Christmas Meet Up for all the Gin Hags (and Wine Witches and Vodka Vixens)

Righto, we're at that time of the year again where a Christmas Piss Up in London Town is needed. I propose a date a few weeks before so as many as possible can join in - how about Saturday 23rd November.

This has only been mooted last night, so I've not even got a venue as yet, but I have some ideas. I will, of course and usual, try to make it an easily get-to-able-near-a-traveldodgy place so that those that come into London can take advantage of cheapy rooms in advance.

So...please can y'all start putting names down so I have an idea of numbers initially and I'll get cracking with a venue in the next week or so. Further down the line I'll put the usual FB Group together (for those who are both on FB and happy to join) - I won't be posting the venue on MN as I'd prefer the hairy of hand not to know. Those not on FB I'll chat via PM near the time.

Juno I dunno about the link, it could be because they made the group Private or Secret or something. PM Heps or Dances with your FB name and they'll add you. I think that's how it works. I just checked and the group is definitely there and working!

I typed a whole post and lost it. Maryz you could come to us but I'm not sure how I'd explain you to DH - and I don't think you're naughty enough to pretend to be a mum from school or one of the other cooks from the Night Shelter. Or are you. He might of course be away that weekend - [hope emoticon - that would give me more naughty sobering up time].

On the other hand, we could start a Maryz collection in the teenage threads and put you up at the Ritz for the night.

Maryz on the premise that everyone in Ireland is either related to or knows everyone else I probably know you already. Six degrees and all that. Three very good friends are Irish & several Irish spouses, acquaintances, colleagues scattered about.

Venue will definitely be in Southwark/London Bridge. I have found two crackers and a third for good measure - Pistey and I will do our selfless tour tasting gin on behalf of the rabble.

Here's the last list I updated yesterday - there's definitely some missing, but it's early and my eyes are not in focus yet.

Shit. Just found return train tickets for a bargainous £38.50 then checked the school diary and it is the sodding Christmas Fair on the 30th.

I was getting excited and nervous in equal measure but will have to bow out.

Perhaps next year.........

Exit - that is a very poor excuse! Surely you should be using the meet-up as your reason for missing the Christmas Fair?!

I know, but I am secretary of the PA and I do bugger all else. I left work and my new laptop wont let me send group emails so I can't even send out the minutes.

Then I miss loads of meetings due to Pony Club activities, breaking my jaw etc so the Christmas Fair is the only thing I do. Last year I melted a plastic pot in a microwave and almost caused an evacuation of the school, so I have a lot of grovelling to do.

Miserable up North today isn't it!
