I'm still on for the 6th, I believe. Knock wood.
Dh came home Tues., still a bit tired and hoarse voice, but no more infection and fully oxygenated again. Off work for 2 weeks or so. He's feeling much better than he was when really ill, and he's even not really moaning much and is actually fixing his own tea (& even sausages)(!) I'm very grateful 'cos it means (a) his energy is getting much better and (b) he's kindly trying to reduce the extra load on me from having him underfoot all day. What a sweetie. It's nice of him, since for some reason it always seems that when he's home all the time, there's more than twice the dishes to wash, crumbs to mop up, and laundry to do, etc. That's men for you. I suppose it's just going to get worse as ds gets older.
Glad he's feeling so much better, though.
In the meantime, been busy with a sudden wad of unusual & unexpected bureaucratic chores all happening at once, including trips downtown and a trip to the airline ticket desk at Heathrow, that had to be done by tight deadlines, and all aside from visiting dh at hospital, etc. Finally nearly caught up. I think. Until the next ones suddenly pop up in my face.
As Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman once said in a different context, "Buggre alle this for a lark."
Obviously I'm not the only one having a crap month, though, and I sympathize. Chin up and all that.
(I also sympathize with pg sickness -- I too felt more or less constantly sick for 6 or 7 months with ds. Such fun. Even threw up in my car once while just arriving somewhere to eat lunch. He also stole too many of my B vitamins (which I have a private theory about contributing to pnd), but I guess it was worth it since he's really been quite healthy all along and I'm grateful for that.)
You're right, YanksUponThames is too long (if descriptive). Hmmm. Other "yankmum" related things seem to be taken. Would "DrYank" be pretentious?
