Righto, we're at that time of the year again where a Christmas Piss Up in London Town is needed. I propose a date a few weeks before so as many as possible can join in - how about Saturday 23rd November.

This has only been mooted last night, so I've not even got a venue as yet, but I have some ideas. I will, of course and usual, try to make it an easily get-to-able-near-a-traveldodgy place so that those that come into London can take advantage of cheapy rooms in advance.

So...please can y'all start putting names down so I have an idea of numbers initially and I'll get cracking with a venue in the next week or so. Further down the line I'll put the usual FB Group together (for those who are both on FB and happy to join) - I won't be posting the venue on MN as I'd prefer the hairy of hand not to know. Those not on FB I'll chat via PM near the time.

Pistey - I reckon we should do the same sort of area as last September - it's easy to get to from everywhere and there's the dodgy where you all stayed last time. I've got two places in mind - both close to where we were. I'll talk with you mañana and we can go on a recce.

Good morning afternoon all. Thank you whoever put me in the FB group Smile I can't Travel Dodge Sad Southwark is only like 6 stops from me on the Jubilee line... kind of hard to justify to DH and the expense...

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/09/2013 12:43

Oh God no costumes! I have a hard enough time with all the special dress up days the DDs have to do. Languages Day, Poetry Day, World Book Day, Victorian Day, aarghh Besides I still have my badge somewhere. I luffs my badge.

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 29/09/2013 12:45

'Twas I dear Hearts. Will be great to see you again. Grin

Hearts, you wrote the badges with your lovely handwriting. I've still got mine in my handbag - even though I can't make the 30th!

AnnieLobeseder · 29/09/2013 15:52

Are we talking the Kings Cross area again? Cos there are 3 (if not 4) Travelodgies and we don't all want to end up in a different one. I think I've stayed in three of them now. Which one was it last year? I'm thinking London Bridge. Which isn't King's Cross. Confused.

Anyway, we need to discuss this in secret on the FB group.

Buffy - we have tried to do group bookings before bit it has always been very much like herding cats so we've never actually managed it.

BellaVita · 29/09/2013 16:17

Agree Annie.

Wonders if I could manage to print off badge labels. Knows Mrs DV and I would want pink ones.

NOT dressing up - cannot lose two stone by 30th November Wink

DancesWithWoolEnPointe · 29/09/2013 18:22

I am so afear of the weight conversation. At my first meetup in 2011 I had just lost 4 stone and was the thinnest I have ever been as an adult. Last year at the Sept meet up I had started to put weight back on, and was maybe a stone and a half heavier. Now I am pretty much back to full fat. I'm cuddly okay

marriedinwhiteisback · 29/09/2013 18:25

Join the club Dances.

Bimblepops · 29/09/2013 19:22

I'm pretending to myself that it's a thyroid condition, not that I'm a greedy gannet who loves wine a bit too much. I'm cuddly too!

ConfusedPixie · 29/09/2013 21:25

Could I sidle in and come along this year? I am feeling brave Grin

Married. You little liar. You are not 2 stone overweight.

I, on the other hand, am. A lot more than 2 stone too Grin

I blame the fags e.g. the lack thereof. Too many sweeties but then again Tuesday will be 4 months since I quit Smile

Maryz I'm sure you're not fat either.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/09/2013 21:48

Confusedpixie yes please come! More the merrier and all that.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/09/2013 21:50

Dances I lost almost 3 stone since last September then decided to give up the cancer sticks. Not a good idea, weight wise....

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/09/2013 21:52

Yes but Fru you provided the raw materials Grin what do you mean you can't come to this one?

AnnieL I adore that expression, herding cats. DH says it about me & the DDs on a fairly regular basis Grin

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/09/2013 22:00

Buffy good thing you were joking too. I was going to have to kill someone.

Although I must admit I do dress up for Halloween myself at work. It's quite hilarious. I work in a school and I'm normally fairly conservatively put together (hair up, tasteful jewellery and all that sort of rot). For Halloween I do full face-paints à la Bride of Frankenstein, put cotton wool cobwebs in my hair and wear all sorts of long black rags.

The little 3, 4 and 5 year olds have no clue who I am and it scares them senseless in that can't-stop-giggling-and-pretending-to-scream kind of way. Thankfully none of them has been really properly scared though Grin
