Hello

This is my first time on Mumsnet and we have recently moved to the area from Surrey where I left behind a great bunch of mum friends whom I miss greatly and my DD 16 months misses her baby chums! So we would like to find some more lovely mums and babies to hang out with! We enjoy all the usual activities and I like doing things without the babies too! Hope to hear from you soon.xx

Hi rosesmum. I live on the border of Bexleyheath but like BK don't have a baby now. my youngest is 4. Check out the toddler groups and swimming groups at Crook Log sports centre.

Bananaknickers · 04/01/2007 22:14

My yongest is four too Helen. I feel lost now not having children to meet people with lol

blondehelen · 04/01/2007 22:16

i am a bit all at sea cos my ds started school yesterday! is your youngest at school yet?

Kbear · 04/01/2007 22:17

Hello and welcome to MN. My two are at school now so I can't do the baby groups anymore (sob!) but there is lots on around here. Start at the library (big one in Bexleyheath, smaller ones at Bostall and Belvedere) for singing and toddler story sessions. Also swimming lessons might introduce you to other mums - new pools at Bexleyheath and Erith.

Let me know if you need any other local info!

Blondehelen - big day! My DS started in September and has settled in really well. Hope he loves it!

Bananaknickers · 04/01/2007 22:21

my dd started full time in November. I am lost without them now. Its funny but most of my social time was with the children and now its gone.Do you know what i mean?

blondehelen · 04/01/2007 22:21

He's not convinced at the mo. Tears this morning

Bananaknickers · 04/01/2007 22:22

Where are you two?

Kbear · 04/01/2007 22:23

It's a bit overwhelming to start with I suppose (for us and them!) but before he knows it he'll be whizzing round the playground with his new mates. It's the end of an era though eh?

blondehelen · 04/01/2007 22:24

i work practically full time so not so much. Finding more heartwrenching than my dd as he is more shy than she is. Big change in my childcare costs though!

Bananaknickers · 04/01/2007 22:25

I need to find a job to fit school hours now

Kbear · 04/01/2007 22:26

I am part-time so after missing him dreadfully in the beginning I cheekily got a bit of a life back for me me me. I'm getting fit, cycling and swimming and also took up salsa. Ooh, and the odd trip to Bluey!

Kbear · 04/01/2007 22:27

blondehelen · 04/01/2007 22:28

Bananaknickers · 04/01/2007 22:29

blondehelen · 04/01/2007 22:31

We do term time contracts where I work but depends if you want to work at a hospital!

Kbear · 04/01/2007 22:31

There's an office manager job (term-time) at my DS's school. Look on bexley website for details. Fancy managing something different?

Bananaknickers · 04/01/2007 22:33

Where is Pantiles? I am in Gravesend. What sort of hospital work is it.I had no idea that you could get a job in term times.I was thinking this morning that I can't be the only one in this situation

blondehelen · 04/01/2007 22:36

I am a ward manager so I have vacancies has health care assistants. Not sure what sort of clerical jobs are around. Will find link to vacancies if I can. Pantiles is in bexleyheath.

Bananaknickers · 04/01/2007 22:36

Bananaknickers · 04/01/2007 22:37
