Hi everyone. Right so far:
Me - any time
Toots and Turtle - any time?
Sooz - Mon or Fri day time ok, but evenings better
Florence - anytime Monday, or pm/eve
Geogteach - cannot make evenings but lunch is good

So.... what about a Monday lunchtime? 13th September? Would be lovely to meet any ds/dd's if it's ok with the mums?

Just a suggestion - all ideas welcome!

I am confused now. It does not take much. And it is not unusual. Beansprout if there is a little bit of Statto in you (ooh er) I hope you will bring this to the most democratic conclusion possible from all available info.

From my pov, I would not whoop at the prospect of towing a three year old into town at 37 odd weeks, and my days for not having to do that are Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday.

Evenings generally good.

beansprout · 22/07/2004 18:29

At the moment, evenings are the most popular, but that would exclude Geogteach, which we don;t want to do.

Just to cover all angles - what about weekends? Are they good/bad for anyone?

OP posts:
geogteach · 22/07/2004 19:29

Mon 13th fine for me (with DD)- weekends wouldn't be able to commit as don't know this far ahead which ones DH working - looks like just me awkward for evenings sorry

sooz31 · 23/07/2004 10:08

Monday 13th Sept sounds good to me... but happy to go with evening option too. Wonder if we should arrange two meece-ups with as many of us attending both, but ensuring all of us can at least come to one? Or is that overkill?

Bringing DS is absolutely fine but meece-up venue options will become limited - unless the management are happy to have their place trashed by a small boy and his large pregnant mother chasing after him!!

florenceuk · 23/07/2004 11:52

Where is everyone? Toots are you in South London - I am in Wimbledon, could drive to somewhere near here, or we could do it at my place! If it is Monday lunchtime I will be dragging small active toddler along. Other than that could do lunch-time meet-up later in the week in central London (Wed-Friday).

geogteach · 23/07/2004 14:05

I'm in darkest Surrey - (Redhill), South London driving venue could be possible, I don't mind driving somewhere with 2 kids which makes later in the week possible but might put some of you first timers off for life!

Bibiboo · 23/07/2004 14:06

What about those of us who live outside London? Like, in Wales? I think we scrap the silly London idea and you all drag your pg tummies across the country to see me in Cardiff

Wish I could come ladies, but I think the journey would kill me
I will be there in pg meese spirit though.

beansprout · 23/07/2004 16:27

I'm in NW London but happy to go South and meet as many dds and dss as we all can muster! Monday 13th would be good for me too

cerys · 26/07/2004 12:26

Bibiboo, forgot you were in Cardiff - I'm in Swansea! Don't feel up to even a 50 mile trip at the moment, let alone London, but will be thinking of you all.

Toots · 02/08/2004 10:14

Hello all. Back from a week's holiday, and can't seem to post on our main thread just now.

Florenceuk, I am in South London, Sydenham to be precise, I call that neighbours . Really kind of you to offer your gaff as a venue. Would that really be OK????

I'm happy with Monday 13th too and would prefer to be at someone's house rather than trying to keep dd entertained in a restaurant.

fisil · 02/08/2004 10:27

this all sounds like so much fun! and I'm in S London too!

Raise a glass of OJ for me ... remember that it was I who started the first ever Oct 2004 thread!

willow2 · 02/08/2004 22:25

Hi Fisil - how are you? If you fancy a jaunt to kew gardens over the holidays get in contact.

Toots · 03/08/2004 08:35

Fisil, think of you often, and will most definitely raise a glass to you

beansprout · 05/08/2004 16:49

Can we go with Flo's (kind) offer to meet at her place on Monday 13th. Lunchtime? I have to attend a class on "how not to drop the baby" or something in the evening

Toots · 06/08/2004 16:17

Florence, hope you're not regretting this! We would all bring mucho picknickio wouldn't we gals?

beansprout · 09/08/2004 15:43

Definitely - will bring whatever is needed, and would just be grateful for Flo's sofa! We would even clean up after ourselves, as we are well behaved meece wot have manners 'n' stuff

florenceuk · 09/08/2004 19:51

OK, just caught up with this as I came back from holiday yesterday. Sounds like we have date and venue! There is a little park quite close to me so if the weather is OK, we could do a picnic there or else squeeze into the living room. If people can confirm who is coming, etc and contact me I can email address etc on. Hope exposure to highly hyperactive toddler doesn't put anyone off!

Toots · 10/08/2004 08:34

Florence, you are most gracious. I will contact you soon.

geogteach · 10/08/2004 19:48

Thanks Florence will contact you too, luckily for all involved DS will be at nursery so it will be calmer DD I expose you all to!

beansprout · 11/08/2004 11:32

Florence - you are a star for allowing the meece massive to descend on your house. Promise to behave myself and am very excited about meeting y'all!!

Will contact you now.

OP posts:
sooz31 · 11/08/2004 12:27

This is so kind of you Florence... will contact you too,

err, how do I do this?

florenceuk · 11/08/2004 13:25

Sooz, click on the link at the top: "Contact another talker" and Mumsnet will forward your email to me.

beansprout · 11/08/2004 14:53

Florence - would it be helpful if we all brought some food and/or drink on the day, so you don't end up being the catering corps?

What do you think ladeez?

OP posts:
florenceuk · 11/08/2004 15:41

Yes a potluck lunch sounds good, I can provide drinks, paper plates etc. Maybe it should be "picnic-able" if we do decide to go to park?

beansprout · 13/08/2004 10:50

Park sounds good, but I did go for a picnic a few weeks ago and came away with horrible back ache from sitting on the floor for too long, so killjoy Bean may need to request a stroll as well as a graze. Sorry.

Also, dp suggested that we will make an awsome sight and we should take a photo of us all - are we up for that?!
