Hi, I am a mum of two boys (ages 3 and 18 months) and we are due to move to North Leeds over the next couple of weeks (due to DH new job). I would like to meet people and want my boys to interact with other kids. I don't know anyone there and I am shy, so not sure where to start. Can anyone help?

Hi calil, hope your impending move is going well!

There are quite a few Leeds peeps - there's a meet up being organised for the 23rd Feb, which may be a bit soon for you, but I'm sure there will be others.
If you have transport and can get over Harrogate way, there are a fair few mumsnetters here, too.

burnsy555 · 12/02/2007 16:38

Some of the Leeds girls met up today and like Betty said there's a meet up on the 23rd. I'm hoping it becomes a regular thing.
There's another thread on here 'Leeds 23rd' you might like to look at (no idea how to create a link!)

manuka · 15/02/2007 19:17

Hello! I met up with a few folk on Monday and we're hoping to meet again in North Leeds regularly. May be easier for you as not as scary as big meet up on 23rd! Will post on here to let you know. When are you moving? I'm in Moortown are you anywhere near??

calil · 16/02/2007 21:51

Hi Manuka,

Im not quite sure but Its near Moortown corner I think (don't know my way around yet). Im due to move over the weekend. Having read the threads for the meet up on the 23rd - Im really nervous - it seems like a big group and im not sure if I should go?

[email protected]

I am free most times. Think we are doing gingerbread on 26th. Text me Manuka!!

tribpot · 17/02/2007 13:03

calil, definitely go along! (Not that I shall be there due to my appalling planning) - all are very welcome.

manuka · 17/02/2007 13:12

I'm just down the road from Moortown Corner! Come to Gingerbread cottage on 26th and sample some delicious homemade cake!! Its a small play centre, very nice and cosy! And of course lovely cake. Not that I'm obsessed with cake of course. Hope your move is as smooth as possible. I HATE moving! We moved a week after I had the caesarian from hell! Never again!!!

auntymandy · 17/02/2007 23:55

At least moving after your section would mean you just had to surpervise!!!

Come to big meet up...says me that might now not be able to make it!!!

Are you def going Manuka?

Still waiting for time for gingerbread. Its quiete in an afternoon!!!

milkymill · 18/02/2007 08:57

Hello calil. I recently moved just north of Leeds and don't know anyone yet either. I'm going to the meet up on 23rd, you should def come along!

manuka · 18/02/2007 15:48

I cant do the coolcats thing cos Tali girl has sing and sign on Friday mornings but will do the Gingerbread cottage! Any time from 2 is good for me cos she tends to sleep from 12ish til 2ish if thats anygood for you? Might bring a friend who was impressed by your number of progeny!!! Milkymil thats 26th if you're free for that meet up?? are you far from Leeds?

milkymill · 18/02/2007 16:38

Hi Manuka, i should be free on 26th but not sure where Gingerbread cottage is. I'm near Ilkley, i don't know Leeds particuarly well yet. Who's going?

tribpot · 18/02/2007 17:34

manuka, where are you doing Sing and Sign? I've done two 'seasons' with ds, managed about 3 classes each time, sigh.

tribpot · 18/02/2007 17:36

milkymil, Gingerbread Cottage is here - not too bad to get to from Ilkley by car, by bus you've got the X84 running down the A660 to the ring road.

Hi ladies,

Sorry to gatecrash but I have just moved back to Leeds (last week) after being in London for 7 years and have left all my nct friends behind....sniff.

I am living in Roundhay and have an 11 month old son and would love the opportunity to meet some new faces - can I be cheeky and join you when you get together?

tribpot · 19/02/2007 19:21

ladypp, please come along! We have another MNer in Roundhay (auntymandy is D coming along as well on Friday?)

gingermonkey · 19/02/2007 19:56

If I can get DH to pick DD up from school can I come on 26th too, please?

manuka · 19/02/2007 20:17

What a busy thread! Marvellous!
I do sing and sign at Chapel Allerton St.Mathew's. DD keeps missing them through various lurgies too!! Bloody waste of money but she enjoys it when she's there.
Milkymil hope you can make the gingerbread meet!Ilkley is a lovely place to live! We ought to organise a picnic walk up there in Summer. and Tribpot will you be coming? I've met your cutie ds!
Ladypp all gatecrashers welcome! Nct buddies are a life saver aren't they? I love mine!! luckily mumsnet buddies are just as good!
Gingermonkey am looking forward to meeting you! You gave me advice re coil don't know if you remember?! (had the longest period in the world!)

gingermonkey · 19/02/2007 20:47

I do remember! I knew your name rang a bell. How are you coping with it now? I really hope DH can pick DD up from school then I can come to gingerbread (and eat cake!!! - I'm a sucker for a cake!) I keep meaning to get the snot germ remedy you recommended, I need to get some more vitamins from a health food place on Eastgate so I will get it when I go in there (the vitamins are great, they make my wee bright green!!! - don't know if that's a good thing but I like it )

manuka · 20/02/2007 10:43

I used to take a b vitamin that made my wee go bright yellow!! Quite disturbing really. Hope you can come to the cake festival! I love homemade cake its so much nicer than the plastic shop ones!

auntymandy · 20/02/2007 14:11

hi all!
I am crying off both meets now!!
Got my mum staying 'till Saturday so Ikea shopping for her new house on Friday!
Monday I have finaly got my booking in appointment at the hospital...not bad to say I will be 22 weeks by then!!
Might manage the afternoon...What is every one thinking> am or pm?

manuka · 20/02/2007 14:27

On Monday could we meet at half 2?? When's your appointment? I hate hospitals!
How's half 2 for everyone else regarding gingerbread cottage Monday??????
Has calil moved yet??!!!

auntymandy · 20/02/2007 14:29

half 2 no good to me as I need to start the school run about 2.45!!!!
Hospital is 10.30

milkymill · 20/02/2007 16:13

I'm pretty flexible with regards to time, although the earlier the better as dd gets loopier and loopier as the day goes on now she's given up day naps.
