I've forgotten LaG's patent pending acronym Wink but there's a really sad thread in chat just now about a woman who had a daughter after a son.

On another note, OV test all fine (as I was sure it would be) so will have to traipse off to the GP's again next week to see what the next stage is. Thankfully I have another mystery health issue I need to see the GP about or my boss/team would be very puzzled about all my doctor's appointments!

LaGuerta · 05/10/2012 22:05

SMOGOB

but the S stands for Smug which might not be quite right

PiratesKnittingTreasure · 06/10/2012 08:49

No, she's not smug she's a cow Angry.

Had to post on the thread, although shouldn't get involved really. I'm so sick of it though - now have to listen to the anti-boy crap at the school gates and it's driving me mental. Luckily two of the mums I've made good friends with have all boy families too so I don't get it from them.

Gig, hope you had a fab fab birthday - are you nursing a sore head? Grin

Hope you got DS' bedroom decorated Secret and that your afternoon wasn't too bad LG!

I had a lovely birthday (meal out with dh and dsis plus bf at my favourite restaurant. - after dh had spent all day saying we were all off to a school disco theme night and I had to wear a PVC uniformWink). Was moderate on wine if not food- but bit fuzzy as late night then early start.

pirate mini gig is crawling, pulling herself up and trying to break out of her cot- I fear she has seen your ds2 as role model.

lag glad you got your busy afternoon done. What are your weekend plans and have you done any more recipes from Paul Hollywood book? I must admit it is not my most used.

deb waves- how is it going? How is au pair settled and how are boys all doing esp Ethan?

secret (and pirate) I saw that thread - I do find gender ones massively annoying for all reasons that pirate says about boys but I am sorry but if you have ever mc or lost a child when pregnant, all this "it's a genuine depression/ psychological issue" is just fucking bullshit. It's not it is about the parents issues. And there ends today's rant Wink

I have strictly on record- did anyone see it and was it good?

Gigondas · 06/10/2012 15:03

Oh and well done on decoration secret (and I am pleased that you have done test although its a bit Hmm when doesn't say much). Will there be fb photos ESP of the curtains?

PiratesKnittingTreasure · 06/10/2012 15:22

Secret, sorry completely missed that you had had your first test results back - good that you had the all clear on that one, hope you don't have to wait too long for next test. Have you had any more thoughts about just having a full MOT and bloods at a fertility clinic? The NHS can be painfully slow Blush.

Gig, that sounds like a lovely birthday Smile. Maybe we can do lunch on the 5th as a belated celebration too? Smile And totally agree with you about the gender thing - when you've been through thinking you'll never be a mother the gender of your children does pale into insignificance.

Yes, Strictly was good, although I'm a bit Hmm about DvO's inclusion. She's a professional dancer to all intents and purposes so it's a bit of a nonsense!

Helloooooo Wink

OP posts:
MySecretSelf · 08/10/2012 22:45

Have you been killing the thread again Pirate? Grin

We're going to stick to the NHS Pirate - I guess we just really want to find out how likely it is I'd conceive again as opposed to exploring treatment so NHS should suit our purposes (I hope!).

Glad you had a nice birthday Gig. When's the George Michael concert?

Decorating all going well, although taking forever. Room painted, curtains up Grin, now just need to swap DS into that room. When it's all done I promise to post pics!

Completely shattered so to all!

disguisedeb · 08/10/2012 22:48

quick wave from me, au pair Gig, I wish!! Lisa's lovely but unfortunately not an au pair.

Just agreed to carry on f/t till Easter, what am I doing?

Gigondas · 09/10/2012 09:10

Gm on Saturday- am totally done in so easy week for me (its low immunity time again) but am very excited as waiting for delivery of new sauncepansBlush.

Yes lunch on 5th would be good pirate

Til Easter ? That is a long time deb

LaGuerta · 09/10/2012 15:03

Hi!!!

Just sitting in the car (it's raining) until its school pick up time.

GBBO tonight might inspire use of your new saucepans Gig.

