Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

OP posts:
Eleusis · 01/03/2007 17:41

Any progress foxie?

nopudstilleaster · 01/03/2007 17:41

Hi all, bad mummy alert - ds hasn't had a nap all day and is generally screaming now so have plonked him in front of the tv with a little gingerbread biscuit - but hey, at least he's quiet right

stepfordwife · 01/03/2007 17:42

hi foxie..now where's my remote?! how are the contractions going/not going?

ele...having sex on tap just makes you fall in the sink. sorry...

nopudstilleaster · 01/03/2007 17:42

how are you doing foxie?

Ele - are your dcs feeling any better?

foxabout2pop · 01/03/2007 17:48

Is that a name change Puds?

I have been having lower back ache and mini contractions all day when I move around, but as soon as I rest they stop

...have been eating pineapples to no avail.

Someone suggested earlier I try eating some onion bajis, dipped in semen sauce

nopudstilleaster · 01/03/2007 17:51

yep it is, thought I would change it to reflect my Lent fast!!

mmm, the onion bajhis sound delicious, not sure about the sauce

foxabout2pop · 01/03/2007 17:59

uh oh - I actually forgot to give anything up. DS has been very good. The day before Ash Wednesday he said "Mummy, can I have some chocolate as it'll be my last chocolate until Easter as I'm giving it up for lent"

Even better as I don't have to share mine with him now

Stepford, how did it go at the doctor's earlier?

Can anyone do our links for Stepford so she can see what an exciting social life we lead?

Ele - how are your DC's now - have the pox spots dropped off yet?

foxabout2pop · 01/03/2007 18:15

OK - have told my sister to go straight home from work as my contractions have left me now.

If it kicks off tonight we will have to taxi her over from Croydon.

SFX - would you be able to leave your mobile on tonight too, closeby to you?

Was there anyone else on night duty (sorry, have lost the plot)?

sfxmum · 01/03/2007 18:20

yes foxie, will do, dh not home yet but i expect he will be in before 9 and i don't think i will go to bed before midnight anyway, do try not to stress too much

was stepford i met earlier?

suejonez · 01/03/2007 18:30

Isn't Paddle on nights tonight as her mum is up isn;t she?

And haven't you given up sleep for Lent?!

stepfordwife · 01/03/2007 18:34

foxie - doc said no chicken pox, no throat infection, so guess what: 'viral.' they always say that, don't they?

sfx - yes that was me you met (briefly) earlier - hello!

foxabout2pop · 01/03/2007 18:44

Stepford - well at least saw the proper doctor (i.e. the grown up one, not the 12 year old one) so maybe she's right. I find that chest infections sometimes turn bacterial if they don't shift of their own accord. Do you think he might have chicken pox then?

Sue - correctomundo about the sleep LOL! I actually got 8 hours last night and then 30 minutes kip this arvo today!!!

SFX - how was Kew Gardens? I was very of you strolling into the sunshine this morning.

nopudstilleaster · 01/03/2007 19:06

Foxie, just so you know, dh is working late tonight & tomorrow so don't think I can do babysitting at night duties - if you need me during the day however I'm around & available.

stepfordwife · 01/03/2007 19:11

foxie..yes always reassuring to see a grown-up! no, she reeled off "not chicken pox, not...." (as doing the rounds). nah, would have checked with you first to make sure you're immune (most women are, aren't they?) before i came round if i thought he had c.pox. did get a bit confusing when he told doc he had "flu" in his throat.."he means "phlegm" i interpreted. and i'm not even a doctor! (nor is the 12-year-old, mind you...)

not sure if this mumsnet thing is a good idea, though. can see it could be highly addictive when i'm "working from home."

MrsRecycle · 01/03/2007 19:14

foxie - sorry to hear nothing has happened. I'm available all day tomorrow if needed.

Sue - will email you - definitely a good idea!

MrsRecycle · 01/03/2007 19:15

puds - sorry about ds - sometimes they just need something to distract them - at 6 months ds loves watching tv to distract him.

sfxmum · 01/03/2007 19:22

foxie - have told dh he must come home because you are having contractions

kew was great if a tad windy well spent ages in a mostly quiet C&C and ended up explaining about fossils to a school group, the little blighters were jumping all over the LO so i told them they had to quietly hunt for treasure and be very gentle, it worked for about 10min.

Paddlechick666 · 01/03/2007 20:03

evening all.

foxie, ma just left so no night duty for me i'm afraid.

wfh tomorrow tho.......

sfx, good skills! ma is rather nosy lol. god forbid she discovers MN and stalks me!

dd not asleep till 7:45 fgs! she better sleep thru tonight coz i am exhausted.

stepford, HI!

hope all the LOs are well, getting better, not vomiting and going to bed early!

foxabout2pop · 01/03/2007 20:27

Stepford - I wasn't worried about the pox!!

I've been around it all week at the school and am immune as I had it when about 6. I was wondering whether your DS had had it though?

SFX - thanks

Paddle - thanks re. tomorrow. As long as we get the skids off to school they're cared for until 3pm anyway. If it happens tonight I'll call sfx./my sister and she will be here tomorrow.

Skids are very exited about Daddy taking them to school tomorrow.

Knowing you are all around has given me a lovely warm feeling.

Or may be its the wine

quokka · 01/03/2007 20:36

foxy I had a very large glass of wine when I went into labour. When I threw up during labour the midwife didn't look impressed . Everything will be fine for you I'm sure.

Watford was an adventure got lost in the ring rd but finally got there in the end. No mobile still - so angry with Vodafone. Will ring them up tomorrow and blast them again! and see what else I can get for free.

Paddlechick666 · 01/03/2007 20:39

excellent! wish i'd thought of having a glass of wine when i went into labour!

watford's ringroad/one-way system is a bit challenging eh quokka......

foxabout2pop · 01/03/2007 20:44

Quokka - go for it girl re vodaphone!!!

Paddle, how R U?

My plan is to have a good sleep tonight, pop the children to school, then pop Monti out!

stepfordwife · 01/03/2007 20:53

foxie..just didn't want you to think i was being irresponsible..yes, ds has had pox, but other ds and dd haven't. would be happy for them to get it, though, as better when they're younger...
enjoy the vino! my early labour with ds no1 was spent drinking red wine and eating pasta (for energy of course)in a restaurant..we only left when i started rocking back and forth on my chair! have a good night's sleep.
paddle - hi ya back!

suejonez · 01/03/2007 22:23

I am around all day tomorrow if anyone wants to meet for coffee or C&C/Lollipop. My last proper day as a SAHM

trying2bgood · 01/03/2007 22:32

fox - it is so exciting! All this talk makes me want to have another one!

I have had an interesting 48 hours, with water sprouting out all over the place due a blockage. Luckily it has all been sorted out now but boy do these things cause you stress!
