Hi Fransmom, I live in Weston-s-m, and I've got a dd who's nearly 14 months. We can usually be found on the beach (whatever the weather!), where dd likes to eat sand, pick up rubbish and try and steal big kids' footballs!! Look forward to hearing from you when you've got a functioning computer.

fransmom · 24/02/2006 23:03

Hi there, sorry, being very slow here! I'm fine thanks, although a bit stressed as I'm looking for a part time job at the moment - I'm crawling the walls at home all the time! DD & I go to a toddler group once a week but other than that I'm a bit unimaginative and stick to walks on the beach and in the park. (I only moved here in august so don't know many people). We live right in town though so at least everything is handy. Where about are you? Have you found any great activities for little ones?

fransmom · 06/03/2006 14:58

hi fiona! sorry your climbing the walls. don't work at morrisons, they carp Blush sorry, not good to work for at all. there's no incentive to work there - tho if your face fits its all sweetness and light. you have to fight for everything you entitled to, managers lie to you left right and centre. for instance, a lot of the parents there now are worried about job security because if their los sick, that absence goes on sick record. alot of them are now getting pulled in and warned about it - yet one of the managers is well known for taking time off when his boys are poorly which is good imo but nothings said to him. Angry
i'm sorry but i disillusioned with them now.
apparently asda and dunelm are nice to work for tho i don't know if there are jobs available there. let me know how you get on. Smile
as for toddler activities, there's sposed 2b a group at hutton moor for toddlers and babies called tearless and fearless, it's worth asking at the library too to see if they know anything Smile

hi there, sorry I'm really rubbish at the moment and then keep losing the thread!!(In more ways than one!!!) Have been busy reorganising my life, as my car failed it's MOT and I can't afford to fix it/buy a new one. Also my Mum's not been well so I've been having to sort out alternative childcare in order to get anything done(I'm single so she helps me out loads!). Still haven't found a job tho - I'm guessing from your last post that you work at Morrisons! I'll stay away from them then!!
Oops, can hear noises from the bedroom - nap time is over so I'd better go... will try and get back sooner next time..

Furball · 25/03/2006 13:07

If you click on 'add thread to your watch list' at the top of this thread then click 'threads I'm watching' 4th row down at the top of the page - it will stay in your 'watching' threads, so you'll always know where it is :)

for some reason, Somerset et al don't figure much on MN. I'm from bridgwater, but currently studying in Gwent- so across the water from yourself.

There were no Somersetters on here when I started at all, there are somoe more, so fingers crossed!

tortoise · 24/04/2006 18:55

Im in somerset but not western. We need more somerset peeps on mn!Grin

Peachyclair · 24/04/2006 19:19

yes p[lease, for when I go back!

madrose · 24/04/2006 20:03

Dont live in Weston, but visit regulary - parents there and family and friends. How old is your little one. My DD is 14 months old. Where are you in Weston?

tortoise · 24/04/2006 20:04

Im not far from Yeovil so not that far from you peachyclair. When are you coming back?

Peachyclair · 24/04/2006 22:01

I've ogt another two years here, but then we're moving probably to Ilminster or Osuth Petherton, seeing as our social life menas going to Ilminster most weeks anyhow. I can finish my teacher training at Exeter, which will suit a treat.

In lots of ways I'd stay here, but Dh misses his family and friends (he's from Chard)

fransmom · 25/04/2006 23:08

madrose, my lo is 1 in 1hr and 40mins! with daddy in hospital, likely for a week, maybe plus, with severe pneumonia. i phoned hospital about half hour ago to see how he was and he'd fallen asleep - that's quite good cos he quite poorly apparently. he's on mend now from what they said so fingers crossed
