So as not to hijack Mrs JC's very wonderful birth announcement featuring a now famous "nice cardigan" I am starting this meet up thread to weed out any lurkers.

Sign in, and then we will decide on a plan.

Am still hoping for 2pm, but it depends what the audiology people say - DH is still trying to contact them - will post here as soon as I know anything!

While I'm here - what should I pack, ie what's the weather like in the daytime? (don't think we'll be out at night much).

welliemum · 26/03/2007 03:25

Also, 20p, can I CAT you with contact details as we leave for chch tomorrow afternoon and probably won't be online while there?

(Not entirely sure how CAT system works in fact)

Today I am wearing thin pants and a T shirt inside and out. yesterday I was in shorts. According to the weather forecase tomorrow I will be in a sweater. Layers would be good!

You are from Wellington and should not be as affected by the wind.

I think you have to pay, but if you google (NZ version) "Making Music Fun" (" are essential or you get all sorts of weird stuff) and find a link to my Bravehost Website then you will be able to contact me diretly.

Thanks 20p (or should that be 20d really) - have found what I hope is your email address and have sent you a mail with some phone numbers!

We are packed. Lots of layers, although dd1 will wear a sundress even if it snows, and dd2 will be wearing bin bags as she seems to have grown out of all her clothes.

We Wellingtonians do not fear your paltry Cantabrian breezes.

The good news is that the 2pm appointment is cancelled, so I'm free to meet up at the museum at 1.30.

Hope to see you all tomorrow!

I hope it went okay. Ds of course came right about 4.30pm.

Hi all
Just back home - op was ok but I do feel a bit wobbly! Have a great big bandage on my head but not too sore.

It was great to meet up on Weds - so sorry to hear that ds wasn't well twentypence, but glad it didn't last.

dd1 enjoyed meeting everyone too, and was very taken with YM's ds and MrsJC's dd and hopes they are "coming back".....

I am awestruck at MrsJC's organisational powers - at a similar stage of new-baby-plus-toddler I could barely get off the sofa!

Next stage is the switch-on which is where we find out whether the implant has worked or not - that's be on April 30th, and I'll be in chch for 3 days, so if anyone's free for a coffee, I'm definitely keen!

MrsJohnCusack · 31/03/2007 05:14

well I've spent all day today pinned to the sofa with DS in a feeding frenzy! what a waste of a nice day

It was lovely to meet you both and I'm glad it went well for you welliemum. The next appointment will be quite something then! DD really enjoyed herself and has actually been rather well behaved since (after it took both me and yawningmonster quite a while to cram her back into her pushchair to leave the discovery room!)

am definitely around end of April and also I will CAT you yawningmonster

welliemum · 31/03/2007 23:38

Yes, the next appointment will be a bit of a nailbiter so it'll be good to have some distraction...

Your lovely dd, cute ds and his "nice cardigan" will do nicely!
