Getting exciting now Grin Wink!

OP posts:

I adored Spooks. Though West Wing is my ultimate fave.

I've been watching The Voice. I like the fact that all the candidates can actually sing and the ritual humiliation of X-factor is missing. It's a bit long though so I've found it a teeny bit dull. Some of the battles were good, but a fair few were about who could sing the loudest. It'll be interesting to see what the live shows are like. I am liking Will but Danny is a PITA. He really annoyed me during the blind auditions.

Gigondas · 23/04/2012 21:37

I agree Scottish - half of em yesterday , I thought neither should win

TheScottishPlayer · 23/04/2012 23:39

Random question - are any of your 3yr olds in a full sized single bed yet? Deb, what age did your older boys move into one? DS is once again snuggled up next to me - we're going to move him to the bigger bedroom in the summer as we've put the move on hold and wondering whether a 'big boy bed' might entice him to stay put at night.

Gigondas · 24/04/2012 07:06

Yes dd1 has always had one here (was dss so we didn't bother with a toddler bed). She is fine in it- it has cot sides and is customized with nice sheets (peppa pig or sparkly pink Blush) and about 200 sort toys.

LaGuerta · 24/04/2012 18:45

Nope still in a converted cot bed. When we decorate DSs' rooms then we will probably have a think about rejigging furniture.

Scottish for the record, I just massively yelled at DS1. After a very long run of grotty behaviour this afternoon he was blocking DS2s path up the stairs. After I had told him not to mess around on the stairs, he walked onto the landing and then turned and pushed DS2 over right at the top of the stairs. Angry No one hurt and they are both laughing in the bath now.

Gig - how did you get on this evening?

Gigondas · 24/04/2012 19:28

Was ok but fairly stressful to wait and you get injected horrendous dye stuff (which spent some time trying to find a vein to inject).

Dd1 was not at her best on play date this morning Blush- a lot of shout and telling off from me then was a bit better.

It's been a long day and radiotherapy due to start tomorrow .

TheScottishPlayer · 24/04/2012 19:31

That does make me feel better LaG, but I'm very glad no-one was hurt. DS has been an angel over last day or two and just generally lovely so I'm much happier now.

Useful to know on the beds. On one hand I'm hoping the old 'big boy bed' chat will help him sleep better, but I also think putting a big bed in the bigger room will cancel out any extra space he'd get in moving rooms, so then we lose a 'guest room' for nothing. Gah. I've promised him the bigger room though so will prob just go ahead. He sleeps all night fine at GPs and both sets have full sized singles.

How are you today Gig?

TheScottishPlayer · 24/04/2012 19:32

Oops cross-post. How are you feeling about treatment starting?

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 24/04/2012 19:50

Big hugs, Gig, hope tomorrow goes as well as can be expected x

LaGuerta · 24/04/2012 21:50

Gig - all luck and best wishes for tomorrow. Hope it goes as well as it can. Xx

Gigondas · 24/04/2012 22:09

Thanks for all good wishes.can I just say again I hate hospitals .

On a lighter note (or not) is it me or are there more depressing threads on here lately about relationship problems? Loads of active threads on it (along with normal Aibu stuff).

TheScottishPlayer · 25/04/2012 10:23

Thinking of you today Gig. You're definitely allowed to hate hospitals.

And yes, a raft of miserable relationship threads atm.

disguisedeb · 26/04/2012 20:03

Just checking in to see how you're getting on Gig.

Gigondas · 26/04/2012 20:15

Doing ok thanks deb- worried about scan results but radiotherapy ok. Biggest pain I have is in my lower back from lifting fat babies.

How is everyone else? Assume you have been deluged with rain too.

TheScottishPlayer · 26/04/2012 20:20

When do you get scan results Gig?

Miserable weather here too (no surprise really). Rain in April is one thing, but it is so cold and wintry. Anyone would think Christmas was round the corner Grin

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 27/04/2012 18:46

Just marking my place - catatonic with tiredness after this week Blush so reading but not contributing.

Special hugs to gig x

disguisedeb · 27/04/2012 23:48

CHRISTMAS!!!!! Grin

Been picking up many fat babies then Gig? When do you get the scan results?

Raining inside our house too with leak in utility and our bedroom!

disguisedeb · 27/04/2012 23:49

physio has recommended a scooter for Ethan , so any recommendations? As you're aware balance isn't great. Not posting anywhere else, only here in the safety of our little group!

TheScottishPlayer · 27/04/2012 23:56

Grin at Christmas.

DS has a mini micro which is fab - easier to master steering. Well worth the money. I've no idea of E's balance issues would make it trickier to master though as it's a 2-wheeler rather than 3?

TheScottishPlayer · 28/04/2012 00:04

I lie. The mini micro has 3 wheels I've had a bit of wine tonight.

In which case, I whole heartedly recommend the mini micro. It's really light and you steer it by leaning on the handle right or left rather than having to turn the handles iyswim. It's raved about here on MN which is what persuaded me to buy it and I've never regretted it.

LaGuerta · 28/04/2012 15:31

Hi Deb. Also have a look at the next size up from the mini micro scooter too. It's called the maxi micro I think. We bought DS this for Christmas. It says age 6 plus but DS is absolutely fine on it and it may have longevity too as it is meant to last until they are twelve. We went maxi rather than mini because DS was right at the upper weight limits for the mini. So, weigh I guess Ethan. It's great though definitely recommended.

TheScottishPlayer · 28/04/2012 15:36

Good point LaG. DS probably has loads of life left in his mini because he's fairly petite but for longevity worth looking at the maxi. I have seen on some scooter threads that the lowest height on the maxi is about the same as the mini.

Revising here. Very dull!

LaGuerta · 01/05/2012 12:12

How is everyone?

Gigondas · 01/05/2012 15:45

Knackered and sick of rain and stressed . But mini gig got all clear on hip scan so some nice news

LaGuerta · 01/05/2012 20:39

Aww, sorry that you're feeling crappy. How long is the radiotherapy taking each day? Good news on mini Gig.

I took DS1 to a speech therapy drop in centre today which is a great scheme. In Surrey I think there is a year's waiting list to be seen. Anyway, DS1 began stammering a little back in January, and I thought it should be checked out. Additionally, some of his sounds still aren't clear. Of course he didn't stammer at all whilst we were there and the ST said that the sounds whilst not all clear were normal for his age. However I am going to get referred (me not DS) to a two hour parents' session on how to help stammering children, and it can be taken from there. It's not constant stammering but pre school have noticed. I feel it is as though he has a rapidly expanding vocabulary and sometimes knows there is a word he wants to use but can't grasp as quickly as he would like. He is also still quite anxious I think post moving house.

We have no central heating and the saga of trying to get it fixed is painful and not worth relating...

Things i am currently contemplating:
signing up for a veg box scheme
DS1 birthday party
Whether we will ever organise a house warming
What to get decorated
Summer holidays

I am trying to read a book again, with limited success. DH is away for a couple of nights so bed and a couple of chapters might be on the cards. After I have fulfilled my draw something responsibilities of course.
