Wow! We filled a thread!

Hope you all find this new one!

Our evening was great, had a lovely time. kids were all very well behaved. dd sleeping in our bedroom is a nightmare tho - she's sooo noisy!

we need a 3rd bedroom

we're off for Sunday lunch at The Botanist later YUM!

2cute, we're scheduled to have skids that weekend but not confirmed yet. if we do, not sure if i could come and don't want to invite 2 extra kids and dh as that'd be rather cheeky! if we don't then we'll be there

it's far too early for a Sunday!

so sorry paddle - not what you need, is it?

If its any consolation D always wants to go to my mum and shuns me if we are out together. I think its the novelty of someone hwo is endlessly lovely to them (and feeds them coffee and sugar).

She doesn't really prefer your mother.

xoxo · 16/02/2007 19:37

sorry quokka - just re-read earlier thread. that must be horrible

quokka · 16/02/2007 19:38

pc its time to get the boot out

ComeOVeneer · 16/02/2007 19:40

My grandmother used to give us sugar cubes soaked in liquer at the end of meals when the adults had a brandy or such like , but then she was french .

Sorry to hear the sad news Quokka, but it is not anything you did or didn't do. Also, bad luck 2Cute, but fingers crossed it happens soon for you.

Paddlechick666 · 16/02/2007 19:42

nope not what i need. sent me right over the edge that one. spent most of day in office trying not to burst into tears. complete over-reaction on my part because clearly it would never happen but just the thought he might try to take her from me.

eventually he did apologise for upsetting me and admitted it was completely off the top of his head.

quokka, you just can't get inside some people's heads. when dh is around and other people see him they always think he's right as rain. he's very good at putting on a "front" and behaving "normally". and also, you can't know the details of what happened. maybe it was a sudden decision rather than one born of long term depression.

oxo, babysitting circle - definately interested. i have a date of Sat 10th March that I need a sitter. was also going to ask your temp nanny for 6th March so i could crash dh's next appt but it's been brought forward and i don't think i should attend this one.......

would love to be interested in your holiday home in the sun too but i fear that'd be too optimistic right now.

2cute, hope you've listened to Oxo's advice re: straws...........

Oh, Paddle, I;m sorry but I hate him on your behalf. And On your DD's behalf.

Wish you were here geting drunk with me.

Oxo, the nappy in the face made me laugh very hard.

Quokka, oh that is very heart breaking. But it is true that it is not your fault. And anything you could have said probably woul not have changed history. But it is that: history. Don't beat yourself up. He killed himself. And it is most certainly not your fault.

quokka · 16/02/2007 19:59

yeah I know it not my fault, just really .

suejonez · 16/02/2007 20:09

I have just saved £3 per month on my aol account and got a free wireless router thrown in thanks to mumsnet

eleusis · 16/02/2007 20:13

Ok, that was a radical subject change.

suejonez · 16/02/2007 20:13

I'm so shallow

suejonez · 16/02/2007 20:13

but am very excited about wireless - I'm so sad - is this what life has become!

ComeOVeneer · 16/02/2007 20:15

Right children in bed, just had a shower, now I need to cok myself something. I can never be bothered to cook for myself when dh is away, and for some stupid reason I didn't think to eat with the children tonight. Reaaly want a glass of wine, but can't until I have eaten or it will go right to my head (not good when in chare of your kids ).

eleusis · 16/02/2007 20:22

Aw, go on COV I'm sitting here on beer number two pondering whether I can be arsed to coo dinner or maybe I should just devour this big chunk of yummy Red Leicester.

Sue, you are not shallow, just that the new topic needed a bit of lead in.

If my three year old doesn't stop chatting in bed to God knows who, I'm going to bring her a sugar and alcohol laced dummy. This would be sure to puzzle her since neither of then has a dummy. It has long since been put to rest.

Paddlechick666 · 16/02/2007 20:24

aha! a very radical subject change lol

good ole mumsnet, go broadband SJ!

i am merrily getting arsed in the care of my child - also wondering what to eat, or to even bothering eating actually!

i had the best avacado wrap thing from Pret today tho. it was seriously yummy with pine nuts and everything.

oops very nearly typed pine needles there - i may have to leave soon otherwise make big fool of self!

ComeOVeneer · 16/02/2007 20:24

Trouble is I skipped lunch as I was busy and didn't feel like eating so no supper+wine=BAD MUMMY. Plus we have to out of the house by 9am to get dh and go to this birthday party. Right am off to find the quickestthing I can cook, back in a mo.

pudding77 · 16/02/2007 20:25

CoV - I'm having a glass of wine with a couple of chocs & in charge of ds (but dh will be back shortly so not as bad as it sounds!)

Paddle - I don't know what to say

Am definitely up for babysitting circle!

pudding77 · 16/02/2007 20:26

I'm just far too slow tonight

suejonez · 16/02/2007 20:29

I am broadbanded paddle - but discovered this evening (courtesy of mumsnet) that I am paying £17.99 for a service they are advertising for £14.99 with a free wireless router. It would mean I could MN whilst D plays with the brillo pads on the kitchen floor (his favortie thing at the moment) - fab.

Just have a live chat with them and they have just changed me over.

eleusis · 16/02/2007 20:31

Sue, we have the latest and greatest (which means fastest) package that NTL offer. We've been wireless since DD went mobile a couple of years ago. Couldn't imagine life without it now.

suejonez · 16/02/2007 20:34

I'm sure I could get a better deal form someone else but

1 - have been on aol for years and years and everyone knows my email address
2 - they have been damn reliable in all that time
3 - am too lazy to move

suejonez · 16/02/2007 20:35

am so excited about woreless though

ComeOVeneer · 16/02/2007 20:49

We have BT wireless and it is tempremental. We can pick upother peoples' connection better than our own (not that I do).

eleusis · 16/02/2007 20:58

Oh, what fun, cov. Too bad you don't live next to anyone famous... or do you?
