Hello hello! Here I am with good intentions to behave and show up to some meet ups since I utterly failed in 2011! Grin

So we need ideas for daytime meets and of course we must not forget our night time meets Wink

Daytime Ideas
Beamish
Saltwell Park, Gateshead
The Giants Den, Team Valley
Botanic Gardens
Beach (in the summer of course, unless we want airborne children!)

Okay so ideas for January daytime, I think cake is definitely in order so I propose the one that's next to Ebony, the huge place, down some steps, uhh... Slug & Lettuce is it? CAKE!

January night time? Is this something we want to plan? I know we're always poor after Christmas!

Where shall we go?

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 30/03/2012 19:44

Right, have checked my diary and calmed down and I am off on Tues. DS1 has a drs appointment at 10:15 so free after that has finished. It looks like we'll be back to ENT as he failed his school hearing test.

Don't mind what we do but I'll have all 3 so that probably rules out Cafe Continental... Can someone else make the decision as my brain hurts too much at the moment to think.

Sticky- It is our Head Office dealing with it so not directly involved but we do get to gossip about it Wink Grin We're crossing our fingers it works as we are under review at the moment so a nice big success story would make us all feel a bit safer in our jobs.

Viking- will you be able to come? I could prob drop you at home afterwards as I wouldn't have to get back for school- I've got a spare car seat.

Indith · 31/03/2012 08:59

We need somewhere they can run around, this weather isn't looking great though! BBC says rain for Tuesday. So where is cheap/free, has good cake and toys. Not been to Broom House farm in a while, is that a possibility? Not at all familiar with other farms or soft plays, I don't go places with entry fees apart from botanics.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/04/2012 09:00

Heavy rain Tuesday :(

Slug on Tuesday?

Indith · 02/04/2012 08:21

Ok with me, I shall only have the small one. Spiggy are you ok with it?

Around 12 for lunch?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/04/2012 09:35

Sounds good to me!

StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2012 10:16

have a good time :)

Indith · 02/04/2012 10:43

Are you not off SPB? I thought you were off on the Tuesdays while your DH is being all manly and stuff.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 02/04/2012 10:47

sounds good to me Smile. You will all have to give me a slap if I start twitching and muttering about focus groups though...

VikingLady · 02/04/2012 11:19

would love to get out of the house and dd seems happiest in a car seat! would very much appreciate a lift spiggy thank you. am typing this one handed as i try and wrestle dd with the other. the 1st 2 weeks were so easy...

StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2012 11:24

That isn't till may, well very end of April. And I was telling you how they were doing it in 10 days, they're not, its the bog standard 14. I'm sure there was discussion bout doing it in 10 at some point but dh just gave me the Confused face

MrsArchieTheInventor · 02/04/2012 11:30

In reply to the OP - I've not read through all 412 posts but would love to come to a meet up as I'm somewhat a virgin.

That said, I'm a bit afraid that it will be like 'first day at school' again with not knowing who to talk to, coupled with people I've sparred with on MN thinking I'm a bitch. Smile

juneybean · 02/04/2012 12:45

Ohh don't worry, they all talk enough that you won't get a word in edgeways Wink

I believe they're going to the Slug & Lettuce in Durham city centre tomorrow at 12pm to have lunch!

Just show up (with or without children!) and you'll know which is them! We usually end up taking over a corner of comfy chairs!

I don't start work 'til 1pm tomorrow so it's bad timing for me this week!

Grin juney

Come along tomorrow MrsArchie. I will be the harrassed looking one with a 10month old who thinks he can climb anything, a 3 year old who will probably be having a temper tantrum because of something ridiculously trivial and a 5 year old who never sits still. [bad weekend emoticon] You won't be able to miss me. What I did on my first meet up was go up to the most likely looking person and ask if they were waiting to meet some random people off the internet. I guessed right!

Viking- the first 2 weeks are just to lull you into a false sense of security. They wait until daddy goes back to work and then start being awkward. Can you get to Durham ok? I might be able to pick you up as well if you need it.

Indith · 02/04/2012 14:07

Ah, sorry SPB for some reason I thought it was sooner, oh well, we'll have to have more cake later Grin.

Look forward to meeting your dd Viking!

MrsArchie do come along tomorrow! We are not that scary. I'll be the one with the 4 week old dangling off my nipples looking slightly bemused as my tantrum throwing 3 year old and 5 year old who can't sit still are with their granny and not here Grin.

juneybean · 02/04/2012 15:37

If I can be a pain in the bum, after an unexpected tax bill, I'm desperate for any babysitting jobs you might need me for, I've done work for Spiggy, Frozen and Leggy in the past! Grin

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2012 15:40

Juney, would you travel out to me? And when u say babysitting do you literally mean evenings? And how much do you charge, pm me?

Indith · 02/04/2012 15:41

If I could afford you I would! My babysitting needs are more of a local teenager to bribe with £5 and a bowl of popcorn. Not going to go very far towards the tax bill!

Indith · 02/04/2012 15:43

Are you home or away tomorrow spb by the way? We are quizzing it at the village hall, more heads always a good thing!

juneybean · 02/04/2012 15:45

I hope that PM sent SPB, MN went a bit weird on me!

But evenings, daytimes, overnights, my schedule for work is so weird and wonderful that I get insane amounts of time off in a row!

Aww bless you Indith x

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2012 16:25

Away tomorrow Indith, but I do appreciate you asking me, please can m include me inany future ones, do love a quiz!
Juney, yes pm received thanks. Dh is away soon Amd I may need some help with dc, can I let you know and if you're free, great. Might not though, sorry if I'm messing you about. Might also try and convince dh we need a rare night out!

juneybean · 02/04/2012 16:27

No, don't worry! Even if you're thinking about it is better than not Grin

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/04/2012 18:10

I'll be coming with small crawling girl and manic 4yo boy, who will most likely be running around with Spiggy's elder 2.

Boo to Juney and SPB not coming. Looking forward to meeting a new face, MrsArchie. And hopefully Stealth will make the next one - she is famous, in the roundup pretty much every week the attention seeking cowbag Grin

I'll message Leggy & Frozen on FB in case they miss this and can join us!

StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2012 18:12

how did the mani-pedi go? And did C cry much when you got her ears pierced?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/04/2012 20:16

LOL how did you hear about that, you aren't even in Facebook!!