Will try and respond to each of you later on.

Gigondas · 09/10/2012 17:19

The new pans are lovely. As is my Lakeland booty (new scales and some biscuit cutters) as my dh defied dh Lakeland ban to get me some vouchers .Grin

LaGuerta · 09/10/2012 18:53

Haha! I ordered some Lakeland stuff last week too. No vouchers here and much muttering from DH. I did have a £5 off code though. I am unreasonably pleased to finally own cooling racks having always had to scrabble around for the grill rack in the past.

MySecretSelf · 11/10/2012 12:33

Envy of the Lakeland booty - I had to restrain myself when a Christmas catalogue came through the door. We can talk about Christmas now it's October can't we Deb? Grin

DS's bedroom all decorated - still bed and carpet to sort. I'll make sure I post a curtain pic for you Gig! Envy that you're off to see GM at the weekend - I hope you have a great time. We have a fun-filled weekend planned catching up with old friends so can't wait!

Gigondas · 11/10/2012 12:52

Christmas catalogue EnvyEnvyEnvy

Yes looking forward to gm and sounds like you have a nice weekend planned.

Gigondas · 16/10/2012 10:16

How was ds2 birthday pirate?

LaGuerta · 16/10/2012 18:22

Doesn't look like I have missed too much in the last few days. Sorry for not being around.

I am a bit frenetic here, but not too much to show for it. Just keeping the family ticking over really Blush.

PiratesKnittingTreasure · 17/10/2012 21:02

Hi all, DS2's birthday was wonderful thank you - a full day in Legoland on Sunday and then pre-school, followed by his birthday party at our local soft play place. He hasn't stopped smiling since he woke up on Sunday Grin!

We did meet a friend yesterday who gave him a belated birthday card and he looked at her and said "where's my present?" Blush Hmm

Hope everyone else is ok x

OP posts:
Gigondas · 17/10/2012 21:32

Grin at where's my present ?

Not much to report here as been bit under the weather (nothing major) so been loafing at home.

MySecretSelf · 18/10/2012 12:50

Another Grin at where's my present! Glad he had a good time Pirate.

How was GM Gig?

Had a fab weekend, but it took a day or two to recover! Looking forward to a quiet weekend this week, though we have lots of chores to catch up like buying and building a wardrobe for DS.

I also really need to get some Christmas shopping done - I've hardly done any!!!

Gigondas · 18/10/2012 14:41

Not even from Lakeland?

disguisedeb · 18/10/2012 21:08

quick wave from County Durham, a little stressed here, dh is depressed and I'm struggling to get him to talk , Lisa is fine, Stefan ok, just growing up, Tristan been victim of some minor bullying at school and insensitivities of his teacher, Ethan getting lots of support, 1 hour a week OT, 1 session a week SAL, at school, then at home we are doing physio, speech therapy, school reading and word building, and just had suggestions for OT things too. and me....still awaiting Ofsted, still working silly hours planning and paperwork but time in the classroom is lovely as I have a gorgeous class.one week till half term.......then boys and Lisa off to sils and Nigel and I off for a night away somewhere, anywhere.

LaGuerta · 19/10/2012 11:29

Oh Deb, sorry to hear of all your pressures and worries. Thats a lot of other people that look to you for support. We're here for you to vent to whenever you need us. I hope you can get away with Nigel and help him open up. Xx

We have PILs here this week till Sunday. It's nice to have them here for the first time since FIL's hip replacement. MIL is poorly though with some stomach condition that her GP hasn't yet identified. She has lost 8lbs in 4 weeks and she didn't have that much weight to loose in the first place. I think FIL is quite worried about her although he and the GP suspect some kind of bacteria that creates acid that can cause ulcers, so resolvable once they have got more path results back.

DS1 is v tired from school so, is on a knife edge between being very happy and excited and howling. Roll on half term!

DS2 has acquired a "sad" face when he is told no. Very pouty and hunched over. It is hilarious, and beats a screaming tantrum. He will be two in less than three weeks. I need to sort presents out!
