CITY Christmas lunch

..okay, I know that we've only just had a (very enjoyable) lunch but I thought that it might be good to plan ahead and, if we can find space, arrange a City MNers' Christmas lunch.
What does everyone think? I know that there are lots of Christmas events in the City but, speaking from my own experience, it does seem as if we busy mums tend to miss out. So, I would be happy to organise, or help organise, a lunch if this suggestion meets with general approval.

Sounds good... I am not planning on any holiday between now and Christmas so can do any day at all!!

Novembergirl · 27/10/2006 14:40

Hi Jura and Mumpbump...good to know that you are intested in a festive lunch! Once we have agreed a date, I expect that we will be joined by more of the City Mners. So, to get the ball rolling, I suggest that we opt for a Monday in late November or December (but not Monday 11th Dec, please, as I am away). Any votes?

Can't do Monday 4th December alas but think this is a super idea NG, thanks for organising. Gives jura and me a new outlet for not working!
We'll need to bump as quite a few of us have had extra time off for half-term this week and will be back in the fray next week.

Novembergirl · 31/10/2006 16:24

...bump

Diary is empty for December lunches thus far...

Novembergirl · 01/11/2006 11:59

How about holding our Christmas lunch on Monday 18th December at 12.30 (I think that suits everyone who has expressed a preference and the proximity to Christmas should help the festive spirit (but not spirits of course ...well not at lunchtime)?

Now all I need is a few suggestions re the venue (we should identify a number of alternatives, as bookings could be difficult)?

Once I have found a venue that can still squeeze in a largish party, I will post another thread with the details in the heading and see who else would like to join us.

Erm, would have to bring children if on 18th. But if that date suits everyone else do please go ahead NG

I can do 18th December! Suggestions for venue - depending on numbers, Appenino on Devonshire Row or Sweet Basil in Spitalfields??

galaxy · 01/11/2006 20:50

Can I come? If I don't have any meetings outside of London, I can work from Aldgate on that day. Haven't been to a meet up for around 2 years

Novembergirl · 06/11/2006 13:44

Sorry for silence: having Internet problems (again)!

Galaxy, you are very welcome to join us: I look forward to meeting you.

Marina, I'm sure little ones wouldn't be a problem for anyone but, as you might prefer to concentrate on one conversation as opposed to two, I would be happy to explore Monday 27th November as an alternative date.

So, what does everyone think: 18th Dec (+ children) or 27th Nov?

Not getting on here much lately. Can someone email me to carol120401 at yahoo dot co dot uk when the date has been decided incase I miss it like I did the last one!

Mumpbump · 10/11/2006 16:12

I can do either date, but wonder whether it might be a bit short notice for 27th November...

In the interests of getting something pencilled in people's diaries, can I suggest we go with 18 December. I have had a look back at this thread and, as far as I can work out, those who can make it are as follows:

Novembergirl
Jura
Marina + children
12yeargap
Galaxy
Myself

Is this still right?

Mumpbump · 17/11/2006 12:09

Sorry!! AND Dinosaur!

Mumpbump · 17/11/2006 16:37

Bump before I leave the office...
