Hello hello! Here I am with good intentions to behave and show up to some meet ups since I utterly failed in 2011! Grin

So we need ideas for daytime meets and of course we must not forget our night time meets Wink

Daytime Ideas
Beamish
Saltwell Park, Gateshead
The Giants Den, Team Valley
Botanic Gardens
Beach (in the summer of course, unless we want airborne children!)

Okay so ideas for January daytime, I think cake is definitely in order so I propose the one that's next to Ebony, the huge place, down some steps, uhh... Slug & Lettuce is it? CAKE!

January night time? Is this something we want to plan? I know we're always poor after Christmas!

Mum gave me thos bands as a kid in the car Spiggy, never seemed to help then but I also found them very uncomfortable.

IWillOnlyEatBeans · 26/06/2012 13:28

14th is good for me!

How will I recognise you? Or will you all be wearing badges with your MN names on? Grin

Indith · 26/06/2012 13:33

We seem to have managed ok in the past, the first time we had biscuits as it was just after the biscuit affair but since then any newbies have managed to find us. We are the group of women looking all confused at being out after dark and not having children with them Grin. Except sometimes we have babies with us. Course the offer of doing something in the daytime before then is still there, I like making new friends :). I may go to the botanics anyway on Thursday afternoon with dd so we can see the fish, she was dreaming about them the other day.

Indith · 26/06/2012 13:33

Oh and shall we do cocktails and curry? Not had curry in a while.

LeggyBlondeNE · 26/06/2012 14:00

Do you think we'd get a table at Fat Buddha?

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 26/06/2012 14:09

sounds like a plan Indith. of course Ebony have cocktails that have biscuits in so you get to have alcohol and biscuits

Leggy- they never worked on me either when I was a kid but worked a treat on morning sickness.

child#2 and child#3 have gone quiet. DO you think investigation is required or take the the opportunity to have a cuppa?

IWillOnlyEatBeans · 26/06/2012 15:29

I am car-less at the minute, so will need to figure out how to get from here to the bontnic gardens on (gasp!) the bus. DS LOVES a bus ride though, so he will be over the moon...

Will let you know later on, as DS has finally emerged from a three hour nap anticipates a long, drawn out bedtime tonight...

LeggyBlondeNE · 26/06/2012 16:12

Oo, I may have found the solution to my NVP - coca cola! Been craving it for ages, now feel great! Anticipated blood sugar crash in T minus 30 minutes...

Beans - where are you travelling from? There's a couple of buses that run right past the Botanics and a few more that drop off at the bottom of the Science site.

Indith · 28/06/2012 11:16

Mmmm sausage sandwiches from the botanics for lunch. They had better have some of their chocolate cake today. Suppose I should go pick dd up :)

LeggyBlondeNE · 03/07/2012 10:38

Just had booking appointment and got all warm and fuzzy at recognising the MW, and she remembered all about me. Probably a good job the MW who delivered T wasn't there (she's C-le-S team) or I might actually have burst into tears!

And: "So, are we at home again? That's lovely."

Man, I love the Durham community midwives. Why aren't they all like this?!

Indith · 03/07/2012 10:43

They are fab, Durham might have issues sometimes but the always stem from funding really. The CMWs are wonderful women.

We really need to get the troops together if we are doing the 14th, get on FB, get sending PMs to everyone!

We've got

Spiggy
Leggy
Frozen
Beans
Indith
Foxy if she can get a baby sitter.

Must hunt down juney, MrsArchie, Sticky. Who else?

Indith · 03/07/2012 11:08

I have done some messaging. To those wth small babies who have poked their nose in once or twice, small babies are perfectly welcome :)

stickyLFDTfingers · 03/07/2012 11:44

I have been messaged! DH away at the mo but sure he'll be OK to look after the small ones. So a tentative yes, will confirm properly once he's back. Thank you for the message Indith x

juneybean · 03/07/2012 11:46

Thanks for the nudge! I think I'm a yes...

Ds2 and V can have their own party :)

VikingLady · 05/07/2012 15:33

V is happy as long as she has access to a boob. Total disinterest in anything/anyone else, I am afraid. Though I have seen her eying up other people's boobs....

Indith · 06/07/2012 08:05

sounds like a sensible girl

KaraStarbuckThrace · 06/07/2012 10:53

I won't go be going on the 14th. Cara's sleep is just crap and I don't think I will be able to get her to bed in time.

Will have to have cake in Durham in the holidays, we are away to Blackpool the 1st week but not sure exactly when (we are not staying the whole week)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 06/07/2012 17:08

Juney - how is the house hunting going? Did those people accept your second offer?

juneybean · 06/07/2012 17:28

I didn't make any further offers, I've took a bit of a break as it was stressing me out quite a bit, I check RightMove every day though to see if anything amazing comes up.

The one I loved in Grange Villa sold before I even had chance to put in an offer.

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 08/07/2012 13:16

Oh no :( But hopefully your ideal house will come up soon!

Indith · 09/07/2012 20:35

Something will come up, a break can be a good thing sometimes.

So erm, I should probably book a table right?

juneybean · 09/07/2012 21:36

I've been asked to work so I can't go :(
