o.k. I'm bored at work so thought I'll start another threat trying to organise gettogethers :)

With or without kids... I'm game

The latest Ealing thread was considering a zoo visit of some sort when it gets a bit warmer... and now it's gone and gotten colder!

ah the small pleasures in life LOL... hey I'm married to a tech, so if my outlook dies I'm helpless hence the backup ;)

Yeah SMALL pleasures. I'm married to one too. And it means I have turned my guest bedroom into his personal recording / web designing studio. Angry

MrsBigD · 04/04/2006 12:48

Oooh, ladies, v jealous I can't join you on your big nite out Sad Currently feeling tres sorry for myself - at home with horrid flu type virus which dd also has - plus dh has tonsillitus so we are a right old miserable bunch in Isleworth. Have just had a mini battenburg in a small attempt to cheer myself up. Plus a quick leaf through "Grazia". DD finally asleep after 2 spoonfuls of calpol and a lot of back rubbing. I have been up since 2am! There now, whinging over. For now!!! Hope you lot are having much better days Grin

MrsBigD · 04/04/2006 21:11

bunyanvillas... know how you feel, we had a bout of the whole family being ill not too long ago. Still feeling sorry for me now as nanny still of sick with chickenpox. I think if you get it as a grown up it takes at least 1-2 weeks to recover. Oh joy! Thankfully one of my bosses is away so no major issue if I only pop in for a couple of hours whilst my visiting dad and his atm partner are babysitting... so looking forward to Thursday!

Thanks for organising MrsD - see you tomorrow at 7pm. If you have some French books suitable for a 5 year old that aren't too heavy for you then please bring along. I've got a new business proposition that I wanted to run by you tomorrow as well.

Are you coming SnowBoo - if so I can pick you up - just let me your house number.

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 12:31

Hi ladies. Think i'll have to drop out for this one. Dh has decided to arrange boys night out with his mate who is (aparently) only able to make tomorrow. Fishy if you ask me. My parents aren't back from hols til Fri so i'm buggered. SORRY!

Uwila · 05/04/2006 12:49

Bad Mr. Snowboo. Sad

MrsBigD · 05/04/2006 12:55

Defo bad Mr. Snowboo... I would have had a strop and told him what to do with his boys night out... yours has been planned for ages! Grin but that's me... Grin

Normally would throw a wobbly but he said he will take me out for the day on Sunday. Taking time off from golf for it so he must feel really bad! Wonder what else i can get from him? Oh, and he did install my new lovely dishwasher last night. PITA but a sweetie with it....

Uwila · 05/04/2006 14:38

Eh? YOUR new dishwasher. Oh no... you really do need to get out. I tell DH that kitchen appliances which enable me to do extra housework don't count as presents. He eats the food too.

Girls, I think we need to rescue Boo... And your DH normally plays golf on Sundays? Oh what a sacrifice. My heart bleeds...

Boo, you are coming out with us next time. No excuses!!

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 14:41

Hahaha god it makes me sound like i'm tied to the kitchen sink!!!! I will escape next time for sure.

He has now informed me his friend (who drives me up the wall) is coming over for dinner. Final straw. Can feel a right old tantrum coming on....

MrsRecycle · 05/04/2006 14:41

I'd volunteer dh's babysitting services but I've got a few chores lined up for tomorrow night.

So when are we going to be able to compare bumps then Boo? Are you free on the Sunday 23rd April (sorry can't do anything before then)? Do you fancy grabbing Coffee somewhere or taking the kids to the Lido, if the weather's okay. We can plan something closer the time.

Uwila · 05/04/2006 14:41

Oh and as for what else you can get out of the deal:

1- sit down moan as you bend over a bit lopsided and make mumbling about local massage clinic.

2- Demand lunch... and dinner.

3- He could RUN the dishwasher (after loading it of course). Grin

I'm sure you can think of more....

Uwila · 05/04/2006 14:43

If my DH did that (which he never would), I'd say "oh that's nice. What are you guys having? Save some for me please."

MrsRecycle · 05/04/2006 14:43

So if his mate's coming over for dinner - an extra pair of hands to babysit and I have the numbers of a good take-away so he can order in. Problem solved!!

MrsRecycle · 05/04/2006 14:46

Great minds think alike Uwila!

Uwila · 05/04/2006 14:46

Actually, if my DH was cooking, I wouldn't be eating. It would be Marks and Sparks full fat reheated sunday roast kind of dinner. He doesn't understand the difference between cooking and reheating.

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 14:55

Yeah problem is dh is a far better cook than me! I can cook, just too lazy Blush Have had a mega moan at him, and he can't escape as we are in the same office Grin

Lido sounds good MrsR. By then i should've gained a few more pounds so we can compare. You should measure bump in toilet sheets. That way we can gauge size in squares!

Oh, did anyone watch Daziel & Pascoe? Wonder if theres anyone on here like that?? Just a thought....

MrsBigD · 05/04/2006 14:58

As MrsR said... the men can babysit and you can join us Grin

there's a difference between cooking and heating up??? WinkGrin What does shoving frozen chips, pizza etc. into the oven count as? heating up or cooking??? GrinGrinGrinGrin

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 05/04/2006 14:59

Okay 23rd it is then. Uwila, MrsBigD, Yanks, anyone else - if you fancy coming along I'll start another thread. The Lido's in Ruislip and has a massive outdoor play area so we'll confirm closer the time depending on weather.

MrsRecycle · 05/04/2006 15:01

Frozen chips? Pizza? what are they MrsD??? I've banned them from the house as that's all dh used to "cook". Didn't work though - he just gets take-aways instead!
