Are there any mums out there in this part of town who have also found it hard to get to know other mums in area and just want to meet a few others for a coffee now and again, a chat and a laugh or two?

Hi. I'm in West Acton. I work 4 days a week so have found it hard to meet other mums in the area as I'm only around in the evenings and weekends. I'd love to meet up sometime. How old are your kids? Mine are 3.5 and 1.5

jane313 · 11/07/2004 11:52

I'm in Ealing and have a one year old son.

yingers74 · 11/07/2004 16:59

Hello!

My dd is 16 months old, and am happy to meet up in the evenings or weekends too! Are you members of NCT or Ealing 135?

hello I'm around Ealing- 5 yr old dd and 2yr ds.
member of 135 - worth joining if you've moved in round here.

yingers74 · 12/07/2004 18:03

Am going away for a week or so in devon but when I get back will log on to this thread again and perhaps between us we can organise something!

Have a good week all

Have a lovely trip. Post when you get back and we'll hook up.

BadHair · 13/07/2004 03:03

Completely pointless post here, but I used to live in Acton and have spent many happy hours pushing ds1 round Acton park in his pram. Live far, far away now, but still miss trips to Lammas Park? (the one with the little petting zoo?) and Gunnersbury park to feed the ducks.
Sigh.

unicorn · 13/07/2004 03:26

badhair(why? can't be worse than mine!).. Walpole park I think u may mean.
so- where are you now?
maybe come back to our West London meetup..?????

BadHair · 13/07/2004 03:36

Walpole park, that's the one! Ds1 used to giggle at the bunnies.
Am in deepest darkest north shropshire now and would love to come to the meet up, but unlikely to be able to make it.

alison222 · 13/07/2004 12:58

I live in Hanwell. 135 member too. Am childminder so have 3 children itow during workig week

alison222 · 13/07/2004 12:59

oops meant "in tow"

bluebear · 14/07/2004 00:29

I'm in Ealing near Lamma Park- also a 135 member - but can't say i've met anyone through it yet! I've got a 3 year old boy and a baby girl, and I work 4 days a week so haven't got to know many mums. Evenings don't seem to exist anymore but weekends would be good.

unicorn · 14/07/2004 00:46

well there a few of us... what shall we do?
something over summer hols- on one of the days that bluebear/alison222/sofiaames.. has free??
oh just noticed yingers is away- let's sort something when you return?

SofiaAmes · 14/07/2004 02:15

Ok I propose something soon! How about Sat. july 17 or Sun july 18. Daytime, with kids. Maybe a playground, so kids can play and we can chat.

alison222 · 14/07/2004 14:04

Just posted on the othr thread. The 28th is fine for me - I only work termtime.

jane313 · 15/07/2004 20:49

I can't make that weekend as I work most weekends. I do some ealing 135 things, it would be weird if some of us have met

bluebear · 16/07/2004 20:17

My day off is Weds...can't do 17/18th as ds has just had surgery and is not to mix with other children for a while...but we'll be back in action soon.

karen99 · 17/07/2004 14:04

Hi Guys, just to butt in quickly, we're meeting near Hanwell/Greenford on this thread if you're interested!

oops, sorry, trigger happy with the mouse then!

jane313 · 18/07/2004 22:30

I've just suggested the 28th (wed) for a bunny park meet on the ealing/acton thread

bluebear · 18/07/2004 23:17

Might be able to do Bunny Park on 28th - it's only a short bus ride away (and ds loves buses , but I have already promised to meet another mum (a mumsnetter actually) that day so I'll see if she'll come along too!

yingers74 · 21/07/2004 22:54

Hello, I should be able to make although I have NO IDEA where that is and how to get there! I am also an ealing 135 member as well as NCT. And jane313 it would indeed be weird if we have met before.
Alternative suggestions for meet ups would be August 15th which I think is a Sunday at the london mela at gunnersbury park, there will be kiddie activities. Or Sat 31st july at walpole park, where there will be a pic n mix event, again plenty for kids. both events are 2 until 6 i think!
oh i had a lovely time in devon btw.

yingers74 · 22/07/2004 15:58

Hello and afternoon all,
having taken a look at map, i think the e3 near my house goes to hanwell station which is close by. which entrance should i aim for and will there be signs for the coffee bar/kids playground? I am rather good at getting lost! if you don't see me you can safely assume this is what has happened to me!!!!
Is anyone interested in the other dates i mentioned?
