trip which does seem ages, i must admit.

oh - and why-oh-why is it that things go wrong - ie: computer, TV, feckin oven, dishwasher, etc as soon as they've gone. god, good job i'm not on a shred thread, I'd be vilified along the lines of "how sad and pathetic you can't fix these things yourself and have to rely on a man. women died for the vote, you know...have you no self-respect...you're having a LARF....have you got issues...?" and so on.....

actually, of course, dh is equally clueless and we call in the profesionals...not bodie and doyle.

ROFL

foxcub · 03/05/2007 21:48

"putting plugs on steppy"

Eleusis · 03/05/2007 21:48

What is a shred thread?

stepfordwife · 03/05/2007 21:53

foxie - i don't want anyone to put plugs on me, thanks for asking..
ele - a shred thread is a phrase i made up to describe threads where the sole person is shredding each other to pieces

stepfordwife · 03/05/2007 21:54

er, sole purpose, even..

Eleusis · 03/05/2007 21:57

I like "shred thread".

MrsRecycle · 03/05/2007 21:58

I'm lucky in that his work-mate lives a few doors away so I can call on him (and his partner for babysitting when I've had not sleep for 4 days cos of baby!). Must find that shred thread - I agree - I lived on my own for 14 years before I met dh - he asks me how to do things. For example, our AP was laughing with my jigsawing the radiator cover so that it would fit properly. I wouldn't let dh anywhere near it!

MrsRecycle · 03/05/2007 21:59

Foxie, now you can do links, can you link the thread for us!!

foxcub · 03/05/2007 22:02

[trots off to seek out shreddies thread]

Eleusis · 03/05/2007 22:03

So where is this fecking shred thread????

stepfordwife · 03/05/2007 22:03

mrsR..yes most of my female friends are far more "handy" than men. sadly i'm not one of them. wouldn't want to break a nail...

ele - enjoy!

foxcub · 03/05/2007 22:05

shredthread

MrsRecycle · 03/05/2007 22:05

You expert Foxie!!

foxcub · 03/05/2007 22:07

the way I look at is that women run the household so it is our perogative to delegate the unpleasant jobs to men 0- like unblocking the loo, taking the rubbish out etc... makes sense innit?

foxcub · 03/05/2007 22:07

[takes a bow]

MrsRecycle · 03/05/2007 22:07

And did you know Katie used to live in Ruislip - she used to drink in my local pub!!! See Ruislip full of class!

MrsRecycle · 03/05/2007 22:08

Makes perfect sense Foxie - now if I could just get ds to do a poo when dh is home from work!!

Eleusis · 03/05/2007 22:08

I'm sorry. I can't get involved with a thread about Peter Andre. I have mor important things to do ...like go to bed so I can get up at the crack of dawn... big yawn.

Night night all
