Ladies, as suggested by Katz, let us re-attempt a grand south-meets-north meetup in honour of our babies' first birthdays. So as not to collide with anyone's baby's actual first birthday, I suggest the weekend of 22-23 July.

Thoughts: that's in the school holidays, presumably a good thing for those of us with school age kids.

Saturday or Sunday?

Location. Katz has suggested Hyde Park - sounds good if we northern Junies are going by train to the southern lands. Otherwise, there is a very nice country park near Luton/M1 which would be good for a driving meet-up?

Well obviously I'm happy to do the Luton meet, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that Luton is only 20 mins from me, honest

Hyde Park is fine too...or even Regents Park/London Zoo??? something for all ages there???

Another suggestion before had been the birmingham/coventry areas as that was pretty central (country wise) but not sure about public transport link ups for those not driving...can't suggest an actual place there myself either as I don't know the areas very well - just thought I'd be a minx and through it into the pot.

Re the date - fine for us - anytime in July will be fine

katzg · 09/02/2006 21:50

ooo london zoo london zoo!

tribpot · 10/02/2006 08:39

London Zoo could be good, didn't realise that was in Regents Park! Right end of London for those of us coming from the grim north!

Oh, looky. I want to come. But, PLEASE don't make me keep up with the Junie thread in order to stay informed ('tis an absolutely impossible task).

22-23 July is okay for us.

katzg · 22/02/2006 17:26

So, have we decided on London Zoo? DD will be thrilled with that pick. It will be great to see everyone again (some perhaps for the first time).

tribpot · 06/03/2006 09:14

London Zoo sounds good, we just need to decide between the Saturday and the Sunday.

OP posts:
welshmum · 06/03/2006 10:48

I'll try to get there too - if I'm allowed now I'm not keeping up with the thread?

uwila · 06/03/2006 10:49

Welshie, I don't keep up either. We pick up where we left off. Grin

katzg · 06/03/2006 19:43

All junies welcome the more the merrier, i have to say the saturday would be better foe me, more regular trains

tribpot · 06/03/2006 19:43

Good point Katz, I nominate 22 July for that reason, as we'll be coming by train as well.

OP posts:
katzg · 06/03/2006 19:45

and mayies and julyies too!!

katzg · 06/03/2006 19:47

Great, so the BIG meet will be 22nd July at London Zoo! Does anyone know the Zoo at all to suggest a meeting point

Scraggyaggy · 07/03/2006 00:08

Evening all!!

Sorry it's been so long. Have just been so busy with life, baby, life, baby, baby... (Thank you Katz for getting me back on MN)

I'd LOVE to meet up with you all in July!! We can compare how last year's "bumps" turned out! Mine looks nothing like me, in fact some people thought I was just minding her for someone else!! She's the spitting image of her father!

x

katzg · 07/03/2006 11:08

Will be great to see you Scraggy

uwila · 07/03/2006 13:00

Are people bring older ones too or just the one-year olds?

Hey, is anyone having another one yet?????

teabelly · 07/03/2006 14:32

Uwila, was planning on bringing dh and ds - they'd love the zoo, and if others were only going to be themselves and babes then dh is happy to take ds off and meet me later, hth Smile

teabelly · 07/03/2006 14:39

he he he and definitely not having another one, ever, let alone yet Wink

Re a place to meet, I think there's a main cafe and picnic area...will see if I can google the site...

katzg · 07/03/2006 14:41

i will have my DH and older DD too, can't not take them to london zoo!
