The lot from 'darn sarf' had a great time at their meet up. How about we do a Northern one on a big scale too?

Who'd be up for it and any sugesstions as to where?

depending on where it is i may partake in a wee pissup

northerner · 09/02/2006 16:25

Where would you like it to be Custy?

Us northerner can take our drink so more than a wee piss up.

if you could all meet at the Avant Hotel on manchester road Oldham - that would be very handy

northerner · 09/02/2006 16:28

I was thinking Manc actually, but somewhere city centre. Nice restaurant and those needing accom could stay somewhere nice.

i think you should put a date on it - demand it be something like Saturday 15th July - otherwise people start haggling over dates and nothing ever gets done - this democracy lark doesn't work. name it " The northern summer meet up"

need a venue too - so that people dont fuck about as per above reasons. somewhere we could have a dance when we are pissed would be good - so an eatery with room to dance?!

dont know manchester all that well actually. is there anywhere in the village that would accomodate us? last time i went to the new union i had a great time - but that was many years ago - its all changed now.

northerner · 09/02/2006 16:40

See I don't know Manc all that well either. What about Leeds or Newcastle?

OP posts:
Tortington · 09/02/2006 16:47

could onyl really do manc miself.

may start a thread asking for ideas

northerner · 09/02/2006 16:48

Agree about putting date on it and venue. Shall we be event organisers?

OP posts:
fastasleep · 09/02/2006 16:49

custardo did you say 'fuck' that's against the rules!

i might be able to do a Manc one, but I'm still expressing so if the times were at all off I'd have to drop out rather than pump on a train with a baby in a sling and a toddler next to me!

MamaG · 09/02/2006 16:49

I'd be up for that, Cumbria's nice

Somewhere big Manc/Leeds/Newcastle is accessible for most tho with motorways etc so would prob be best.

Tortington · 09/02/2006 16:52

yes northerner lets.

call the date Northy baby!

get them all interested and jealous and get those southerners to get on a train ( not likley)

Tortington · 09/02/2006 17:01

tiger tiger has a grill we can eat get free entry into the club itself waddya think

Hulababy · 09/02/2006 17:23

Might be up for this - depends where, whenm times, etc.

gomez · 09/02/2006 17:25

Hey Custy can I come to this one too and ply you with booze?

mummytosteven · 09/02/2006 17:29

Tiger Tiger sounds great. The Printworks is just a few minutes walk from Manchester Victoria train and tram station, so very good for those coming/going on public transport. Manchester is much better for me too.

Shiraz · 09/02/2006 19:07

Ooh i might join you guys too, if that's okay! (not that many of you will know me).

Hopefully dp and i will have all our finances back on the road to recovery by then adn could do to let my hair down after 6/7 months of hell!

Not sure if we are relocating before then (dp's job offers)...(i'm currently in Lincolnshire at the moment). Used to work in Leeds so know it quite well!

Although Manchester sounds great too! Right must go as dd is on the bath! And he is calling me to hlep him get her out..pmsl

Take care...and i'll get to know you all better!

Manchester great for the Liverpool Ladies

15th of July is my first wedding anniversary - I suppose that means I ought to spend it with DH though frankly I'd rather blot out all memories of my wedding

Tortington · 09/02/2006 19:15

you'll have plenty of other wedding aniverseries - fuck him off!

GOMEZ you absolutley must come and i will buy you a couple of bottles of beer - i absolutley owe you.

Whizzz · 09/02/2006 19:15

Tentatively suggests - How about looking at hotels that do entertainment. One hotel near us does regular tribute acts. Act + meal + disco £15 -20 and those wanting to could stay in hotel?? Must be loads of places that do that sort of thing. I've been to a couple - great for a laugh when sozzled!

Tortington · 09/02/2006 19:17

that would be great whizz - know any in manchester?

Mazzystar · 09/02/2006 19:20

DH suggests Dukes 92 in Deansgate locks or Matt and Fred's Jazz bar on Oldham St

but he reckons he's a bit trendy so might be up your own ass architect places

Whizzz · 09/02/2006 19:21

Can't think of any in the centre - they may be too posh ! We are about 30 mins away from Manchester. I'll have a google
